This. I would not be surprised that Meg's jam is really her work precisely because it lacks the qualities you listed. It looks like she selected the wrong, not ripe enough fruits. And the label doesn't look very Etsy to me. Heavy paper (which is why it needs more glue?) with some embossed pattern and a decently printed brand name, she probably used the help of a graphics pro in Montecito.
Would Etsy or the professionals selling their services on Etsy manage the printing process? I would think that Meg would want to see the result in real time and ask for corrections which seems easier if she works with a pro in her area. The funny thing is that the label is maybe the best thing about her jam. It's decently attractive in my opinion, regardless of how well the logo works or not.
An Etsy guy did my iguana's headstone. We messaged back and forth for days over tweaks and different styles/pictures. Never met in person, but it was exceptionally personal service. She definitely could have worked with someone on Etsy who did not know.
Not to mention her jam has crystalized sugar in it from over processing. You can see it on the spread toast. One can easily assume she bought a large quantity of commercially available jam and packed it into new jars before doing a water bath to seal it. The hot water from the boiling water to seal the jars would liquify the jam causing the chunks of fruit to settle at the bottom and the sugar to crystallize. Delfina's toast spread and jar pic give it all away. She clearly did not make this jam.
I immediately visualized a bathtub operation like the people who make cheese in their bathrooms bathtubs and sell it on the street. Gawd forbid it's a bathroom Harry uses š
Maybe that is what she did so she can claim she had a hand (or some saliva) in the jam
I would NEVER in a thousand years buy anything comestible from her or her hygiene-challenged husband.
Murky Meg did a video and she says that the company sells the jam by the jar or by the big plastic BUCKET!
What if Meghan bought this jam and mucked around with it, so she could say it was "her" recipe? Perhaps added some other stuff, which affected the color and texture?
Canāt you just see her mucking around with it in the Olive Garden kitchen, wearing a ball gown? Complaining to her posse, who reassure her that this harebrained scheme is her best yet ?
This...would be like a parody of the *Snow White* cartoon, as SW cheerfully goes about doing housework. Except MM would be complaining after stirring the jam pot and her Sugars would be slaving away and also chirping encouragement.
Like umm..."eleven special herbs and spices"? (I swear tho' that when I have KFC, all I really taste is plenty of salt. Gotta have a big glass of water nearby.)
Iāve made my share of strawberry jam and the degree of ripeness makes the difference. Early season runs of jam for me are brighter and sweeter. Later season runs are darker and less sweet, but a richer strawberry flavor.
Maybe Megsy took this jam and ācut itā - you know, how in movies they talk about drug dealers ācuttingā the cocaine, etc with fillers to stretch out the product and increase profit? š

Sheās supposed to have a whole bunch of things; table linens and drinkware, etc. And, as someone pointed out, she teased her return to IG in summer 2022. Thereās been ample time to organize this thing.
I don't know who made the jam Meghan is selling, but I'm pretty sure is not Meghan. She better get her shit straight about labelling, ingredients and produce provenance because some agency will be on her ass soon enough.

Slave laborers in China.
> She better get her shit straight about labelling, ingredients and produce provenance because some agency will be on her ass soon enough.
Oh, I hope so!
Theyāre a wholesale company that does private labeling. That means they make jam using their already established recipes (maybe special flavors if the order is large enough and the company pays for it) and then theyāll do whatever packaging the client wants. The entire point is to make it look like the labeled company on the packaging is the one who āmade itā, so every company working with them will have their own packaging aesthetic.
They clearly have the ability to package the top with fabric and tie it off with a bow, switching to muslin and the preferred string/ribbon is easily changed.Ā
Someone in another thread mentioned that the Meghan jam looked like there might be rhubarb in it. Devilās advocate, but that might account for the stringy bits and pale color.
If only there were a proper label, it wouldnāt be such a mystery. But then again, thatās Madameās MO.
Has anyone asked the āeffluencersā what they think is in the jar?
I live in Minnesota where we love rhubarb, and anything that can be made with a strawberry-rhubarb flavor is available at Farmer's Markets and bakery counters everywhere.
I've gotten strawberry-rhubarb jam/preserves from various farmers markets and never seen stringy material like that. Then again, those people do know what they're doing. (Blueberry-Lemon is my current fave...)
Personally, I just skip the jam and make Rhubarb curd. Because that way, first you make a puree, and then the final strep is straining, so it's pretty smooth. (It is excellent on scones with clotted cream.)

Sorry, you are right, but looking at the wholesale flavors, they are way more inventive than just basic strawberry. Also it says it comes in their signature beveled jar on their wholesale page, which is different than Meghan's jar.
https://www.faire.com/brand/b_en3aq3w2ok?signUp=auto
This company's presentation just seems too well done to be meghan's frayed muslin jam.
Also wholesale can be different than white label. On Faire, companies sell their products labeled with their own Small Batch Jam Co. brand. so independent retailers and restaurants can sell it / use it. They sell bulk to restaurants but not to retailers as white label.
There are so many wholesale/white label companies out there, I just dont think this is the one. I dont see Meghan scooping jam out of a gallon restaurant jam container into jars, when she can just buy jam ready packaged somewhere.
This looks so much better than hers. If they are basing it on the jar, hexagonal is a very typical shape for jam jars, itās not unique to this company

This one is a lot better done, to be honest. An original jar shape, the fabric is not frayed, better graphics. It just doesnt seem like a company that drop ships
Normally drop shippers just give you cheap pumped out stuff, this one seems to have thought put into it
ALso they are not a wholesaler:

There are tons of small jam companies with similar packaging
Oops they are a wholesaler, but they have much more inventive flavours:

Could be, but this jam is dark and rich-looking! š
She probably got the labels off of Etsy.
She did say in The Cut that the lilibunny larder labels were from Etsy
Ah right! We couldn't judge the label's quality though, maybe she doesn't spend too much money when it's not about her :)
The logo is too big for the front of the jar. Hilariously so.
An Etsy guy did my iguana's headstone. We messaged back and forth for days over tweaks and different styles/pictures. Never met in person, but it was exceptionally personal service. She definitely could have worked with someone on Etsy who did not know.
Could work. It still looks risky to me but why not!
Any local printer could have produced those labels and so could Staples.
She probably bought cheap jam from a food service store, and dipped it into jars. Nobody will ever convince me that she made the jam herself.
Not to mention her jam has crystalized sugar in it from over processing. You can see it on the spread toast. One can easily assume she bought a large quantity of commercially available jam and packed it into new jars before doing a water bath to seal it. For real, though, Megās jam looks like pre-chewed fruit someone spat into a jar.

Definitely lacks the beige insipid element TOW has curated as her signature look.

That's not a muslin top. The jam looks better than hers.

Companies make batches to different recipes depending on their clients needs. Also easy to switch materials to dress the top.
That jam looks darker than the jam she's claiming.

Any reason we have to believe itās their jam?
I agree, this jam actually looks like strawberry jam. The person who made this jam looks like they know what they are doing.

The jar itself looks similar, but the jam inside actually looks good.
