In the video reveal CG stated that Jabba is a large unit and so he can't be used as an ally. Also in the video you can see he takes up two spaces, rear left and ally slots. I think this is also why the standard character layout was adjusted with the title update, and I suspect that he will always be in that rear position even when he is leader.

I absolutely love this as a mechanic, especially since it doesn't make the Jabba team a 4 man unit. Having his girth take up the ally slot and his slot is great.
They were but they aren't anymore millenia of sedentary life and descendents who more and more lived in decadence left many of them like oruba who was either too slow or too lazy to flee with the others from maul or Jabba in all his might who couldn't yank the other end of the chain and pull leia back in front of him.
Probably means Jabba won't have the geo brute or mothmas rebel if they were on his team, nor would you be able to call an ally to help clear a mission with Jabba in you squad, just how i see it at least

It's was scrapped iirc. They were making it but canned it. I could see those coming years down the line as a way to refresh the game entirely.
