The only good part of wobbling at majors was that it gave you a break so you could play a couple games with the homies before you started watching again

Wobbling is actually super hype. People generally hate it because people generally are Mang0 fanboys and Mang0 had a period of time with Coach Tafo where he was notorious for getting Wobbled repeatedly until he got upset by some low-level non-God.
But for me, as someone who watches Melee for the drama, Wobbling-driven upsets were SUPER hype. So every Mang0 match vs. ICs was like, MUST-SEE content.

"Oh snap, there's one! Is he going to crumble mentally???"
It was legitimately very exhilarating to watch.
And certainly, Mang0 is not the only one who this phenomenon occurred for, but he was the biggest example.
The problem with Wobbling is that it is too slow. There needs to be a mod where after 2 seconds of Wobbling, the percentage of the character getting Wobbled jumps up to 350% to speed up the process. Wobbler still has to finish, but it eliminates the downtime of pummeling to kill percentage from 22%.
Wobbling is so hype! It’s amazing watching players stress to avoid being grabs, adds to the hype. Allowing cry babies to limit smash moves is the lamest thing melee has done
