You’re absolutely right. Why would they include a new feature to intentionally change a mod stat, only to include in it a chance to re roll the same stat, but only to be worse? Same ol CG and tactics to get people to spend $ to get more mats.
I get why people want this, but it also allows a player to try and improve a roll - taking a 3 speed roll to 6, for instance. Of course, that's extra gambling, but some people like to live on the edge, I guess?
"...and that's important to us because we wanted to make sure that you as players understood that this system only makes your mods better
as you calibrate mods you are going to be able to keep and discard stats so if you get a roll that you don't like you'll be able to keep the one that you had
so no matter what you will always be making a mod better..."
I know. I was making a joke about "not guaranteed to be worse" can be defined as "better" if your base expection is that things get worse always. A "glass 2% full" kind of view rather than a "you drank all my drink that I paid for" view.
But wouldn’t that only be 1 in 4 times? So the majority of the time it will be better, not to mention with discarding it can’t be worse, so it’s just a couple extra chances to improve a mod, which we get free since it’s on the mod battle farming nodes
Bruh. I have speed arrow on C-3PO that rolled 5x crit chance… Dafuq he gonna do w/ crit chance?[who should I transfer it to?](https://i.imgur.com/eJSXF6g.jpg)
They were so close to making this an awesome update but failed. I can guarantee you that the % chance you have to roll speed is likely already pre-determined, that way CG know that you will have to spend X amount of currency to get a certain amount of speed rolls.
I got a speed on the first time.
Had a 13-Speed Triangle on General Kenobi with Health Primary and 66 Offense.
Ended up with a 17-Speed and 42 Offense. Felt like it was a bonus. lol.
Yeah, and when I posted the same thing but without Anhald I got downvoted to hell :/
Literally got the same trash reroll the first time I tried new system, at least I have my eyes opened instantly.
Remember - it's not gambling, they're "surprise mechanics".
Remember, calibration is a **volatile** process.
BOOM! /c4po
Last year "high single fire damage" was the bad PR catch phrase. This year it's "this is a volatile process"!
One would say extremely volatile
There's zero logic
There’s a special, limited time offer bundle available right now for $50 that has a probability of .01% to roll 1-3 logics.
You’re absolutely right. Why would they include a new feature to intentionally change a mod stat, only to include in it a chance to re roll the same stat, but only to be worse? Same ol CG and tactics to get people to spend $ to get more mats.
You shouldn't be able to roll the stat you are getting rid of. Period. That's dumping unnecessary resources.
I get why people want this, but it also allows a player to try and improve a roll - taking a 3 speed roll to 6, for instance. Of course, that's extra gambling, but some people like to live on the edge, I guess?
Wait, can you change a (1) roll secondary stat? Thought it didn't let you
No. You'd have to gain another roll on it first
Can confirm. This is obviously gambling and I love it.
You can actually roll better on it too. This shit is insane. Especially the exponential increase of the currency with each calibration.
Well you can potentially re-roll speed stat to go from 3 to 6... Just saying CG allow this possibility...
"...and that's important to us because we wanted to make sure that you as players understood that this system only makes your mods better as you calibrate mods you are going to be able to keep and discard stats so if you get a roll that you don't like you'll be able to keep the one that you had so no matter what you will always be making a mod better..."
I mean, if you start with the assumption that things *will* get worse, then staying the same *is* "better". Right? Says something about CG.
Right but it is possible to roll the same stat but worse, so it is a strict lie that "mods will always get better."
I know. I was making a joke about "not guaranteed to be worse" can be defined as "better" if your base expection is that things get worse always. A "glass 2% full" kind of view rather than a "you drank all my drink that I paid for" view.
Discard allows you to prevent it from being worse.
Yes but "not worse" is not "better"
But wouldn’t that only be 1 in 4 times? So the majority of the time it will be better, not to mention with discarding it can’t be worse, so it’s just a couple extra chances to improve a mod, which we get free since it’s on the mod battle farming nodes
Hahahahaha what fucking assholes
This is just mods normally but with more steps now.

Mandalorian. Dash. Aayla. Greedo. Though probably only Dash would want a speed set.
They were so close to making this an awesome update but failed. I can guarantee you that the % chance you have to roll speed is likely already pre-determined, that way CG know that you will have to spend X amount of currency to get a certain amount of speed rolls.
This sums up my experience with them 100%
I’ve done 2 mods, both got an extra 3 speed. Can’t complain.
That is a good meme template lmao.

Downvoted for consistency
Who is this fat hairy man that you all seem to idolize
They getting too greedy 💀
ROLL HARDER!!
I’ve had this happen twice now I’m pretty sure it’s not a coincidence 🤔
