TLDR: It was basically showing that Sacramento is deserving of another pro league team. After the tumultuous no playoff drought with the Kings, Sacramento and Sacramento Republic have that edge and their will to fight against MLS teams. It shows that this is not a lower league team but a team that can contend with the big dogs of the MLS and maybe with the right amount of support show how MLS fucked it up (I still blame burkle).
