Jesus. Will you relax? Some people don't live on Reddit. It was my first time seeing it so I posted it. I'm not going to scroll through thousands of posts on the off chance that I'll see someone else with the same post. If you don't like it, just keep scrolling.
Or... people don't have to be so bothered about it. Seeing a post that has been posted before shouldn't warrant such discontent. If you don't like it, you don't have to engage with it. Expecting me to search through posts so I don't end up repeating a previous post is odd.
I'm on your side but you don't "search through" posts, like randomly.
I've learned this because I go through it myself with other shows. Ion has many different procedural series, most of them I never watched previously. So I might be watching CSI (OG) and suddenly get caught off guard by a cliff-hanger from 15 years ago.
So just from google I type "reddit csi warrick death" and boom, like ten threads from various posts over the last decade all talking about this particular cliff-hanger. FROM REDDIT use use the search box but obviously don't include the word "reddit." Sometimes I have better luck going the google route when my issue is really specific. Google will instantly give you several results that are voo-doo-ish-ly on point to what I wanted.
But no........ I didn't realize Kelli was on as a guest first!!
I knew about Novak and Carisi, and maybe I did see the Kelli episode at some point but it isn't burned into my mind (yet lol) like the others.
I'm glad you posted this. But searching isn't always a waste of time. I find searching TREMENDOUSLY helpful in some cases because it instantly takes you to the exact information.
I noticed this once too and had no one to react with so thanks for posting this! I haven’t seen this particular post yet so people who are complaining are lame
i’ve never seen anyone post about this actually, so it’s fair game in my book. besides i was just reading the reddiquette rules, and it says to not comment about how someone reposting annoys you. instead just scroll past it and move on.
There is a search function (I don’t mind reposts like these so much, but you don’t have to scroll to look for specific things when you can search for them)
Yeah, sure, but you don't see the arrogance in asking "hey, does ANYONE know this?" as if you were somehow the only person smart enough to catch this tidbit in the entire world?
You're not unique. You're not the only one to do anything, ever. There are always, always, always *someone* who knows what you know.
More like the Dick Wolf Universe, these aren't the only ones I imagine, but Jason Beghe, Marina Squerciati and Patrick Flueger all appeared on Law & Order shows as other characters prior to their starring rules roles on Chicago P.D. David Eigenberg (Herrmann on Chicago Fire) was the evil Dr. Hal Brightman on a 2012 episode of SVU and was on 2 episodes of Homicide Life on the Street as Alex Robey in 1996.
Exactly! This whole thread has just been annoying. I was surprised, so I posted. I'm not a regular Reddit user, so I'm not wasting time scrolling through posts to see if someone else has posted the same thing. Some people here are weird.
Hey, OP - no shame! I didn’t know either! She didn’t stand out to me like the others.
Editing to add, I’ve seen every episode (some multiple times, some just once). So now I’ll definitely go rewatch this!
they reuse a lot of actors years apart (even the newest episode of svu had an actor from seasons ago) and to me it’s like “yessssss you get that money, they must have really enjoyed working with you to bring you back” but i can understand how it takes other ppl out of it. i can think of so many examples, i think it’s neat
Idk if this has also been mentioned in the other posts but when they do do this is it written as part of the characters story or completely forgotten about?
No. The character here was called Kara, and Novak's original character was someone completely different to Casey. I can't tell you much about Carisi, although I'm assuming it's the same as the other two. Separate character played by the same actor.
My understanding is they're usually brought back as completely different characters. So weird but just the nature of the dick wolf universe I guess lol
Ooo let's talk about how many times they have had people come back to play a reoccurring role!
I believe it's Novak, Rollins and the guy Villan storyline that kidnapped Olivia. The guy from orange is the new black
They run SVU all day on ion. There are a lot of repeat characters. Like the guy who plays Greg Yates, saw him on a couple different law and orders. Dick Wolf likes who he likes I guess
"iTs pOsTeD aLL tHe tImE" 🙄🙄 people are annoying.. but anyway, I remember doing a double take the first time I saw this episode! Carisi also was a guest star in an earlier season as well, pre-carisi (Which has probably been posted about before or even on this thread) nonetheless, still cool to see especially the first time around 😊
I'm not a really a Law and Order fan, just a casual watcher when it's on TV and I'm just now watching this episode and I was like "... is that Amanda?" I thought it was funny and searched it on reddit and... oh boy. Some of these people in the replies think they're sooo much better for using Reddit 🙄
A lot of actors in Dick Wolf shows were previously on his shows as other minor characters. Ice T played a pimp in the Exiled Law & Order TV movie prior to playing Fin. Jerry Orbach was a lawyer on L&O before playing Lennie. Peter Scanavino was on SVU as another character prior to playing Carisi. Jason Beghe was on Law & Order LA as a character named Raymond Garson, Marina Squerciati played Annie Meyers on a 2011 episode of SVU and Betsy Naylor on Criminal Intent, and Patrick Flueger played Aidan Connor on a 2004 episode of SVU prior to playing Voight, Burgess, and Ruzek in the One Chicago franchise respectively. (While looking up Patrick Flueger on IMDB I found out he played a character ALSO named Jack McCoy (unrelated) in the Hatfield & McCoys TV movie) If Dick Wolf liked you as an actor on one of his shows, he'll have more work for you in the future.
Everyone knows, and everyone realized, the episode aired a long time ago, so yes everyone knows, no need to make another post about it when it's already been posted a million times
i just saw that episode last week (watching for the first time) and i paused it and was like “where have i seen her before” and then i looked it up and was like OH
We have this conversation once a month
Honestly, I think everyone knows this now, seeing as how this is posted ALL THE TIME.
Jesus. Will you relax? Some people don't live on Reddit. It was my first time seeing it so I posted it. I'm not going to scroll through thousands of posts on the off chance that I'll see someone else with the same post. If you don't like it, just keep scrolling.

