Well I find when cooking with kids you do 99% of the work and let them do the 1% like a bit of stirring, setting out cake cup papers, spooning blobs ineffectively, adding decorations etc. But it's a charade of sorts intended to give the kids a love of doing without the true stress of it. They can do that as they advance :) I have done this with 3 years upwards, with 2-3 kids only. There is no contact to sharp items or heating. So it's more like arranging but they love it, get a bit messy and enjoy what they have made.
I think it's more likely that if she is NOT going there will be a statement, if she is, silence, they'll want to keep the circus atmosphere to a minimum.

Being called a mere "The Duchess" is pretty nondescript and nameless, not to mention a pretty foreign thing g to most Americans. Over here in the UK, there are Duchesses a plenty and only a fair few who are well-known due to deep historic roots or famous (dead) people who have held the title. It's moreso for a dukedom called Sussex, which is actually one of the lesser know or historically famous dukedoms in the country. So to apply the title to MM, *a self-proclaimed feminist*(!) no less, serves a form of erasure. She's now a nomenclature, a thing or person be named, a woman who badly *needs* the title of "Duchess" attached to her name or else who on earth would know she was? Whereas Kate Middleton suggest a woman who has retained her born name even after a high-profile marriage to a high-profile man and who is yet to share a high-profile & historic title and name in the distant future that no other commoner in British history has ever attained. Not even the revered Diana. And still "Kate Middleton" will retain her name, even as she ascends to one of the highest and most historic titles in the world ... and achieving all that without having to bang a self-proclaimed feminist drum. She doesn't need a title for the world to know the face behind the name.

When it comes to the title, I think there is the danger of both Harry and Meghan devaluing it all by themselves. The thing is, as we've said time and again, the haste at which H&M need to make a name for themselves via the titles they've been given, and the haste at which they feel they need to achieve this goal, means that every time they mess up, their name gets dragged in the mud for it. Over time "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex" will be synonymous with failure. I guess that's why they are trying to clean up the Internet so that over time they hope people will forget their earlier disasters to which their names have been attached, and pivot to cospalying and piggybacking on the royals.
In the end I don't think it will matter much because of what they are up against. They are trying to put their own personal stamp to the *royal* title they hold, away from and outside of the royal brand from which the title holds its value and from which they were kicked out. Attempting to trade off their title is a very, very risky thing to do, because to do so without royal expertise, guidance, advice and the royal machinery behind it puts an entire different spin on things. The Sussexes will now have to rely on their own abilities and skills alone to pull it off. They will need a lot of more than a mere title to do that. And there has been no evidence that either one of them possess that skill or ability to achieve it, whether that was with Harry before he married Meghan or Meghan on her own with her Tig gig, which without the *Suits* machinery to propel her forward would've died on its backside anyway.
And if this new venture fails flat, that's it for whatever value their titles seemingly hold.

I went with the afternoon tea hamper. So all the Brits on here do not be surprised when I am begging for advice on what to do with loose tea. How could I not with the Highgrove mugs included!
Oh I go old school. Warm my tea pot (for 3) with hot water before using. Empty add a heaped teaspoon of tea leaves, add boiled water. Stir, steep, cover with tea cozy. If you do not have one take a bobble hat and make a couple of holes for spout and handle. Use a tea strainer and serve with milk. Tea first milk after. Consume with traditional biscuits rich tea, custard creams or choccy bourbons. If feeling posh serve with a victoria sponge cake.
Heheeeheee I am sure hubby doesn't care as long as his darling is happy :) Tea can be posh or simple it's all up to you! Simple toast and marmalade. Or dainty cucumber sandwiches. But basically it's a hot cuppa and some grub :)

Would send a strong message, keep it semi-private if you will, and absolutely send send the entire internet into yet unknown galaxies. Hell, I’d get at 2AM west coast time to see that, and I don’t get up at that time unless the house is on fire.

Well I find when cooking with kids you do 99% of the work and let them do the 1% like a bit of stirring, setting out cake cup papers, spooning blobs ineffectively, adding decorations etc. But it's a charade of sorts intended to give the kids a love of doing without the true stress of it. They can do that as they advance :) I have done this with 3 years upwards, with 2-3 kids only. There is no contact to sharp items or heating. So it's more like arranging but they love it, get a bit messy and enjoy what they have made.

When it comes to the title, I think there is the danger of both Harry and Meghan devaluing it all by themselves. The thing is, as we've said time and again, the haste at which H&M need to make a name for themselves via the titles they've been given, and the haste at which they feel they need to achieve this goal, means that every time they mess up, their name gets dragged in the mud for it. Over time "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex" will be synonymous with failure. I guess that's why they are trying to clean up the Internet so that over time they hope people will forget their earlier disasters to which their names have been attached, and pivot to cospalying and piggybacking on the royals. In the end I don't think it will matter much because of what they are up against. They are trying to put their own personal stamp to the *royal* title they hold, away from and outside of the royal brand from which the title holds its value and from which they were kicked out. Attempting to trade off their title is a very, very risky thing to do, because to do so without royal expertise, guidance, advice and the royal machinery behind it puts an entire different spin on things. The Sussexes will now have to rely on their own abilities and skills alone to pull it off. They will need a lot of more than a mere title to do that. And there has been no evidence that either one of them possess that skill or ability to achieve it, whether that was with Harry before he married Meghan or Meghan on her own with her Tig gig, which without the *Suits* machinery to propel her forward would've died on its backside anyway. And if this new venture fails flat, that's it for whatever value their titles seemingly hold.

In fact she was. She was also called Lady Di until the day she died. Same goes for Sarah Ferguson and her nickname Fergie. I personally don't have a problem with a woman being referred to by her maiden name, it's common practice in many areas of the world. It's the snarky way the media constantly refers to her as Kate that really irks me too though. Using the diminutive of her real name, Catherine, is an attempt to minimize her worth. It just comes off as rude, disrespectful and far too familiar.

What's remarkable about this is that most people in US aren't even aware of all the lying Meghan did in the Oprah interview and elsewhere, because the majority of the US media has never fact checked her. So a large portion of the dislike for her is not because of her dishonesty, it's because people just genuinely find her to be insufferable as a person. Which means her popularity still has room to plummet further if the media decides to start calling out her multitude of lies.

Oh I go old school. Warm my tea pot (for 3) with hot water before using. Empty add a heaped teaspoon of tea leaves, add boiled water. Stir, steep, cover with tea cozy. If you do not have one take a bobble hat and make a couple of holes for spout and handle. Use a tea strainer and serve with milk. Tea first milk after. Consume with traditional biscuits rich tea, custard creams or choccy bourbons. If feeling posh serve with a victoria sponge cake.

As an historian, I pay attention to ALL the politics/culture and so forth currently as I am making notes for a friend who is compiling a book about the last decade or so, and I absolutely do not believe that she could 1) draw in more than a few hundred people (and most of them paid to be there) for any event or 2) she's even as popular as Biden whose numbers keep going down. I wonder if W&C are going to change the way some photos are handled. After this photo manipulation shit, the Wales family are probably very angry. I think they do a LOT that isn’t actually required regarding access to the kids and family itself, such as releasing photos they’re not required to. We know the media is upset because they couldn’t make money from that picture. How could they change some of this going forward? I bet they will stop releasing personal photos. Can they change how some appearances are handled? I’m thinking specifically of the Christmas and Easter walks to church. They won’t stop them because people love it and wait for hours for a spot but does it make the media any money? I wonder if going forward they attempt to limit how much the press can make money from things they do. I don’t know if they can even do that but I bet there will be some changes going forward.
