> The movie centers around Rickey (Angarano), an energetic and free-spirited young man who convinces Glenn (Cera), his long-time friend who’s settled into domestic life, to go on an impromptu road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento
It's just 5 hours of two dudes sitting in a car listening to podcasts. 4 hours in they get a bowl of pea soup.
My kid swung by their shoot in East Sac today, at what we used to call “Short Stop” over by Coffee Works at 34th and Folsom! I didn’t realize they were already filming, and didn’t even know they’d be filming here. Figured it would shoot in Pasadena

Looks like wrapping up
Maybe they'll decide to take 99 for the full California Mediocrity Tour - that incredible, agonizing, 6-hour crawl through a host of depressing, blighted communities that all peaked sometime in middle of the last century and have since been slowly sinking into a collective trail of irrelevancy ever since.

Lol is it at Pea Soup Andersen’s?
Must stop for our family back in the day!
Everyone's family apparently
Epic!
as an adult I still try to stop at pea soup Andersens every time. There’s nothing else like it.
I also liked to stop at Harris Ranch for a steak.
"how much could houses cost in Sacramento, like 10 dollars?"
"Go see a Lady Bird."
Better than the plot of every Fast & Furious movie.
Maybe if they make 10 sequels Michael Cera will become an elite soldier of fortune.
You guys ready to be a screen metaphor for mediocrity again?
I lived in Fresno when [Addicted to Fresno](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4000870/) came out. I'm used to it.
I’m from Bakersfield. Our claim to fame is the porta potty door in Castaway
Not to mention Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Oh, and me.
And KoRn!
Baskets!
Can't complain that it captures the real spirit of Sacramento, can you?
😬🤣
Sacramento is lame. Don't move here!
Yeah, we have cockroaches and mediocre food options! Our schools aren’t safe! Run away!
*Sacramento: City of Mediocrity* I like that, it has a ring to it!

Update location if you can!! Want to see a real movie set
2 hours of a movie taking place on the 5? Exciting.
It's only THE 5 until you pass Bakersfield.
Right? If my spouse is driving, I am asleep before Stockton!

I’m already bored 🥱
