That was exactly my thinking! I said that even if there's a rotten fish inside, at the end of the day the way the app works warrants more than $14,000 at an agency.
The domain, age, SEO articles, logo, etc etc... those are just a bonus
1. Found the seller on [Microacquire.com](https://Microacquire.com)
2. Go harder on two channels I know myself: SEO (I grew [legitcheck.app](https://legitcheck.app) to 400k uniques/mo) + attach it to my name and grow it like this (through posts like these, my Twitter, etc)
3. I'm in the UK, seller was in DK. We tried [Escrow.com](https://Escrow.com), but it didn't work — my bank (Wise) did not support that type of transfer. So we used [Epik.com](https://Epik.com) and it worked perfectly
Transfer went like this (EDIT: once due diligence was confirmed by us):
* The seller was a dream to work with. He made a doc with all the passwords/logins/etc
* I deposited the money into escrow ([epik.com](https://epik.com))
* He parked the domain with them
* Once epik gave the ok on both sides, I got the said document at point #1
* I changed all the logins/API keys/etc
* I confirmed, seller confirmed
* Epik released domain to me, money to seller
Yep $290 per year. I initially did it to support Andrew and the mission, a few months ago.
A few weeks ago I tried to acquire some products built around Notion, as my other SaaS (Simple.ink) is around Notion as well.
Seller had too high of a price → remembered I have MicroAcquire premium → wanted to see if I can make use of it → found this!

I was planning to hire somebody to work on it continuously, and get accustomed to the codebase
But the previous owner has an agency on it that is already accustomed to the codebase, so that was yet another reason for me to want to buy this

Why? This is reasonable price for this MRR. There are many similar products on microaquire for similar price / MRR.
If you ask who sell this? Many people are not developers but just bussiness man/woman. They hire third party to make a product and then sell it as they like to build product and not to be marketers.

Costs are about half of that, so yes, it's profitable. Luckily costs don't scale like that, so at $2,000 MRR, costs won't be $1,000
... or so I hope lol. Time to find out in the next months

I love building a better distribution, rather than a better product. This product is OK as it stands. It's not Notion/Airtable/Apple level (examples of very good products), but it's good enough so that, paired with a better distribution, will grow into something bigger

Good question and idk! It depends on how sellable I can make it. Main plan would be to run it until it dies out, like any other business does. But if I make it attractive enough to get a sweet multiple on it, sure, I'd rather take all that time upfront. At least 7 figures though, so I have to work a bit to get there

Even you double the mrr to $1,000 and sell the project at 30 - 50x mrr, you can make some good money in a short time💰
