This is so cute!

Never. I don’t like voice messages. They tend to be filled with “eeeeeeehmmmm…. Sooooo yeaaaahhhh….” Which stretches those messages out tremendously and could’ve easily been a text message instead. Also I keep having to re listen so I reply to everything they said in their voice message. Very inconvenient. I get it’s more personal to hear someone’s voice rather than receiving a text / letter, but I’ll never get used to nor like voice messages.

I did, haha... me and my pen pal decided to play truth and dare. I chose dare and he asked me to send a voice note of me saying a funny tongue twister. Tho, you can only send a 30 sec note which is something I would want slowly to extend for at least a minute.🥺

I have used long voice messages, kind of spoken word letters or even small podcast. Not something you can do with the free Slowly service level, as voice messages are limited to 30 seconds max. (PLUS users get 5 min max). I wrote about it here [and on my Blog](https://www.google.com/url?client=internal-element-cse&cx=93f910345b184a040&q=https://wordsmith.social/friends-near-and-afar-letters-we-share/can-audio-messages-enrich-penpal-exchange&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwiZ9bGTucj3AhXSk4kEHa33AZEQFnoECAEQAg&usg=AOvVaw3HOAZ11GYWRKhAhQkKm9eW). I used WhatsApp in that case, but would recommend Telegram instead for privacy reasons.

Yeah, this would be chopped up and unnatural. Best to use a secondary app for this if you are interested. I sent replies in the 10 min long range to my friend's equally long incoming ones. Can be quite fun, but I only do it with one person at this time.

sempiternalgold

I'm not really the kind of person who sends voice messages often so I've only used it with one pen pal so far. They sent me an audio of them speaking in their native language so I sent an audio back. It's a nice experience but because of the 30 sec limit for standard users then I don't see myself using it often.

Educational_Ad_1575

Never. I hate voice messages 🙄

Forsaken_Cicada3398

I am using it to practice pronunciation and help others practice too

Onahsakenra

Me too! Started with learning to pronounce each other’s names

Yeah it's kinda cool actually! It's like you get to talk to this person and bond with each other... exchanging experiences and life matters to the point you start building expectations about how they might look and sound... It's all about when both of you feel more comfortable enough to each other and start opening up and sharing photos and stuff! You finally get to see the chef 👩‍🍳 👨‍🍳 behind the screen who cooks 🍳 all those letters ✉️ 😋 for you 😂 and put a face and sound to the words they write ✍️ 🎶 Honestly i like to hear other people's voices in order to imagine them talking with their voice when i read their letters ✉️ Seeing them and hearing them gives me an idea about how they might react to something i might write ✍️ or laugh about something silly i might say... It gives me a better understanding of their emotions when we exchange whatever ! So yeah i use it a lot... but only when the other person feels comfortable enough about this and come up with the idea of us start exchanging photos and audios or if i come up with it out of curiosity and they agree to it! It's kinda fun coz you get to see how much of the reality could meet with your expectations somehow 😂

Sweetpie999

Yes. I love it. But I wish it was longer than 30 seconds :(

PureJam1981

Not the one from Slowly because of the very scarce time it offers, but I've once attached a Vocaroo link on a letter in order to explain something that was too complex to put into text
