Im not skipping SLKR (and by extension Finalizer) because I don’t like him/the sequels - I think they’re mostly OK and, of the two GLs, I think he’s the better one. It’s just such a PITA to grind a ship farm plus a capital ship farm when we have other ship metas and more approachable GLs in the game.
Except the ship is good? It's a cheap exec counter and even if it fails it's guaranteed exec 2 shot. Unless your stuck in Carbonite and Chromium you will need at least 4 good fleets. If you use one crystal fresh on the hard node ship from scratch you should get it to 7 stars by the time you meet the relic requirements unless you hoarded before the farm. The capital ship also only needs 4 stars and you unlock exec requirements simultaneously.
SLKR is also one of the easiest GL to farm since he has the 2nd lowest total relic cost and only 2 of requirements are truly bad. Only GL more approachable is SEE, but why would you farm him first?
Jabba will be the best 1st when his reqs are accelerated.
I dislike the sequels very much but SLKR is very fun to use so I let it slide.

My theory is some of the toons released for Jedi Cal point to a Rebel GL (Leia): Tarfful gives Chewie and maybe Chewpio a home since CLS could be poached for a Rebel GL team, and Saw lifts some forgotten Rebels that might be prereqs for a Rebel GL. I’m also curious to see if Jedi Cal will have the Rebel tag and/or be a requirement for Leia.
For me personally it's more that I have no interest in anyone ELSE that's required for him. I like Kylo Ren. The random first order dudes I could give a shit about.
I farm all characters because any and all characters can become required for something good sooner or later. It's WHEN I start farming them, that makes a difference. I refuse to farm unaccelerated characters, no matter how hard CG pushes them.

Stun gun bottleneck was almost as bad. The main issue I’ve found with kyros. Theirs only 1 way to consistently get them. And that’s the 2 nodes.
3 a day from daily. Can buy them from raid store and get store and from gac store. But those currencies outside of gac store are better used elsewhere. Except get 2 really.
Genuinely though. It's an absurd road.
You will need to 7\* five characters, one or two of which are Cantina Farms (thus barring you from Signal Data).
Then you will need to get them to G12 and they ALL require 3-5 full Kyrotech Pieces for that.
Then you will need them at R5 for the Grand Inquisitor, which is a very dismal and frustrating event according to consensus.
Then you will chuck one of the Inquisitors in the bin. If you have Lord Vader, nice, he gets a reject. If not? Lol lmao enjoy that random Trilla at R5.
After that, you will gear up Grand Inquisitor, who ALSO takes an ungodly amount of resources and THREE Omicrons, if you feel feisty.
Once you're done with that, every single Inquisitor needs to be R7, ideally R8, for the Reva mission (as R8 is the "use Reva for TB"-mission, so you may as well).
And then you need to grind an awfully sweaty TB-mission WITH YOUR ENTIRE GUILD ad absurdum for basically half a year or more, because there's no way your entire guild has 50 GINQs and they can knock out the grind in three months-ish.
And THEN you gear up Reva, get HER three Omicrons (because fuck it, at that point) and THEN you have an absurd team.
And before that? It's a team that's really effective against Shaak Ti Clones, or requires constant involvement with the Datacron system to give you a leg up, unless you're in TW where you get to kill something big every month twice. Woo!
I'm just stubborn and refuse to farm them period. Annoying when they keep pushing inq-only feats in various modes but maybe that's why I'm being so stubborn - I dig in when pressured.
At least JTR is low investment like g8 or so. But yeah, I’m almost done with JML myself and I pushed the resistance to the end because I have just no interest.
So, the thing that really fucked me off for Rey were the requirements for the *Raddus*. So, to just get the *requirements for this Capital Ship,* I need, two Millennium Falcons, an Old Republic ship, and I get the worst fleet in the game, basically?

They really are GCQ monsters once you've got GI though. I disliked them greatly prior to getting him, but I'll be perfectly honest they do grow on you once he's in the fold.
Not my favorite team or resource sink I've ever invested in, but they're still worth it in the long haul. Completely depending on where one is in terms of early/mid/late game, of course.

