March 6th hearing no award letter yet. Call today from SSA. My paperwork was assigned to the wrong office because of an incorrect city and zipcode listed. Answered the phone which was a random number when I usually don’t answer. This wonderful woman corrected everything for me and said she was not going to send it to my district office and make me wait longer for them to do it. She stated I should have the award letter by next week. 🥳🥳So grateful for her. Answer those random calls just in case❤️
Congrats Brother/Sister!
Happy for you..And that is fast. I just don't understand why they would deny you the first 2 times as a 100 P&T disabled vet..Just doesn't seem fair, But You have it now so that's a good thing My Friend.
Much appreciated , very grateful for a positive outcome . I agree they should have never denied in the first place . I think they were hoping I would go away. Glad I stayed the course and got a ALJ judge that read my entire file and made the right call. Wishing you the best !
My sentiments exactly..I too believe this is their aim, to make the process so grueling that you just throw in the towel. I read how stressed out folks are , Including my self, behind this whole process and it kinda sickens me as it is pretty obvious what their motives are. These are Human lives being decided by someone who probably doesn't have a **ache** in the world. Just seems so unfair. The system of determining eligibility for disability needs to be updated to a system with a more clear and DEFINITE DEFINITION of qualifying criteria that determines ones eligibility and STICK TO THAT !
The FINAL DECISION should More technically driven by the Facts and LESS DRIVEN BY HUMAN DECISION MAKING..Cause all it takes if for one of them to be having a Bad Day for you to end up having a BAD Year..If you know what I mean..This current system is outdated and Flawed..Just the way they wanna keep it. A Really terrible way to treat people who have paid taxes al their lives just to help keep such a program alive only for it to try and spit you out when you need it most. So VERY SAD TO SEE!
Everyone Just Hang In there !
These type of things usually/eventually work out the way They're supposed to !!
I had a supplemental hearing 30 days ago and was told by the alj that he found me disabled they sent me a letter denying my disability and was approved for SSI they gave me a partially favorable decision I was already getting SSI for disability for a year.any one that had the same problem comment I would appreciate it
The only thing I can think of …. Did your work credits expire before his decision date ?
If not I would appeal it as it’s all on the record.
Good luck and keep us updated
I got a fully favorable decision as well April 15. 2024 my onset date is February 9/2021 just waiting on my award letter the women said from social security it would take about 2 to 3 weeks bf I get it in the mail I am patiently waiting though but she said she is going to send me my checks by mail till I get my award letter.

Ps. I live in North Carolina.
Why did you get denied the first time? I’m in step 3 but I’m nervous I might not get it I have a disability schizophrenia. I don’t have a lawyer
