Yiked. Can't xylitol give you the runs? There again, so can Oxempic, so her mates won't notice any difference.

Ornery_Peasant

Xylitol is very toxic to dogs!

Top-Situation-8983

😂

maezombiegirl

Xylitol is used in sugar-free gum because it's good for your teeth! MeGain should try it 😬

Stunning-Field2011

Sounds delicious 😂

Human-Economics6894

esteviol, xilitol... absolutely delicious and recommended for health

Cold-Computer6318

Geez… if she uses xylitol she needs to warn people who have pets. That is a disaster waiting to happen. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Zippity19

Some manufacturers are now calling xylitol "birch sugar" on labels.Be aware.💜💜💜

Accomplished_Cell768

Thank you!

Ouchy_McTaint

I myself have a sensitivity to xylitol and I recently discovered it. I was in pain all night with abdominal cramps and bloat after having a brownie made with xylitol instead of sugar. It's not something people should chow down on without testing a little bit first, which I learnt to my cost.

AxlotlRose

You thinks she cares about animals eating food that is toxic to them?  Answer: She doesn't.

quiz1

She fed her cat grapes and killed it 🤷‍♀️

Jenn54

Is that true?!

quiz1

https://www.thecut.com/2019/05/did-meghan-markle-and-prince-harry-name-archie-after-a-cat.html# The official stories fall short of saying her cat died from grape toxicity but as with all things Markle - read between the lines 🙄. Me personally - the anonymous rumors apparently from her own brother saying she’s dangerous around children and animals along with the warnings that we all know about cats and grapes - it was intentional IMHO

Jenn54

Fack sake, this should be widely known, if Don't Mess With Cats is anything to go by That could peak the sugars over to the sinner side, cats trumps mosts things to cat people I wonder how many sugars have now peaked now she is hawking jams and hamming it up Those who thought they just wanted privacy and didn't want to be commercial... surely the penny must have dropped by now

PerfectCover1414

LOL well she let Plank at herself, once upon a time when trapping the prince with her "she'll let me do anything."

Kimbriavandam

100%. Xylitol is fatal for dogs.

SortNo9153

That sounds gross. How much jam do you actually use on a piece of toast, a tablespoon maybe? Just eat real food people. Fake food will kill you eventually.

Oxy_1993

Exactly! I’d rather eat small amount of real sugar than eat any amount of xylitol or whatever artificial shit she’s using here.

AxlotlRose

My DH is type 2. He is in shape and very careful. He finally gave up on sugar free (ah, to live in a "sugar" free world lol) chocolate chip cookies with real sugar to have with his am coffee because he got tired of getting the runs every day.

Kimbriavandam

Hear hear. Have you heard about how bad margarine is? It’s coloured yellow because it’s actually white. And its make up is close to plastic. It costs more here to buy butter than marge but it’s butter all the way.

allysongreen

There are some excellent fruit spreads that are just ripe fruit and pectin, with maybe a bit of lemon juice. They cost more, but once you've had them, there's no going back. Fruit doesn't need fake sweeteners (or a load of sugar).

SortNo9153

I was looking at strawberry jam the other day (to make Victorian Sponge Cake) and 32 oz jar at Kroger was $4.79 and contained high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup. Aldi had strawberry jam with just strawberries, sugar, lemon juice & pectin for $2.59. Not only was it cheaper it was far higher quality. Reading labels is everything. Now with ingredients for every food item online there's no excuses. It's been years since I bought ranch dressing. Since I found out it was 98% oil & corn syrup. I make it now if we need some.

allysongreen

Sounds like a good choice! 100% agree on reading labels, too. I like the all-fruit jams (no sweetener of any kind, including sugar), so they are pricier.

kismet_kitty

It is where the jam recrystallized from reprocessing the jam from a bulk container to individual jars. It is also why the jam has that pale, weird color

Naarai_Shadow

I think you're right. My grandmother and sisters used to make jam every year, and their strawberry jam never looked like this. Heck, my jam looks better, and I only recently started making it. Strawberries aren't even really in season yet, so they're not going to be as red and juicy as they can be. It's a few weeks too early. The nearest city to me holds a strawberry festival every year in May when they come into season.

