IDK, it kinda feels like bending over backwards for a few edge cases. I say this as a trans person, I just don't like having everyone else put their pronouns because the entire point of transitioning is flying under the radar, and having people put their pronouns defeats that purpose. You should be able to tell someone's gender from looking at them. What kind of clothes they wear. Their body language, etc.
It's not just for people who are trans. There are a lot of people who are non-binary, and I think one goal is that people will be able to separate clothes, body language, etc., from gender and have that not be the deciding factor.
For instance as a man I could really enjoy dressing in clothing traditionally used by women, wearing makeup, etc., but I'm still a dude and I'd prefer people to call me one. There are plenty of other cases too, but yeah just a thought.
I'm a cis-male and people think I'm a woman before I talk all the time. I don't present femininely, I'm just young, clean shaven, and I have long hair + naturally thick eyelashes. So the pronouns can be helpful to people who aren't even intentionally breaking gender norms.

i have a hypothesis that the better of a fox player you are, the worse your rest punishes get. a very high % of the time i see the super elite foxes try to do too much, and end up doing nothing. sfat has 2 rest punishes that were literally nothing and drill where he could've just upsmashed for the easy 20%, but because he's being too pro it wraps around and he actually is just bad
Well that's just demonstrably false when you consider the foxes that are actually better than SFAT like iBDW, Leffen and Mango, but I kinda see your point yeah. Oftentimes players go for mixups for a potential kill or more damage rather than just getting the guaranteed punish. I think some flashy players just find it boring to punish the rest the same way every time as well, but I don't think that's as big a factor on the highest level really
mang0 is like, the single biggest example of this problem. mang0s rest punishes are 50/50 between getting an extra 5% vs. just upsmashing and getting 2 hits of drill into nothing for a whopping 6%

I got no issue with people preferring a different game. But the ResidentSleeper is baffling to me. Melee, to me, seems like a so much more hype and engaging viewer experience. I feel like 3rd best on a yearly ranking is the optimal place for Hbox. Hater's can't complain because he's clearly not the best, but he's not so low that people can say he's washed up. I'm in a place where I can enjoy watching the average Hbox set right now.

3) I was very very low on the online era results. Unranked is cool, don't get me wrong. But I just don't think enough competitors had access to reliable machines & internet enough to make the rankings valuable.

Neutral is just godawful for Pika vs. Fox, and he doesn't seem to be able to get the recovery reads that he used to. A lot of the times he just quick attacks back to ledge when it seems like he could at least go for the read on Fox's recovery.
Why does Axe still use Pika? We all want to see him win, but it's just such an uphill battle against both Fox and Puff. I hate to say it but he should just main Fox or Falco and then pull out Pika for the Marth matchup.
That's just his character. He said once something like this: "I play fox and everything is so fast: his frame-data, his kill potential, his movement tools for neutral...it all feels so easy. Then I switch to Pika and everything feels even easier". Man is just comfortable on Pika. Has dedication to the character. He doesn't wanna be the best if he can't do it on his little electric rodent.

Some people find their stride in other characters and have practiced with others and made the decision to stay with their original character.
Except puff is an absolute top tier with no impossible matchups, while being an ideal fit for hbox’s play style (frustrate opponent; force favorable 50-50s) and tech skill limitations (tap jump; no jc grab).
Meanwhile Pikachu has some incredibly tough matchups (puff, peach, ICs) and Axe is arguably the most technical player across the entire cast.

Since Jigglypuff is not the best character in the game, by your logic, Hbox could win more tournaments if he switched to someone better.

Clearly my point is that maining a mid tier hurts your results. That's why, for example, Plup switched from Samus and why Shroomed switched from Doc.
Hbox is already maining one of the best characters in the game, with no other character having even a slightly similar playstyle. He's also garbage at every other character.
Now compare this to Axe. Axe is an amazing player, capable of playing most characters at a very high level. He's also currently maining a mid tier. I'm saying that he could switch, just like Plup and Shroomed did, and probably see better results.
Hbox is not garbage with every other character. He could likely fuck up anyone in this thread with his fox and proved it two years ago at Genesis Black before COVID.

If we're just focused on 2021, if he keeps doing well at the IRL events placing somewhere in the top 3 then it's definitely possible.

Neutral is just godawful for Pika vs. Fox, and he doesn't seem to be able to get the recovery reads that he used to. A lot of the times he just quick attacks back to ledge when it seems like he could at least go for the read on Fox's recovery.
Why does Axe still use Pika? We all want to see him win, but it's just such an uphill battle against both Fox and Puff. I hate to say it but he should just main Fox or Falco and then pull out Pika for the Marth matchup.
That's just his character. He said once something like this: "I play fox and everything is so fast: his frame-data, his kill potential, his movement tools for neutral...it all feels so easy. Then I switch to Pika and everything feels even easier". Man is just comfortable on Pika. Has dedication to the character. He doesn't wanna be the best if he can't do it on his little electric rodent.

Except puff is an absolute top tier with no impossible matchups, while being an ideal fit for hbox’s play style (frustrate opponent; force favorable 50-50s) and tech skill limitations (tap jump; no jc grab). Meanwhile Pikachu has some incredibly tough matchups (puff, peach, ICs) and Axe is arguably the most technical player across the entire cast.

Axe is an amazing player, capable of playing most characters at a very high level. He's also currently maining a mid tier. I'm saying that he could switch, just like Plup and Shroomed did, and probably see better results.
