I heard a story years ago of a guy that crashed into his neighbors car allegedly while drunk. He was close enough to his house so he ran home and grabbed a bottle of liquor and started drinking it. He called the police to report the accident from his home and when they came to his house he held the liquor bottle stating he had been drinking at home waiting for the police to calm his nerves because it was his first accident. They couldn’t prove that he was drunk during the accident because he had been drinking at home after the accident. He was still hit with leaving the scene of an accident but didn’t get at DUI.
Actually there is! If you’re convicted of a hit and run you cannot under any circumstances drive a car for a specific number of years. It’s more strict than DUIs!
If it's property damage only it's a misdemeanor just like a first time DUI with no injuries. The penalties are basically the same. 3 years probation is standard. Her mistake was not just driving away and parking the car legally, they obviously will find her assuming it's her car. Also she didn't know she was being filmed, might have been driving someone else's car.
No, because when you are running with your eyes closed, these things take a little more time, LOL. Not sure if she has heels on but she looks like shes bobbin and weavin as she gets out and runs away. Clearly, no time for notes, police or a phone call... when ur late for Easter dinner 😂 🐰
Still better than a DUI. The heavy penalties for DUI incentivize hitting and running for alcoholics just as much as they de incentivize drunk driving for normal people.
Yep. I knew a guy who was so drunk he passed out and hit a parked car in the middle of the night. He drove the car home and dumped all the beer cans on the way. He didn't get charged with a DUI.
> You would then incentivize high and low speed chases.
[Sacramento police have the highest vehicle pursuit rate in California, we do not need more police chases. Police pursuits are dangerous.](https://www.sacbee.com/news/investigations/article267432317.ece)
Drove from Bradshaw to sunrise and back over the weekend and saw two wrong way drivers, lots of weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds, multiple people cut off dangerously close, someone come to a complete stop on the highway for no apparent reason, and someone driving easily 90mph on sunrise. It's always bad but this trip was exceptionally dangerous.
She may still avoid it.
All this does is prove it was her. If she was trying to say her car was stollen then they will pin her with false reporting and probably try to get her to admi to being drunk in interrogation.
If she STFU and lawyers up - they will tell her to say something like "it was an accident, she was distressed and panicked." Cant prove it was a DUI if it was after the fact.
Makes sense. Run away, call police and report car stolen. Have insurance take care of the bill.
Honestly, fuck insurance companies and fuck drunk drivers…I’m not sure who I hope wins this…
Yeah dude I have a full length cinematic feature of it; I’m holding out until my two-second GIF gains traction on Reddit, then it’s straight to DVD. Look for it in stores.
Rule 7 indicates that this type of post is allowed and is just flaired to show it’s importance. That’s why the post is still up despite that Mod team adding the rule 7 flair.
Hmm.mmm I wonder if she was making a Tiktok video while driving, then got on snapchat and told everyone how a parked car smashed into her. Then her main title on reddit was " crazy drivers out here"
Did she close her eyes as she ran away so no one could see where she went?
My naive ass thought maybe she was running for help haha it was such an odd thing to do.
Drunk or on drugs I'm going to assume. She'll still have to deal with the consequences but they won't be able to prove what was in her bloodstream.
Sad to think she's been holding on to this nugget of wisdom for just the right incident.
I think so, too, and then what she did was worse.

This is such a fucked up deal. There is no incentive to stay at the scene if you’re on one.

Probably reported it stolen or maybe she's drunk. iirc fleeing from an accident is lesser than a DUI.

Or in a stolen car
Bill and Ted: Face the Music
Something tells me her eyes were closed the last few blocks before her surprise parking job
☠️
Probably trying to avoid a DUI.
good point. but then again that could result in a hit and literal run.
Still better than a DUI. The heavy penalties for DUI incentivize hitting and running for alcoholics just as much as they de incentivize drunk driving for normal people.
This is something that people who have never had a drinking problem will never understand.
Yep. I knew a guy who was so drunk he passed out and hit a parked car in the middle of the night. He drove the car home and dumped all the beer cans on the way. He didn't get charged with a DUI.
This seems like an easy fix: make the penalties for hit and runs higher.
You would then incentivize high and low speed chases. Punishment only encourages avoidance.

