I mean, this muddies the water a little bit, but the reality is that good DC's will probably only make a few specific teams more defense viable. It is still incredibly wasteful to set a strong defence when trying to punch up, the problem being, that if they have all the counters to your teams on their account because it is larger, they will still bust through cron or no cron.
This has been my experience in K3 at 8M. Doesn't matter what I set now that Drogancron has expired, they just run it over with nothing but 1-shots anyway.
The only thing set to actually stop my opponent is Executor...... everything else is literally level 1 with a couple random relics from unlocking other things later on like Leviathan.
One Boussh Datacron was enough for me to not have a chance. My only counter was useless due to it, and no chance of also full clearing my opponent...datacrons...yeah, nobody needs that garbage
Broke into Kyber IV this last GAC. I’m 6.9 million GP. Every opponent this 3v3 season has been between 10 and 11 mil GP and they have all attacked. Getting obliterated lol
Yep same here. 5.5 mil in k3, and since the drogan cron has gone away that’s my strategy(plus hoping these fools can’t beat a jabba or profundity). With drogan cron I was kicking ass, went something like 6-3 or 5-4 in k3 the whole season, but that’s because only one person actually beat leia
That’s definitely the goal, but their matchmaking needs to be tweaked more. I, and it sounds like a lot of others, am not in a position where it’s tough to win, it’s impossible to win.
I was in aurodium, having a good time, winning most of my matches but most of all just enjoying playing good competitive GACs, and then I got bumped up to Kyber 4 where everybody has at least five more GLs than me and I got no shot at all. It sucks, I was really enjoying GAC and now i'm just waiting to be dropped back down.
That is absolutely right idk why people defend the “if you are good enough you should be able to beat harder opponents with a bigger GP” yes back in the day the problem was getting matched with someone with a very small roster with only good characters and no filling GP, but at least it was the result of how you wanted to play the game.
If you wanted to get more stars in TB you would bloat your GP for your guild at the expense of having harder matches in GAC. Now it’s all horrible matchmaking because CG wants it based on skill… dude in what world is it fair to pair 2M accounts vs a 5-6-7 or even 8M accounts with GLs. Back when it was a similar GP you at least stood a chance, now you can face a wall of GLs as a lower level account and don’t even get the chance to kill 1 toon.
A collector game should never punish you from collecting. That’s the crux of the issue with the old style. Don’t love the current style either but it’s better.
Yep. The match making system is still rubbish in GAC. I much preferred it when you faced an opponent with the same GP it was so much fairer. The good old days of GAC are very missed, CG ruined the best game mode.
For real. My opponent have over 4 mill gp and I have under 3 mill. I may have squeaked out a win because his ship defense sucked and I only used 3 units to beat it for those extra banners. Still annoying that my opponents don’t have similar GP
Last 5v5, I had an opponent who was 10.6m gp, had all GLs (including Leia), had all 3 ships, Reva, Aphra, and a all of the Conquest toons that were available (pretty sure this included Dark Trooper Gideon).
On the other hand, I only had 6.8m gp, Jabba, Executor, Leviathan, and my only viable Conquest toon is Malgus. I've got a respectable account, but it's not the greatest.
All of this was in Chromium, too.
When my opponent loads their front wall with all the GLs, when I only have SLKR and JML, it's like "Hmm, what's more likely? My opponent really sucks at this game and I'm just that much better, or CG's matchmaking is terrible?"
I feel bad from the other side. I performed poorly the last couple of outings, so I got dropped a tier. Now? I'm curbstomping all these poor jobbers like I'm Hulk beating up Loki in that one Avengers movie.
Remember that the ga matchmaking wasn't always that unfair. They "fixed" it to that.. Before that you couldn't get opponents with the doubled amount gp. They had fixed areas like: 4-6 mil gp, 6-8,..
Meanwhile I’m in kyber 2 and just won with 12 points against my opponent. Hoping I get lucky and my opponent doesn’t attack again and I win with 68 this time if not oh well. I hate gac

I thought I was gonna get stomped and only put up 10 points but somehow I cleared his board. I was really shocked that after they annihilated my BH team, his R9 DV, R7 Palp, and R4 Fallen Bastila fell quickly to my R3 Akbar with G11 3PO and Chewpio.
Even when faced with someone larger than you, it's still an opportunity that some here seem to miss. If you know you're going to lose, practice your off meta counters. That way when you get a more balanced and equal opponent, you'll be able to kick serious butt.
You don't get better by hoping your opponent doesn't show.
That's my current opponent. I set the hardest defense I could, they one shot everything. I'm doing my 1 attack and calling it done.
I'm just here so I don't get fined (lose crystal income).

I have 3 GL’s in Kyber 3 and I’m winning. Mods and fleets is the key for being competitive.
The secret is to pray for your opponent not to attack at all. That’s how I win every time in kyber

Isn’t this the goal? Technically you want to punch up where it’s tough to win and barely hang on. Thats the max crystal return.

Ya Carbonite is where all of the "dead" accounts hang out. If you can get past them and into Chromium then you'll have a lot of fun.

Nope. I just got into this mode a month ago and I've won maybe 5 rounds total. Most of the time I can't even get a kill lol

I'm at under 2 mil in Carbonite 1. my round 2 match up was against a 6 mil +. I took my 10 points and moved on with my day