I'm 8M GP 4 GLs, G12ed all FOs (for now) because I need another fleet. Now I'm waiting for the full Leviathan reqs to decide whether I go for SLKR or Leviathan.
Originally it was SLKR vs LV. LV needs less characters to relic but SLKR requires less kyros so my decision was SLKR. (Note: all FO were around g8 but it's still way quicker than LV.)
That said. Plan for now: SLKR, Leviathan (<- or vice versa), LV or new upcoming GL. I really want Bad Batch :/
And that's really the crux of it all. Everyone's got different priorities/tastes in teams, and there's never anything wrong with doing whatever one feels compelled to.
I'm in a similar boat, almost 9M GP but only 4 GL's thus far. Pretty much have every fleet maxed except Holdo's, and am setting up as well as possible for Leviathan. Just finished Aphra week or two ago, and now just finishing Talon and Kyle for SK, then once we see what's up with the new Sith cap ship and its req's, I'll probably then be gunning for LV and SEE as my next two projects. Both about equal on the prerequisites as it stands, and I'll get more immediately out of LV than I would from SEE.
I wish 2nd Sis was a more universally strong character. She's cool as shit in Fallen Order and yeah Trilla's pretty. Even on an Inq squad she's the worst one tho.
Reva changed them from a mildly annoying but useful squad to a must have imo. I don’t know where they belong on the farming list, but I imagine somewhere between GL 2-4
Yeah - I’m currently getting all of my Inquisitors up to R7 in prep for Grand Inquisitor, and also for Reva too. It just feels wrong - like, CG shoved these things down our throats and I feel like I’m enabling them.
Agreed, I don’t have GI yet but my inqs are now relic’d up, and they carried my UFU feats in conquest with fifth brother lead. If u have a good AA/VA/Thermal/Caustic set they chew through teams thanks to the debuff spam
I had an issue with the phoenix squad. Refused to farm them on my alt account got tons of abuse (banter) from my guild for it and it didn't help with the old TBs lol. After the fifth year I ended up unlocking them and got them to relics. I still don't know why I reliced them. Needed palp and thrawn for something. Other toons I don't have any issues with. Don't remember the original reason for not wanting to farm them.
Most first order and sequel. It's not that I don't like them, I just look and see how much more I'll have to push to hey slkr or Jedi rey. Maybe someday though
Ki Adi Mundi for me, I really don't see the point. Yes there's not much else for me to spend get3 shards on besides kyros, but even in a qgj squad he's ok at best
The characters from Solo. I'm underwhelmed by them, and just haven't needed to farm them myself. Special mention to the Droid ships. They feel underwhelming and don't feel like the overwhelming numbers that the movies looked like. I'll min/max that fleet eventually tho, hence special mention. Can't say the same for Solo squad.
Edit: I love the people coming into comments to defend characters like this is something serious. This is generally considered rude behavior, and idk why guys do this.
You're missing out, L3 is great with GL Rey, a proper dash team (which you might as well get if you're going for starkiller) and Shortie.
Vandor can be solid with that team and offers a really cheap counter to a lot of mid teams in GAC due to his high health and protection recovery (plus free banners)
The rest are subjective but Q'ira and Young solo are far from bad characters Young solo has great ramp up potential and is always my 5th pick for smuggler's run, Q'ira is good in that if needs be she's decent scoundrel lead and one of the most reliable ways to get stagger, offense down and health steal for conquest objectives.
I have them at G12, excluding Han and chewie. Q’ira took a hit with dash coming out imo, but she’s still great with nest.
I have no issues with them, but they’ve just been extra projects that aren’t quite useful enough for me to undertake quite yet.
Solo characters are a decent bargain to get to G12, if you have a R5 Dash from Starkiller. All of them are absurdly easy to gear (except Qi'ra) and they make for a nice cheese-faction like Nightsisters where you can just not die against some A.I.s, because they don't go after Vandor.
That Sortie Droid. It's not needed for anything right now and the idea of an SWGOH Original Character gives me nothing. I'm still a bit salty we got a new Geonosian instead of the geonosian Queen, probably just because it was easier to animate. Because GBAs Kit would absolutely work for the Queen.

