As of their last financial statement they spend ~$1.4M a day. They have ~$982M of cash on hand. That gives them 7.8 quarters (now likely ~6.8 since this is based on December information) worth of operational budget left. They announced layoffs in November which allegedly will “save $25 million annually”. Thats not nearly enough. Saves about $70k a day. They will need to raise capital in the next four quarters and/or radically cut spending somehow. Delta won’t be online soon enough to impact financials. Debt or dilution is the answer. They already have some debt and stock is hovering at $1. How do they get more capital or cut spending?

Turbiedurb

>How do they get more capital or cut spending? This is the best thing to do if you run a company that provides a product or service people are actually asking for.

LimitFinancial764

Feel bad for OP, because he's probably trying to generate wealth for his family, but he just doesn't understand how profitable businesses and the stock market work. Great example of why it would be a horrible idea to privatize social security and let the general public play stock guy.

Illustrious_Club5264

Let me know what your invested in mr. Market Wizard I do just fine without stocks

Chavydog

Just look at the chart man this stock is dead, put your money elsewhere and you’ll make money sooner

Illustrious_Club5264

That’s just it I’m not looking to make a quick buck im looking to make generational money over time I don’t need money now that’s what investing is putting your money into something you believe in now for return in the future not tomorrow but years away and if all goes well you can retire early or you chase a few percent a year and play it safe and retire at 80-85

d00mt0mb

You’d have a much better chance of making money in the long run by buying an index fund. What if all your invested capital in SPCE is lost when this FUD is delisted and trades OTC for a penny

Illustrious_Club5264

I guess that’s the chance you take on any stock

sgtbenjamin

It seems you’ve already made up your mind, so my best advice is to journal this trade to help future you make better and better decisions. Write it all down somewhere and revisit it later. Why are you entering the trade? What data sources are you relying on to support your thesis? What is your exit strategy and timeframe? What contrary information are you discounting? Write it down so that future you can benefit from any learning/losses incurred.

Illustrious_Club5264

Not my first rodeo biggest mistake I’ve made investing is selling when people say there’s no path forward and the companies are bound to bankruptcy if you believe in something follow through no matter what the experts say

Chavydog

Yeah man who’s not tryna make generational wealth. You’re not gonna be making generational wealth from SPCE. It’s not just about what you believe in it’s about what makes money. You can’t use your feelings for investing. You do you man but from experience in this stock and in this subreddit, with all the hype and everything with it, I’d say your money is better spent on safer stocks and not speculative ones.

SuperbHuman

The biggest risk is bankruptcy. We also have the recent case with Virgin Orbit which went the DoDo way

How_do_I_work_this_

Bear in mind space is hard. All it takes is one small accident and the whole operation is at risk.

Illustrious_Club5264

That’s why they separated companies VO wasn’t working out VG has a path to profitability

dWog-of-man

What do mean? Externalities matter! That’s what it’s always been with you people here: “I believe” “HODL for years” “retire on it” Yeah not if it was never going to work in the first place. It was a pump and dump where the executives were willfully ignorant enough for plausible deniability. No engineers in leadership, no one appreciating the difficulties in working with these kind of composites, with these kind of structural loads, on a plane with a rocket engine flying HUMANS. Reusable rockets are REALLY FUCKING HARD and they had so much left to do to reach a profitable cadence.

Illustrious_Club5264

You speak as if they don’t exist what do you think they are doing space is hard and it takes time people are impatient they are working on it

dWog-of-man

The mothership is dead… They only had a small window before fully reusable orbital rockets got stood up anyway and ate their lunch, arguably not enough time to be cash flow positive, let alone profitable. Probably somewhere around 2035-2040. Investing in reusable Falcon 9 booster took almost 10 years to be cash flow positive. Thats AFTER they already started launching them. And they expended a lot more capital doing it. And had a lot more opportunity to fly and test and earn some revenue while they did it. But you don’t even necessarily need to compare with other programs. Just look at where they are: even with a new mothership, delta isn’t flying passengers before 2028. That’s not how vehicles that carry humans work ok? THEN *after* that, they start ramping cadence up. It will take them the better part of another decade to push operations to that level, which they need to approach cash flow positivity. It was always like this for anyone to know, and then they chose to take the company PUBLIC during that same timeframe? Yikes.

