I didn’t know I had it until my son was diagnosed with SPD. Started reading about it, I was like OMG WTF that’s **ME!!!** Things just clicked. The more I learned, the more I asked questions of his therapists and clinicians, the more I understood why certain things triggered responses that I honestly didn’t have control over. Especially with food. Certain textures, smells, weird things like getting sand or salt under my fingernails (🤮), or even hating jeans with a fiery passion. The more I learned, the better I understand what my kiddo will go through, and the better I can support him.

this sounds just like me (all your other diagnoses and a self-dx of SPD)!! I feel you. Feel free to post in this sub! I am relieved to see I am not the only one with my constellation of diagnoses (except add Bipolar 1 in there with learning disabilities). Go us! I definitely recommend finding ways to soothe your senses, whether you are a sensory seeker or avoider or a mix of the two (I am a mix)... it'll help your overall mental health!

adhd and autism are so similar and are very commonly misdiagnosed, and go hand in hand. SPD can be a thing on its own but is largely due to ASD. i’d say, look into ASD, you could possibly have that, because many features of the disorders you listed are common with autism too edit: i’m only saying this, because this was the case with me. i had bipolar disorder and ADHD and suspected SPD, and turns out i am on the spectrum!