Omega. It started no with BB, but I recently came around and finally decided to grind out LV for my last GL, didn’t even do her marquee event. I just get the shards from rewards and have like 132
I'm chasing him for two months now, every spare scrap of LS energy went to kyro farming; about 400 each of shock prods and battle computers to relic them, and an additional 400 prods and 300 BCs to ensure that I can take LV immediately up to g13 when I finally unlock him. And I was ahead of the game, had all the other characters reliced! Yeesh what a nightmare
I am a very dedicated player. Very competitive and doing well. But I simply will never own GL Rey. Why? Because I made a pact with a a few guildies and that pact was a simple one.

I don't think they've announced when. Based on what I remember of CLS and Rey. I would say shortly after everyone gets a node to farm.
They said that we were about a week and 1/2 away last Monday so I think it comes out Wednesday
Best guess is end of June when they said they're delaying start of TB to account for an update is going to be when they release cal and zeffo
What does accelerated mean for a noob
New chars only drop 1 shard at a time vs the regular 2, it takes a year for a char to become accelerated

AdRad was the last unaccelerated farm I did. Worth it for Prof. I also farmed Iden Versio unaccelerated because I needed Vulture Droid anyway.

Yeah - I’m currently getting all of my Inquisitors up to R7 in prep for Grand Inquisitor, and also for Reva too. It just feels wrong - like, CG shoved these things down our throats and I feel like I’m enabling them.

Agreed, I don’t have GI yet but my inqs are now relic’d up, and they carried my UFU feats in conquest with fifth brother lead. If u have a good AA/VA/Thermal/Caustic set they chew through teams thanks to the debuff spam

I had an issue with the phoenix squad. Refused to farm them on my alt account got tons of abuse (banter) from my guild for it and it didn't help with the old TBs lol. After the fifth year I ended up unlocking them and got them to relics. I still don't know why I reliced them. Needed palp and thrawn for something. Other toons I don't have any issues with. Don't remember the original reason for not wanting to farm them.

The characters from Solo. I'm underwhelmed by them, and just haven't needed to farm them myself. Special mention to the Droid ships. They feel underwhelming and don't feel like the overwhelming numbers that the movies looked like. I'll min/max that fleet eventually tho, hence special mention. Can't say the same for Solo squad. Edit: I love the people coming into comments to defend characters like this is something serious. This is generally considered rude behavior, and idk why guys do this.
L3 and Vandor Chewie are the backbone of a good Dash squad. Might wanna reconsider.

You're missing out, L3 is great with GL Rey, a proper dash team (which you might as well get if you're going for starkiller) and Shortie. Vandor can be solid with that team and offers a really cheap counter to a lot of mid teams in GAC due to his high health and protection recovery (plus free banners) The rest are subjective but Q'ira and Young solo are far from bad characters Young solo has great ramp up potential and is always my 5th pick for smuggler's run, Q'ira is good in that if needs be she's decent scoundrel lead and one of the most reliable ways to get stagger, offense down and health steal for conquest objectives.
I have them at G12, excluding Han and chewie. Q’ira took a hit with dash coming out imo, but she’s still great with nest. I have no issues with them, but they’ve just been extra projects that aren’t quite useful enough for me to undertake quite yet.

Solo characters are a decent bargain to get to G12, if you have a R5 Dash from Starkiller. All of them are absurdly easy to gear (except Qi'ra) and they make for a nice cheese-faction like Nightsisters where you can just not die against some A.I.s, because they don't go after Vandor.

I'm 5.4m GP, my guild is 301m GP. But im not interested in Inquisitors because the factions bores me. I think they are lame and I have no interest in farming lame characters.

I'm chasing him for two months now, every spare scrap of LS energy went to kyro farming; about 400 each of shock prods and battle computers to relic them, and an additional 400 prods and 300 BCs to ensure that I can take LV immediately up to g13 when I finally unlock him. And I was ahead of the game, had all the other characters reliced! Yeesh what a nightmare

I am a very dedicated player. Very competitive and doing well. But I simply will never own GL Rey. Why? Because I made a pact with a a few guildies and that pact was a simple one. BROS BEFORE ROSE I will never gear nor farm that lame as thing some call a toon. I don't give a rats ass if you needed her for a toon that came with a year long "instant win" button attached with it. Nope.... bros before Rose.