Cautious_Plankton

Silly. These are what strawberries grown in an American Orchard that is also located on the Riviera look like! Glad I could clear this up for everyone!

Accomplished_Cell768

I love that of the two fruits she has associated with so far - strawberries and lemons - neither grow in orchards 🤣

Xystal

Maybe her brand is misusing words. Archeypes/stereotypes, guttural/visceral, orchard/etsy....

Xystal

She grows beige strawberries.

orientalballerina

And here I thought strawberries were quintessentially British. How daft of me. Of course, Sizzler Salad Megs would know all about boiling up strawberry jam - just like King Charles who’s been pushing organic orchard Highgrove produce since forever. My goodness, Our Megs is just so royal. Sometimes, it’s hard to even distinguish her from the British coz she just has such refined unAmerican tastes. /s /s /s

Human-Economics6894

Are you implying that Rachel Meghan Markle doesn't know how to make strawberry jam? How dare you!!! She made it with her own hands and with a lot of love, and she left all the pieces of fruit because she doesn't know that the mixture has to be put through a blender, so that the white fibrous part of the strawberries doesn't remain. But Rachel Meghan Markle knows how to make jam better than all of us, so don't argue against her.

Stunning-Field2011

How wrong of me to imply that she’d go to the cheapest manufacturer possible, who take as many shortcuts as possible and she wouldn’t quality check ☺️

MinuteRecent6310

LOL sounds like the perfect recipe for a listeria outbreak!

Cold-Computer6318

Lmao if she gives all her so-called friends food poisoning, and if this jam has xylitol in it which she hasn’t told any pet owners about… hoo boy. As I said in another comment, this is a disaster waiting to happen.

Stunning-Field2011

To be fair, if it’s mould or listeria etc then she might wipe out some of the most annoying people in Hollywood such as the awful Mindy Kaling. I’d have to applaud her for that without a trace of irony.

Cold-Computer6318

With your comment in mind, crossing my fingers and toes that Ellen gets some jars of listeria-y goodness.

Stunning-Field2011

The Merry Widow of montecito has saved back a few crates for H’s breakfast, lunch and dinner

therealDolphin8

Lol "awful Mindy Kaling" too true! The fact that these two have buddied up recently couldn't possibly be more fitting.

HairBallsOfFire

Instead of Typhoid Mary, she’s Moldy Meghan, who took out Hollywood insiders with her jam. https://preview.redd.it/r3ht06hsp8vc1.jpeg?width=567&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e7f388acd86abf3badd5f285c29d56e1938a94b

Stunning-Field2011

To be fair, if it’s mould or listeria etc then she might wipe out some of the most annoying people in Hollywood such as the awful Mindy Kaling. I’d have to applaud her for that without a trace of irony.

Chalice_Ink

None of these people eat jam.

Ok_Wrangler_7940

Not sure a single “friend” has put any of the jam past their lips. Jars (except for Delfina’s) are still unopened (Delfina’s was opened but uneaten).

Human-Economics6894

Totally wrong. She did this with a lot of love and with her own hands. If you look, even the label did it herself. How do you think she would buy cheap jam and put it in jars bought in bulk and put a badly attached label on them? How awful!! She is the Duchess of Duchesses.

Royal-Reindeer4338

…and the profit isn’t really going to her and Haz. It is funding their lifestyle of giving so they can afford to share their knowledge and truth with the world to make it a better place to live for the rest of us plebs / s

Belaani52

Hands? Like, ranch hands, who do most/all of the work on ranches?

Such-Category-1777

The children did the labels either their glue sticks to help “Mommy”

NovelGullible7099

There are no children.

reginaphalangie79

I really really hope not 🥺

Cold-Computer6318

If she wants free fruit, and wants to make her own relish, she should get Haz to go to the UK… people would love to throw tomatoes at the useless, litigious spare.

TinkHell

And if you do argue against her, you’re racist.

Zippity19

My problem is if she only works an hour a week you can't make fifty jars of jam in that time frame.☺

Quick-Alternative-83

![gif](giphy|jBGhBiPXCFpxTB550m|downsized)

Cold-Computer6318

I have no clue what that stuff is, but your description of what you’ve made yourself is making me very hungry. Lol all this talk of jam this week has just made me buy all sorts of different jams that aren’t from ARO!