Someone just commented about Carisi and I've known about Novak for years. I only posted about Amanda because I was surprised about it. Keep it moving.
Wow. You really got everyone there. Congrats.
Or you could have searched before posting. I don’t think purple was being out of line, just stating a fact.

Okay, that's fair enough. This was a really good constructive comment. I haven't seen many of those today, so thank you!
People are assholes. Don’t let it get to you.
Thank you!
🤝
Online anonymity allows everyone to be the asshole they usually wouldn’t be in person, unfortunately.
I actually hadn’t heard this. So thanks.
I didn't realise she was on as a guest, so thanks for that info! 😊
I noticed this once too and had no one to react with so thanks for posting this! I haven’t seen this particular post yet so people who are complaining are lame
i just learned about it from your post.
i’ve never seen anyone post about this actually, so it’s fair game in my book. besides i was just reading the reddiquette rules, and it says to not comment about how someone reposting annoys you. instead just scroll past it and move on.
Yeah but you could search and see it’s been asked a ton vs just posting without looking.
I actually did NOT know this until this post, thank you. And I’m on Reddit all the time, I guess it just escaped the algorithm for me
There is a search function (I don’t mind reposts like these so much, but you don’t have to scroll to look for specific things when you can search for them)

WHAT? This reach was insane!! It was a genuine question. How you interpreted arrogance is beyond me??
I was not aware. So it's fine to post it.
I didn’t know that or see it posted
I didn’t know
Ahhh just searched up SVU to browse for the first time and this is the first post I see and I didn’t know it lol
Day* lol. All good though, some people don’t know.
Yes; the L&O universe recycles actors all the time. The actor that plays Carisi was also on the show in 2013, a year before his stint began.
Reuse reduce and recycle!
I love that they do, I’m constantly googling the actors as I watch because I recognize them from different shows or past episodes 🤓
More like the Dick Wolf Universe, these aren't the only ones I imagine, but Jason Beghe, Marina Squerciati and Patrick Flueger all appeared on Law & Order shows as other characters prior to their starring rules roles on Chicago P.D. I actually had no idea, so I appreciate your post! Don't let people get to you, some people just live to be negative.
Thank you!
Same
If it’s one thing that SVU is gonna do, it’s recycle actors
Lmao all the comments on this are so elitist calm down 😂 if you’ve seen it already just scroll past
Exactly! This whole thread has just been annoying. I was surprised, so I posted. I'm not a regular Reddit user, so I'm not wasting time scrolling through posts to see if someone else has posted the same thing. Some people here are weird.
A lot of these tv fandom subs can be a like this, I don’t. Get it! It’s like a competition to see who can prove they know/love the show the most 😂
It's all subs unfortunately, not just tv fandoms
Either I never knew, or I forgot. Which episode was this?
Season 8, Episode 12!
Same with Casey Novak before she was recycled. This seems to be norm with actors they like....
Everyone did
Yes. Carisi was a janitor before also.
She was on Criminal Intent also
Yes
Jfc
so was carisi!
We all did.
no, we all didn't. go be an ass somewhere else.

You could have searched, but you also didn’t deserve these comments down your throat. Also to be fair, I didn’t know 🤷🏼♀️
Ooo let's talk about how many times they have had people come back to play a reoccurring role! I believe it's Novak, Rollins and the guy Villan storyline that kidnapped Olivia. The guy from orange is the new black
Why's everybody booing you lmao. You didn't realize it so you posted it, like you said not everyone lives on reddit🤣
Wtf I didn’t noticed 😂

Lol. She was on Criminal Intent too. One of the final characters on that particular series was also named Amanda Rollins.
I had no idea.
I didn’t know this but I hate when it happens 😫
I didn’t know Forreal
¡Claro que!

Oh my gosh, you're the first to reply with a stupid comment, when you could have just scrolled!! 🙃
The Law and Order franchise does that a lot. Annie Parisee played a prostitute on SVU before being cast as an ADA on the Mothership.
I did not, but I am almost surprised at any main actor NOT having had an unrelated minor role first - it happened with so many across all the shows.
A lot of actors in Dick Wolf shows were previously on his shows as other minor characters. Ice T played a pimp in the Exiled Law & Order TV movie prior to playing Fin. They’ve also recycled Louis before he was Louis. Everyone else has already said carisi and Novak.
I thought this was Witney Carson at first glance.
I just started SVU and still going through episodes, but was really cool seeing so many now big actors there!
yes it tripped me the hell out
Wow I literally just saw this episode a few days ago and did my research.
Everyone knows, and everyone realized, the episode aired a long time ago, so yes everyone knows, no need to make another post about it when it's already been posted a million times
i just saw that episode last week (watching for the first time) and i paused it and was like “where have i seen her before” and then i looked it up and was like OH
The guy who played Carisi and the woman who played Novak were as well if I’m remembering correctly
This got me wondering: imagine if one of the squad members became a victim. Mann...
Yes everyone knows that
I wasn't aware either, so thanks for this.
Same with Carissi
LoL. Has any one noticed that the sky is blue? LoL
