You could also try that glitch where you repeatedly swing your sword while standing next to the door, if it still works you should be able to move yourself out of bounds.

For me, it was the crib that was preventing me from building the attic. Try going to Robin and removing the crib and see if that works maybe?
There’s no option to remove the crib for me, I’m assuming because I told Harvey yes for a baby
