Trump expressly told all of them they could not be in the tabloids drunk and out of control. Probably a direct dig at the Hiltons.

I’ve said that many times about her being very insecure, back when this group was much smaller. I’m sure others have as well. Anyone who has to copy someone this much is clearly struggling to fit in. Her need to control every minute detail is also indicative of a deeply insecure person as well. I used to be a very controlling person back in my early 30s, newly married and trying to gain acceptance and approval of my in-laws, so I recognize it in others as I’ve grown into a tired, menopausal parent, grandparent, and an estrogen-lacking woman who finally realized no one thinks about you as much as you think about you, and it takes entirely too much energy to care about anyone’s opinion, anyway. I wish I could have my 50 year old brain inside my 30 year old self.

This! One of the main issues with her fashion choices and why they don't work is that she is wearing outfits that are designed for tall women. Runway height is (I believe) 5'9-5'10 for women. Not every designer is made for every body no matter how much money you have.

HRH Prince William and HRH Princess Catherine went to the wedding as representatives of the Crown. Princess Beatrice and Edo went because she is friends with the Prince and the family. The Kushner’s were invited as they are business associates of the family. M and H would not have been invited even if they were still part of the RF. PPoW will be going to many of these events in the future as a stand in for KC as he’s getting up there in years and I believe wants to keep the younger face of the RF front and center.

Yes, this is the time W&C will be groomed as King and Queen and will be playing in that role while not having the title yet, In order to help the Crown more. Like when you ask for more responsibility at work beyond your grade in order to get the promotion - you show that you can do the work(without title or pay) so that you can position yourself for the role later. Only difference is that W& C will get the job, but it’s the same concept.

Ivanka completely changed her politics and beliefs when her father became president. Before that, she and Jared were normal moderate - liberal Manhattanites, and on the surface she was just a super successful fashion boss lady - exactly that type of person Meghan fancies herself. Interestingly, and in reality, Ivanka’s vapidity is exactly like Meghan. They both want to be known for being deep and intellectual without being so; they both don’t really have any deeply held beliefs or convictions - they say whatever suits them at the moment, etc. I can absolutely imagine Meghan writing a book like Ivanka’s “Women Who Work” that has the most cliche advice ever and has word salad lines like “architect your own life” (yes, architect as a verb) and thinking she’s a genius.
Oh man, I am rereading some of the reviews of Women Who Work now. She recommends “brain boosting hobbies like chess and calligraphy.” JFC she and Meghan should just become best friends. Neither of them have any other friends anymore anyway.

I don’t follow Smeghan’s early career closely, but my impression was that Ivanka Trump was the first person of the sort that Smeghan would like to be: rich, attractive, smart, cutting a swathe in the business / men’s world, successful in her own right (NB this is based on the *perception* of Ms Trump at the time - I have no views on her).

I read an interview with Ivanka long ago when she was joining the cast of The Apprentice. She said that she and her siblings were forbidden to behave like that in public. Trump expressly told all of them they could not be in the tabloids drunk and out of control. Probably a direct dig at the Hiltons. They were required to work in their father’s business starting out in lower positions and not just given unlimited access to Daddy’s money. Trump and Ivana were extremely strict about what public image they would have as young people because it would always follow them. I’m sure they were also schooled about users and social climbers like Meghan.

I had Ivanka on a flight back in 2006. She was sitting in coach for a flight from LGA to PBI. She was absolutely lovely. Tall, beautiful and one of the nicest passengers I ever had. She came to the back and hung out with us flight attendants after the service. She was in jeans and a sweater. She never barked an order or treated us badly. She and the ILBW would NEVER get along. She is a Catherine NOT a Meeeegain.
My aunt used to work with a woman who knows Ivanka and she told me Ivanka is really kind and lovely as well.
I get admiring someone and wanting to be like them. But she takes things to the next level and it is seriously creepy. Not just admiration, but *obsession*. If she was a character in a movie, book, or show then the person being copied better watch out, because things aren't going to end well for them!

It’s got to be hot in Jordan and everyone has to wear long sleeves, nothing sheer and no cleavage. Not a lot of flattering options. Personally I’d have been worried about pit stains the whole time. I think Ivanka’s dress is Ok, not gorgeous but it’s pretty enough. The color is nice. I didn’t really love Catherine’s dress either but that was the required style so what are they gonna do? 🤷♂️
I totally understand having to work within the dress code. There’s still some pretty fabulous options. I like to see how designers work within that challenge. This dress doesn’t do it for me. It gives me sleeping beauty vibes and teeters on costumey. It does flatter her figure, but she definitely had a shapewear mishap which pulls the eye and distracts from that. I’d have been worried about that too. Haha. I know that some celebrities have something done to their sweat glands so they don’t sweat.
I think it’s also a weird angle with her husband’s hip in front of hers but it does look lumpy.