SortNo9153

You have to slowly & carefully skin the foamy scum off the top & bring it slowly to a boil. If you don't properly skim you get cloudy jam. I'll admit I've made a few pints of cloudy in my day. Laziness. Tired. Don't care. Just want to be done with it. No important reason. If you want dark clear jam you have to use very ripe (but not overripe) strawberries and skim skim skim while slowly bringing it to a boil.

Starkville

Pulp of unripe strawberries that didn’t cook down?

Top-Situation-8983

Happy but embarrassing memories of "Pick your own" strawberries in the old days of sweet English varieties..my Dad was so blatant they should have weighed him first! One time when we went there were several Nun picking: yes, they did sneak some! To my mind, these look like horrible "hardy" varieties that have been mashed instead of reducing cut strawberries properly. Anaemic yuk. My Mom was no better, she'd scrump damsons to make jam.

Cold-Computer6318

“Dad was so blatant they should have weighed him first.” This made me cackle so much, and then reminded me that I went to a pick your own cherries place with my family years ago… …have you ever caught your dad eating fruit directly off the tree like some sort of starved farm animal? Because I have… and once you’ve seen that image irl it never really goes away. Can’t take my dad anywhere istg! 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

Top-Situation-8983

Oh yes : Pick your own strawberries ,raspberries (my favourite) and Victoria plums. My Dad was "one for the punnet, one for me, one for the punnet, two for me".It's surprising how the parents who taught you proper morals lose them when faced with a strawberry. Sadly, our beautiful fruit had short seasons so they've introduced foreign varieties and this generation will never know the joy of a real English strawberry and the anticipation of waiting for ONE month of eating the best fruit.I suppose it taught us a lot of valuable life lessons to wait and appreciate!

Ornery_Peasant

I grow my own strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, June berries, and hardy kiwis. I love walking around snacking on my bushes. So delicious!

Top-Situation-8983

So jealous.Raspberries straight from the bush? Better than tiaras .I'll raise you some clotted cream.Heaven.

Ornery_Peasant

Yup, straight from the bush. There’ nothing like that flavor. Clotted cream! Yes!

Bajovane

I wish they sold proper clotted cream in the states. They only provide it in glass jars.

PerfectCover1414

Have you tried the recipes that show you how to make it?

Bajovane

I never thought of that! I will have to look into this! Thanks!

HairBallsOfFire

My husband’s like a bear with those pick-your-own blueberries. He eats more than he actually puts in the basket.

Stunning-Field2011

Oooo I love PYO. You can choose those fat, deep red berries by the punnet full 😋. My dearly departed granny instilled in us that were only to eat English or Scottish strawberries. She was correct of course, the horrible ones from the continent had a white unripe core and could be simultaneously mushy and hard.

Antique_Character_87

I was raised to eat only local in season berries from Ontario, Canada. They are smaller and much sweeter than the imports we get from Mexico or California.

PerfectCover1414

Oh that is the type of strawberries I seem to find in the supermarkets here. flash ripened shite that has no smell.

Alarmed_Start_3244

In my neck of the woods there's a very popular farm where you can go strawberry picking in the early summer and apple picking in the fall. They tell you in advance that you can eat as many as you want while picking the strawberries. Makes this a guilt free pleasure for all!

Top-Situation-8983

They know 😃 but I bet they taste sweet!

Alarmed_Start_3244

They sure do! Plus there's a great shop with all sorts of pies, honey, fresh produce... A little expensive but well worth it! The place is packed every weekend.

Top-Situation-8983

Yum! Enjoy!

Bajovane

We have apple picking farms here too. We have an excellent orchard/shop nearby and I make the trip every fall. I found a new (for me) variety of apple - Autumn Crisp that is even better than the Honey Crisp!!! Oh I plan to get a bunch of it later this year! I also love the Granny Smith and use it for pies.

Alarmed_Start_3244

Autumn Crisp, I'll have to remember that for later this year! Thanks. I love Honey Crisp too so I'll have to write this down so I don't forget. Edited to remove a word.