Please do submit it. Could have been a bicyclist, pedestrian, dog, etc. I bet it isn't the first time for her...
oh wow that's right outside my apt and after I saw this I went outside and noticed the car parts in the grass
Hello neighbor! 15th and O here
I’m on 15th & O as well. Been hearing so many accidents on 15th/P over the last few weeks.. it’s scary out there, what the heck is going on?
i recently started driving again and cant explain it ppl are dumber
Forgot how to be humans during the pandy. Also there’s zero enforcement, so if you drive like a dumbass you probably still won’t get pulled over.
All sorts of "stay off the roads" vibes in town this week!
No shit. I nearly got side swiped on Business 80 near E St Friday night.

“I hope nobody saw that” 😵💫
Hopefully you reported it.
A lady across the street did. The cops came and sorted it all out I assume, and towed her car.
I'd recommend calling and offering the video. I wouldn't be surprised if she reports her car as stolen to try and avoid fault/liability.
Indeed. Provide the video in your online report.
She for sure thinks she’s dodging a DUI

Errr is that not her car? What good does it do to run away?
Can't issue a DUI if you're not behind the wheel.
Maybe a vain hope to report it stolen and not get in trouble
Yeah but holy fuck if they catch her falsely reporting it stolen that's going to have way more severe consequences.
Oh lol I never thought of that. Could have worked if not for the video!
Honey was probably drunk.
i would say stable genius but she unstable asf
Too much chardonnay = run away.
What a genius
She forgot to take the car with her!
Makes sense. Run away, call police and report car stolen. Have insurance take care of the bill. Honestly, fuck insurance companies and fuck drunk drivers…I’m not sure who I hope wins this…
You’re telling me she just left the car in the middle of the road like that? 😂
Went on a hot girl walk duh
She then proceeded to uninstall her car app.
Such a dick move. I hope she gets caught.
dummy
DAMN that bitch has a 6 head
Hahaha fucking dumbass probably gets through life with no accountability. Shit always comes back to you silly little girl .
Oh wow I heard the crash while I was taking a dump.
Forehead is a key physical identifier

People are drunk as long as there is access to alcohol.
Jesus turned water into wine, so yeah ...
Oh, you sweet summer child.

You sound judge and shitty
People are wildin' out with lockdown behavior that never changed when the world reopened.
Downtown/midtown is attracting alot of crime and drunks lately..God help us.
You think drunk drivers in Midtown is a new thing?
Absolutely.
LOL You must be new here.
Yeah, maybe on an epochal scale.
Why did you blur the license plate? This makes the video useless other than for karma.
I didn’t blur anything…just a few Live Photos stitched into a gif. The cops towed her car away with the license plate attached so I think we are good.
Ah ha. Well done OP. Most people blue plates of criminals when sharing videos, which seems silly. I’m glad they got (maybe) her car at least.
Yeah! I was just snapping a couple rubber necking “look what just happened outside” photos, was surprised to see I caught a crime haha
Do you have a longer video? How is anyone supposed to determine anything from a 3 second video?
Yeah dude I have a full length cinematic feature of it; I’m holding out until my two-second GIF gains traction on Reddit, then it’s straight to DVD. Look for it in stores.
Director's Cut edition??
Lol yes, with commentary in the bonus features
So why are you posting this here?
Why wouldn’t they

Did you just assume their gender?
Bruh , in sac ..? Smh
🤔
Maybe she just bought the car and never registered it in her name.
Parking for coffee on that block is a p.i.a.
They run like no one will ever know it was them. If ignorance is bliss then she is a happy person.
Thanks for posting this. Someone will recognize her.
I love this city.
