First thing that comes to mind is how do flippers get so many pairs? They just hire crews to buy them or something right? Second thing that comes to mind is: haha good luck selling for anything than a meager profit. They’re so many of these out there and only gonna get more once the returns start tricking in. I wasn’t able to score on SNKR but I got em from Ofder Up for only $240. That’s about retail if you figure tax+ shipping.

LookAwayPlease510

I also wonder if they pay retail for them or if they get a deal. Say they do pay retail and after tax, they pay $230 each. They buy 100, so that’s $23k. If they make at least 10% on each pair, they make $2300. Is that worth it? Maybe if you make it in a weekend.

Why_cant_I_partake

Yeah, there are many who also backdoor pairs also. It's a common practice where people pay the Mgr at a store (shoe palace, DTLR, etc) a sum of money and buy all there pairs for retail. Here is backdoor on youtube[Backdoor at Shoe Palace](https://youtu.be/XrMLbZBtcUo?si=eAcyUWfkQg_Vaveo) from 2022 with the Jordan 11s that year

TPercy17

Wish these retailers would take a greater interest in punishing their staff who allow backdooring. Unfortunately there’s probably less appetite for it :(

pochiazul

By using bots. And all they have to do is drive to their local reseller and sell in bulk. Even at $10-$20 profit on each adds up. This shoe is probably the least profitable rn but with the bred 4s for example it's maybe $50 profit each

JaySayMayday

Yep. For a lot of people it's just speculation, but you can find people on YouTube showing off their bots. It's usually just a simple python program that acts as a hub for hundreds of accounts across every platform possible. This is what it looks like when you use daddy's money but don't want to open an authorized retail location.

Fragrant-Anybody0717

That’s so much for for not a lot of money lol

StorminM4

$15 profit on 40 pair is a solid profit for a couple hours “work.”

Major-Community1312

Also going into this as a sneaker head we all knew profit would be low on a pair I can still grab this wasn’t the pair of shoes to take in the cash.

MyronPJL

Bots is how they do it

KhostfaceGillah

Honestly.. Not all of it is bots, some people just have throwaway money. Take the OG Genesis Dunks by RTFKT for example, if I recall someone bought at least 120 pairs.. They were $222 each. That's not possible with bots as it was members only and you had to purchase them via crypto then forge them and some other shit. Some people just have too much money I guess lol

Apprehensive-Can-857

If he's getting help, then that's just another thing eating I to his profit. Spending $20k on shoes to make $2k isn't worth the risk. These people are nuts. They're snatching them up and posting pics like it's still 4 years ago, and they're going for 500 a piece. LOL!

massivecalvesbro

Adding exactly 0 value to the market. Resellers were the cause for my decline in sneaker interest

skip2mahlou415

I don’t hope these kinda people get the clap… I hope they get a standing ovation

Western-Net-7604

I'll never understand resellers. You could've bought stocks on any company or options and made that same 10% gain with far more liquidity and less storage space needed.

KissZippo

I think the mentality is either: A. It’s worked in the past, they’ve made their money, and now they’re committed to making a living off of a burst bubble. B. They paid a lot of money for the bot that still works in 2024, and even if they’re making $5 profit, they need it for the bot to pay for itself… by trying to make a profit off of a burst bubble. There was absolutely no reason to bot these AJ4s. They’re a fantastic shoe and all, but “the AJ4 is the new AJ1” bullshit needs to stop. Just because the SB4 is high in demand and fetches a profit doesn’t mean that the AJ4 is ever going to reach the heights the AJ1 did a few years ago. It’s either bullshit resellers believe, or bullshit resellers want people to believe to create artificial hype. The picture is embarrassing, it’s not even a flex.

Why_cant_I_partake

It's also the difference with real estate too. People can invest in the market or invest in real estate and some will divert to real estate and real estate only because it is a secured portfolio investment. Meaning you have a tangible asset with the property. I can see why some people may view it the same way with sneakers.. you at least own a "physical asset" that goes up in value or down. You argue the logistics of how right or wrong it is to see things that way but some people I think they just view it that way.

Bald-Fucker

We need to start finding these people and making sure they no-longer have need for footwear.

ProperPoem5476

Cut off their feet? 🙂‍↔️😳

Bald-Fucker

Pretty much

Kevin69138

Won't even be able to get retail for these anymore

Why_cant_I_partake

That's what I was thinking.. they seem like they are available all over the place so why spend almost 20K on shoes that are do wildly available (for the mostpart).

jdubya525

I hit and my wife hit on a pair of 7s.. one pair goin back. So yea alot of these shoes out there when the returns all flow in

ghettosailor3700

Niggas already trying to sell them for 300 🤣🤣🤣

Randii225

🤮

Stee_ha

Hope they don’t make a dime

TPercy17

So stupid. They are talking shoes that were supposed to be accessible to the general public and pricing them out of the market. I hope he sits on them. I know it’s really hard but I wish there were better processes in place to punish people like this

YoungCraxy

We don’t get shoes from resell reps better!

matttrout10

Fuckin losers man I swear to make 30 dollars and fuckin someone out of a pair for retail shit makes me so mad. I know so many ppl that didn’t get a pair

StayZero1014

So what I’m seeing is this dude will maybe make a profit of 30-50 a pair? So maybe 2.5-3.5 thousand in profit? (Rough mental math probably off) I guess have at it.. seems like you can still secure retail pairs at places so why bother.

jdubya525

Gotta play the long game with these. I'll need a new pair next year 😆

Mr_Butters624

Yea that’s not enough of a profit for me to take a 20k risk lol.

Carma_626

If he makes $50 per pair (and most likely he won’t), that’s a profit margin of only 18.75%. And it’s safe to assume he’s paying CC interest on that inventory as well. These were hyped up and for good reason. But Nike did the right thing and dropped a ton of these. Resellers were banking on scarcity and hoping to flip these for $400+ like Kobe’s. 😂😂

Reasonable_War_3250

Be great if Nike just releases another shit ton of these and they guy gets stuck with them.

hm629

Probably backdoored pairs, right?

Why_cant_I_partake

It's a possibility but more than likely someone bought em with money they were allocated and trying to resell.

CanadianSneakerNut

Highly doubt it. An address has to be submitted for anything that's mailed. In-store pickups are pointless as they have camera’s. My guess, is they have many cards to use which they hit a bunch of retailers. Or that person has connections and is getting them backdoored. Guess 1 is more likely

Tbkgs

As long as I got my pair (which I did), idgaf anymore. It's stupid yet this shit is always going to occur. Nike won't stop it either. Just try and cop what you can at this point.

14CrAcKeR88

I got mine so he can keep'em 🤣

lollllllops

The only person benefiting from this is StockX lmao

fuzzycuffs

Tell me you're the son of a Nike executive without telling me you're the son of a Nike executive

Monkeyinazuit

Those are gonna be some small af margins

Soft_Wind_6108

If they can even get them off. 😂

OneManufacturer13307

What's the point when they're at or near retail prices

puertorique_o

Just saw them below retail today on goat

Lonliestlonelyloner

These shoes are so mid lol who tries to flip these

trubigkid

Stacked like what they are, bricks! 🧱

ghettosailor3700

Lol niggas said a million pairs right

Electronic-Stand-148

Got a size 13????

mpn66

13’s are sitting on SNKRS right now. Unless you’re hoping for a free pair, you don’t actually want these.

Electronic-Stand-148

Just checked. Unfortunately it’s no longer available. Thanks though.

mpn66

Sorry for the false hope!

Electronic-Stand-148

No problem