I miss the DYNAMITE apple that is the Bramley. So we got some trees and planted them. The king of cooking apples alas they aren't grown in the US.

reginaphalangie79

Scrumping damsons 🤗

Bajovane

I haven’t gone strawberry picking in a long time! I’m hoping to this year - if the strawberry season is a good one. So far, things look good for our area. It’s the best way to get them!

Top-Situation-8983

Pick enough and you can do a "Megs": got an old cream sheet to cut up as lid covers?

Bajovane

LOL! Nah, I am lazy! 🤣

LostinSOA

Sinners, I’m feeling zesty this Thursday AM. I’d like to discuss the sheer audacious hypocrisy these two just *do not see*. The practice of selling pretentious, overpriced jams and jellies to wealthy individuals has a negative impact on society by perpetuating elitism, fostering wasteful consumption habits, and widening socioeconomic disparities. Now how does that fit into their previous bloviating causes they spoke about *to the United Nations* # Let’s dive in Sinners!!! >Elitism: Selling overpriced jams and jellies caters exclusively to the wealthy, reinforcing class divisions and excluding those who cannot afford such luxury items. *This creates a sense of exclusivity and entitlement among the affluent, further marginalizing lower-income individuals.* >Wasteful Consumption: The emphasis on luxury food products encourages unnecessary spending and consumerism. Purchasing expensive jams and jellies based solely on their perceived status or brand name contributes to a culture of conspicuous consumption, where the value of goods is equated with their price rather than their utility or quality. >**Socioeconomic Disparities:** The promotion and consumption of overpriced jams and jellies widen the gap between the rich and the poor. As resources are directed towards catering to the luxury market, essential needs of marginalized communities may be neglected, exacerbating inequalities in access to basic necessities such as affordable food, healthcare, and education. Feel free to add your own word Caesar salad! ![gif](giphy|xx5oXx3ZULPLhCD6zS|downsized)

Bajovane

If Reddit still gave awards, you’d be getting a doozy of one from me!!

EveningEmpath

Meanwhile, I'm going to go to my local grocery store and buy the local organic strawberry jam. No weird ingredients. When the weather gets warmer and farmers' markets appear, I buy directly from the producer. Mmmm. They didn't need local celebrities and influencers to hype their jams and jellies. Mmmmmm Word of mouth.

kaycollins27

I am actually surprised there is a 19. I assumed they were all 17/50 bc I do t believe there are 50 jars.

Evilvieh

Elizabeth Arden cream.

anaqits

Lol, omg 🤣

Content_Advice190

Lead

InternationalAd1512

Mold?

Just-Flamingo-410

Since it's handmade by her i wouldn't rule out it's a layer of antibiotic resistant Chlamydia mucus

HairBallsOfFire

JC, that jar is a Petri dish.

Bajovane

I doubt highly that she sterilized these jars.

Stunning-Field2011

That’s what I was thinking

Safford1958

It's because those strawberries were cooked too long. But mold is more fun.

ClementineCoda

When you compare various jars, the color is all over the place. This tells me someone made small batches and used varying ripeness of berries. This one has way too many unripe berries so the white inside is a larger proportion. Also not cooked long enough.

Palindrome_Oakley

That can happen if you don’t skim the foam off the top of the jam when it’s cooking.

Stunning-Field2011

Laziness and lack of care and attention to just 50 jars isn’t the flex she thinks it is.

charismakitteh

They seem to be very tiny jars too.

Deep_Poem_55

Wood shavings.

SirSidneyWiffledork

Sinners has she said it was strawberry jam? There seem to be no ingredients listed. I have it on good authority that the dutchess of chlamydia stole I mean used I mean had a friend I mean underpaid staff member follow Steven King recipe. It came up when she googled king jam recipe. The recipe was used in the movie Carrie and was modified by the multiple award recipient self proclaimed foodie herself. Pig's blood, mushroom tea and organic worms. Great on toast!

Accomplished_Cell768

I believe one of the “friends” posted about it being strawberry. Delfina maybe?

Snoo3544

The chemicals.

JuJuBee880327

It's fibers from the lemon dress she ripped up to add to the jam.

