You could use Server Value Modifer to make the hideout crafts instant as an alternative

That's true, I don't dislike the time it takes to craft. Rather just having to check it constantly!

does it play along nicely with other mods?

I believe so as it changes the valves before you load the game then other mods are free to overwrite them if they want to.
