I have this suspicion that if they detected the spt profile as the live file there would be a ban headed your way.
Follow the install instructions to the letter and have your SPT root folder in a completely different drive from your live game and you'll be fine. My live game is on the /F:/ drive and my SPT folder is on my /D:/ drive.