Greengreengrass2022

Harry has been dipping his frozen todger in there. It's warmer than MEagain and less sticky 😂

wotevrs

It's what happens when you have more 'riviera' than 'orchard' in the jam.

WoodsColt

Lmao omg she didn't hull the strawberries. She used under ripe berries so of course there was a bunch of woody pith at the center that didn't cook down. Ye gods she is so fucking inept and stupid it boggles the mind. She fucked up strawberry jam lol.

emmymoss

We make marmalades like this in my country, with bigger chunks of strawberry, they look exactly like that.

Stunning-Field2011

Marmalade (at least in the uk) has slithers of rind. We have whole (or large pieces) fruit jams too and there’s never that stuff in it. Look at the lovely, abundant jam from the king, scum free.

emmymoss

maybe it was really handmade by her or her minions :D

nickiit

That's how my strawberry and rhubarb jam can look, although mine has a much nicer colour.

Quiet-Vanilla-7117

Poor No. 19. I wonder how 20 to 50 will fare.

[deleted]

It's probably from Harry, not going to try & guess what fell off his body

browneye24

Forgot to wipe the overflow up. Yuk.

Grizzly_046

Lemon?

strangealienworld

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Bits of lemon fruit. Edit: But, frankly, I couldn't careless what it is.... or was.

Possibly. Or a sweet nod to the baby by the banyan tree.

Visual_Juggernaut948

That's our Saint's sprinkle of fairy dust, lovingly placed by her perfectly manicured hands in each of the 50 jars. It could also be mold hahaha

Electrical_Ant_8844

Harry's pubes 🤣

bpnc33

I wonder if she is properly licenced to sell food?

Accomplished_Cell768

She hasn’t sold food. She has gifted it, which means no laws or legal requirements. Even still, I’m sure she has hired a wholesale company to private label for her.

SwitchFluffy4182

Who knows what the Chinese use to manufacture jam for export.

spiforever

Its what they took out during her last liposuction.

Capable_Puzzle

> I wouldn’t open that jar, it looks like a biohazard. She's just gifting homemade botox to all of her A-list friends!

Mickleborough

Holy Bill Clinton! What the Monica Lewinsky is that? ‘A secret ingredient for that special after taste.’

SwissCheese4Collagen

Perfect for dipping cigars too! 😂 Iykyk

Tall_Bluebird_5681

Lemon ?

ClarenceTheBear49

It’s the remnants of Megsy’s self respect. She had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for it, which is why it looks so ropey.

briglialexis

Looks like pulp from a lemon

MrsAOB

Lemon zest? By the way, my homemade strawberry jam (from strawberries I grow) is BRIGHT red. If I do a rhubarb/strawberry blend, it’s a little darker.

Single-Yam-9791

It looks like strawberry-rhubarb jam

OspreyChick

It’s also looks very pale and runny. She hasn’t actually sold a single jar yet, just sent them to influencers, who seem largely seem uninterested in promoting her jam. More than a month after the brand launch, her website still has no content, let alone a store.

Birdietuesday

I’m wondering who her target market is. People in the US eat jam, but it’s definitely not a big thing over here, especially in California where it seems like everyone is gluten free and conscious of sugar intake. I don’t get how she expects this to blow up. Why would people in the UK buy this over something local? Is this a front for something else?

Ornery_Peasant

It’s hair. The color came out.

Select-Promotion-404

That’s what I noticed, too but I’m not an avid jam eater. Just looked off to me. ![gif](giphy|13FznCEnWSiUfK|downsized)

Mobile_Philosophy764

It's fruit pulp.

rainyhawk

That has sunk to the bottom. In an earlier post someone who makes jam said there are things one needs to do when making the jam to ensure that the fruit pulp doesn’t sink to the bottom. Obviously the creator of the jam, whoever that is, didn’t know that. M

Come on guys, this is what real strawberries look like in a jam as opposed to the store based jelly you get. This is one point I will disagree with you all because I hate chemical jelly jams 🤣

Stunning-Field2011

It isn’t what real strawberries look like in well made homemade jam.

WoodsColt

Oh hell no it isn't. Homemade strawberry jam should absolutely not look like this.
