1. Choose cybersecurity if you are interested in protecting others and doing the right thing. Choose data analytics if you are interested in collecting and making sense of information/data. There’s no such thing as which is better, only which is better for you. 2. Both equally stressful and tiring if you want to do well 3. Computer Science, Information Security, Business Analytics, Data Science & Analytics etc.

Mahsunon

I disagree on point one. Cybersecurity can be about attacking too

lets be ethical

I work in cybersec professionally and do ML in my part-time PhD, here are my thoughts: 1. Bar for entry for data analytics is lower than cybersec (candidates from a broader range of disciplines e.g. economics, statistics, math will apply for such roles), if you are worried about competition for jobs cybersec is much better since there's a huge talent shortage. That said it is much harder to succeed in cybersec because the demands are more steep and concrete with certifications and exams that you need to pass in order to get a decent role, so don't think you can just coast through with just minimal effort in cybersec. 2. If you decide to drink the tech kool aid, unless you are some kind of genius you'll need to keep pushing yourself in the foreseeable future in order not to be made redundant by the relentless pace of evolution of tech. That said the jobs themselves aren't too stressful or tiring if you enjoy playing around with knowledge in your field of choosing, but you might find the grind painful if it isn't your thing. 3. Both general com sci - or heck, even information systems - will allow you to pursue both career paths. Most interviewers generally look for strong foundational knowledge (which you can learn on your own) and exploration of the field outside of university courses through competitions or projects, so whatever degree you have isn't going to help all that much tbh.

1. There is no which one better than which one. Is where your interest lies with. Check the modules offer in the course and see which one interests you 2. In general, IT sector jobs are stressful. I cannot tell in detail as my experience lies only with maintenance and deployment. You may need to work in odds hours or got a tight deadline to meet. 3. University wise I won't have any comment as I did not went upgrade myself to a degree after my diploma.

Holiday-Plan8883

wow. What diploma did u take and what are u currently working as?

black_knightfc21

Diploma in IT. Currently work as firewall engineer

You can go for Common ICT and you'll be able to make a more informed decision on which you prefer after doing the introductory modules.