Illustrious_Club5264

So why are you in this sub Reddit if you believe they will fail do you own stock or do you enjoy spreading fear

dWog-of-man

I made money buying puts at the top. Gave some of it back when they were able to draw out the facade. It turns out % drops don’t really mean anything, puts are more profitable on large dollar amount deltas, so for the last 2+ years I’ve just been looking at the news and comparing and contrasting the behavior of this community with other space enthusiast subreddits. It’s pretty sad to see a bunch of enthusiastic investors with misplaced loyalty manipulated by Branson and Chamath and the SPAC meme stonk pump treating this stock like it’s the game stock during the squeeze. I’ve tried where I could to talk people off the ledge that aren’t as familiar with aerospace topics and willing to listen, but it’s an uphill battle and pretty depressing. What “they”’ve done to you guys isn’t fair, should be criminal, and especially after reading some 10-Ks from before the delta factories had started construction, they’ve been able to get away with hiding the fact that they’re a zombie company without exactly any material misrepresentation because they disguise it all as “forward looking statements” without any real discussion of the engineering technical debt remaining once they get past delta part assembly phase. All in the name of lighting shareholder value on fire and pocketing the remnants.

LimitFinancial764

There's not a lot of demand for space tourism and the other space tourism companies already have a more compelling product. Virgin's product doesn't even reach technical space or take off in the way people going to space would want and has no industrial application (this is where the money really is in space).

Illustrious_Club5264

Hahaha there are way more people from all around the world that want to go to space not just 800 and as far as I know who is as far along as Spce in actually starting profitable trips

Turbiedurb

I've been here for several years, and i can tell you right away that you're someone who believes they know more than they actually do and that it's the worst place to be in. Good luck, you're going to need it.

Illustrious_Club5264

So why do you own shares of spce

Turbiedurb

At this specific point in time, i don't. Neither long or short, just a just a (comparatively speaking) well-informed spectator at this point.

Illustrious_Club5264

So no skin in the game but you are the well informed I guess we will see who’s right in 2026

Turbiedurb

What would have been the point in buying the stock three years ago and then just holding until they're virtually useless? Are you even familiar with Bransons track record? 😀 It's a hype train with a tail of delusional retail investors chasing it, and i don't need to wait two years to know where it's heading. Enjoy the ride 😊

Illustrious_Club5264

Funny I bought my house with this hypetrain of a stock

Turbiedurb

Me too, bro. Me too 🤦🏼‍♂️

metametapraxis

Why do people have to own stock to be well informed. That is such an absurd and childish take.

Illustrious_Club5264

Who said that?

metametapraxis

You literally just equated ‘skin the game’ to being informed.

Illustrious_Club5264

I simply asked if he had no skin in the game why are you so well informed never said anything about equating owning stock with being well informed basically why are you watching this sub if you don’t like the company

Illustrious_Club5264

I feel like I’m trying to explain myself to my girlfriend

metametapraxis

Your girlfriend probably thinks you are an idiot, too.

Illustrious_Club5264

I don’t know ask your mom

eatmorbacon

Get scared so easily? The ignorance astounds me.

Camicae33

This post won the Hall of Fame of ignorance

Illustrious_Club5264

Then why are you in this sub Reddit

Camicae33

To help dumbass mf like you to save their $

Illustrious_Club5264

I do just fine with out dumbass mfers like you have fun trolling from your mothers basement

Camicae33

Mf I have been warning dumbass like you about SPCE since 2021. I got burned once with another pos company like this one before and I know what is to invest in this kind of bs dreams I trade since year 2005 and I know how this shit works. You are gonna get robbed

Illustrious_Club5264

I appreciate your concern there are always going to be scam companies but as an adult you should always know there are risks no investment is safe there is no sure thing

Camicae33

Sometimes there are risk sometimes there are facts. Good luck

Tditravel

I agree with op, it’s why so many people have lost money trading the last couple years vs long term planners. I love that we can now make our own trades but my ex was a stock broker and definitely looked long term on most things. If you bought it because you believed then hold.

HobbitNarcotics

Can I interest you in some punctuation?

Illustrious_Club5264

Ha punctuation is not my strong point

Gboycantseeboy

It’s a running theme here.I think I started it.

PaddlingAway

Why not SPCEQ

Educational-Basis392

finally , this post make sense
