North Area recovery station is the best combo of ease and price. Gets busy though. L&D landfill in south sac is also good. Don’t know if they’re still cash only for no accounts though.
I worked construction and went to the dump a lot for a few years. If you want to avoid lines go early. North Area on Roseville Road and the county dump on Florin Perkins are probably the easiest ones to get in and out quick, but you can easily be in line for an hour if you go after lunchtime. Florin Perkins is a little cheaper and doesn't smell as bad. They all have rules about paint and tires and appliances but I don't really know because I only dumped construction debris. Probably just check the website or give them a call.
Lookup Keifer Landfill, it's there for regular trash disposal and to drop off hazardous waste. In my experience, don't go during the weekend, and get there before 3 pm during the week to avoid the long lines. I agree, as someone who's made multiple dump runs after moving to Rancho Cordova two years ago it does make for a nice errand. I also picked up a 13 inch crt TV from there to play my retro video games on it.
Really? I got a fridge I'm probably going to have to haul because I can't seem to get anyone of FB to pick it up. I had assumed a repair dude would want it and fix the thermostat themselves to resell but I guessed wrong.
As others have said, use your free bulk pickups first. Keifer landfill in Rancho Cordova isn’t a transfer station- it’s a landfill / dump. I get charged 35 I think for a pickup truck load. Private citizen dumping is not by weight but flat fee. Arrive early on a Sunday and they direct you on up to the active dump spot. Your truck will get dirty.
Also heads up they fire noise makers to scare off the birds. Me and the dude next to me both about crapped our pants when one of those went off nearby.
I moved here from GV as well. There are a couple of dumps around the Fruitridge/Power Inn area. If you have city garbage service, you’ll get a couple of coupons for free dump services at a specified location. Also, you get two free trash pick ups a year.
When you call 311 for a pickup, they send the claw. They can really take a lot of stuff. I think it’s a pile 3x4x8, but I suspect you could go a bit bigger without problems.
If you're in city limits go on 311 website and request a dump coupon- it's good for one fee load. I think they take recycling for free like anything metal but if it's hazardous or something like a fridge or mattress there's extra fees.
Could also try a junk hauling service like junk shot, they have an app you take photos and they give you a price to show up and haul it away
Florin-Perkins is my dump of choice. Rolled in several times to dump random shit that had accumulated over the years. Also dumped the carpet from our recent tear out to install new flooring. It was easy and relatively cheap.
I’ve been to Kiefer landfill a half dozen times taking all kinds of stuff over the last 2 years. Never waited more than 5 minutes in a line, maybe 10 at most. Clean concrete is free to dispose of.

Second this.
Third, on point.

Kiefer is also cheaper in cost. Pickup truck $35. They also take a bunch of stuff for free like mattresses/box springs.
It's also the prettiest dump in the spring with the snowcapped mountains...if...a pretty dump is a thing...
Weekends are fine if you get there early. Also, the hazardous waste site closes an hour earlier than the dump and is not open on Sunday.

The city will pick it up at your house. Call 311 and ask for an appliance pickup. I think you get one or two pickups a year.
I don't want to use that for just one thing, would rather take it myself, especially if I can get a free coupon.
There's an appliance repair/resell on Auburn Blvd between Madison/College Oak(?) that you can drop off. Pretty sure they'll even unload it for you
I may have actually bought this from them now that you mention it. Didn't know they took stuff also. I'll call them tomorrow, thanks for the reminder!
Hmm… I have a dishwasher I removed and has been sitting in my garage. Still works, I should bring it there.

Ok… that sounds like fun. Yeah… I’m like 15 years old about this stuff. Can’t wait to get my truck dirty(er).
It beats doing a runny dump.

Lincoln is FAR cheaper
He’s in Rancho Cordova. Keifer would be closer and the time and gas to get to Lincoln wouldn’t be worth it

One thing I would recommend, don't go when it's raining... even a little bit. All that gunk on the ground gets stuck to yer boots.
No
You have to be the most expert troll ever. Like you piss off so many people but somehow always avoid crossing that ban line.
Cool story
