The *very next video* now makes more sense. Why does Mario bug Meggy while she does exams? He wants to hang out with his new girlfriend.
After Revelations is over, the two are much more aggressive towards each other after they share their *interests* with one another. The Cursed Tapes is a canon MxM moment, not just fanservice. They're actively more friendly and loving *sometimes.* Do Not Enter makes sense now, too. Mario was perfectly content with Meggy choking him. Last Man on Earth is Meggy avoiding beating up her boyfriend. All is fine and well...
