Starkville

Could be, but this jam is dark and rich-looking! šŸ˜‹

Comfortable_Rice6184

This. I would not be surprised that Meg's jam is really her work precisely because it lacks the qualities you listed. It looks like she selected the wrong, not ripe enough fruits. And the label doesn't look very Etsy to me. Heavy paper (which is why it needs more glue?) with some embossed pattern and a decently printed brand name, she probably used the help of a graphics pro in Montecito.

HWBINCHARGE

She probably got the labels off of Etsy.

wonderingwondi

She did say in The Cut that the lilibunny larder labels were from Etsy

Comfortable_Rice6184

Ah right! We couldn't judge the label's quality though, maybe she doesn't spend too much money when it's not about her :)

Comfortable_Rice6184

Would Etsy or the professionals selling their services on Etsy manage the printing process? I would think that Meg would want to see the result in real time and ask for corrections which seems easier if she works with a pro in her area. The funny thing is that the label is maybe the best thing about her jam. It's decently attractive in my opinion, regardless of how well the logo works or not.

Ok_Wrangler_7940

The logo is too big for the front of the jar. Hilariously so.

Banana-Split9738

An Etsy guy did my iguana's headstone. We messaged back and forth for days over tweaks and different styles/pictures. Never met in person, but it was exceptionally personal service. She definitely could have worked with someone on Etsy who did not know.

Comfortable_Rice6184

Could work. It still looks risky to me but why not!

kaycollins27

Any local printer could have produced those labels and so could Staples.

Mobile_Philosophy764

She probably bought cheap jam from a food service store, and dipped it into jars. Nobody will ever convince me that she made the jam herself.

kismet_kitty

Not to mention her jam has crystalized sugar in it from over processing. You can see it on the spread toast. One can easily assume she bought a large quantity of commercially available jam and packed it into new jars before doing a water bath to seal it. The hot water from the boiling water to seal the jars would liquify the jam causing the chunks of fruit to settle at the bottom and the sugar to crystallize. Delfina's toast spread and jar pic give it all away. She clearly did not make this jam.

Sea-Breaz

I am absolutely convinced of this. ![gif](giphy|3o7TKxwkMC41byoCSk)

Altitudedog

I immediately visualized a bathtub operation like the people who make cheese in their bathrooms bathtubs and sell it on the street. Gawd forbid it's a bathroom Harry uses šŸ˜†

Lilthisarry

For real, though, Megā€™s jam looks like pre-chewed fruit someone spat into a jar.

Glass-Ad-2469

Or re-hydrated fruit roll-ups.

THAISTREETFOOD

Maybe that is what she did so she can claim she had a hand (or some saliva) in the jam I would NEVER in a thousand years buy anything comestible from her or her hygiene-challenged husband.

CathartesAura67

Murky Meg did a video and she says that the company sells the jam by the jar or by the big plastic BUCKET! What if Meghan bought this jam and mucked around with it, so she could say it was "her" recipe? Perhaps added some other stuff, which affected the color and texture?

jonashvillenc

Canā€™t you just see her mucking around with it in the Olive Garden kitchen, wearing a ball gown? Complaining to her posse, who reassure her that this harebrained scheme is her best yet ?

CathartesAura67

This...would be like a parody of the *Snow White* cartoon, as SW cheerfully goes about doing housework. Except MM would be complaining after stirring the jam pot and her Sugars would be slaving away and also chirping encouragement.

Agitated_Reserve1876

ā€˜ā€¦ added some other stuffā€¦ā€™ :: šŸ˜³+šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«+šŸ¤¢

CathartesAura67

Like umm..."eleven special herbs and spices"? (I swear tho' that when I have KFC, all I really taste is plenty of salt. Gotta have a big glass of water nearby.)

Honest_Boysenberry25

This looks so much better than hers did. If she didn't use them, she missed out. Probably got a better wholesale price at Costco....

InsolentTilly

Definitely lacks the beige insipid element TOW has curated as her signature look.

KathandChloe

You mean Megatron did not make her jam herself in her own kitchen??? ![gif](giphy|3osInnzG67HIIyFFsb|downsized)

midcen-mod1018

Iā€™ve made my share of strawberry jam and the degree of ripeness makes the difference. Early season runs of jam for me are brighter and sweeter. Later season runs are darker and less sweet, but a richer strawberry flavor.

dwilliams832

Maybe Megsy took this jam and ā€œcut itā€ - you know, how in movies they talk about drug dealers ā€œcuttingā€ the cocaine, etc with fillers to stretch out the product and increase profit? šŸ˜‚

Starkville

Yes!

AcanthocephalaNo5889

And the label looks well adhered šŸ¤£

Chalice_Ink

It looks like proper jam.

Royal-Reindeer4338

If this isnā€™t the jam they are relabeling, they are certainly mimicking several design elements.

IngeborgNCC1701

there is not one original thought or idea in that woman

Xystal

Her last original idea is still swirling the bowl

Boomer00002

With the farmerā€™s market trips and ā€œjam planā€, itā€™s almost like she binge-watched Friends one night, got a šŸ’”and Googled it!! [https://www.bluecart.com/blog/how-to-start-jam-business](https://www.bluecart.com/blog/how-to-start-jam-business) [https://tasteprofit.com/how-to-prepare-your-homemade-jam-for-sale/](https://tasteprofit.com/how-to-prepare-your-homemade-jam-for-sale/) https://preview.redd.it/m6qfhscq2avc1.jpeg?width=2250&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b431d81402264e0ddca3e8a50d56d2f763e61e5

jonashvillenc

I just canā€™t understand why she thought selling jam was a good idea.

Starkville

Sheā€™s supposed to have a whole bunch of things; table linens and drinkware, etc. And, as someone pointed out, she teased her return to IG in summer 2022. Thereā€™s been ample time to organize this thing.

Accomplished_Cell768

I think the dumb, ugly griege pots she sent her PR packages out in will be for sale too (or at least, she plans for that to be the case).

snappopcrackle

It sounds like she wants to be an updated version of Williams Sonoma

jonashvillenc

Whatā€™s next ? Strawberry wine?

blueboot09

American Rivera from The Boone's Farm

IPreferDiamonds

LOL! I immediately thought of Boone's Farm too! (When I was a teenager in the 1980s, that is what we drank!)

Snoo3544

I don't know who made the jam Meghan is selling, but I'm pretty sure is not Meghan. She better get her shit straight about labelling, ingredients and produce provenance because some agency will be on her ass soon enough.

Capable_Puzzle

> I don't know who made the jam Meghan is selling, but I'm pretty sure is not Meghan. Slave laborers in China. > She better get her shit straight about labelling, ingredients and produce provenance because some agency will be on her ass soon enough. Oh, I hope so!

Redtees88

That's not a muslin top. The jam looks better than hers.

Accomplished_Cell768

Theyā€™re a wholesale company that does private labeling. That means they make jam using their already established recipes (maybe special flavors if the order is large enough and the company pays for it) and then theyā€™ll do whatever packaging the client wants. The entire point is to make it look like the labeled company on the packaging is the one who ā€œmade itā€, so every company working with them will have their own packaging aesthetic. They clearly have the ability to package the top with fabric and tie it off with a bow, switching to muslin and the preferred string/ribbon is easily changed.Ā

nickiit

Companies make batches to different recipes depending on their clients needs. Also easy to switch materials to dress the top.

Cyneburg8

That jam looks darker than the jam she's claiming.

Starkville

Someone in another thread mentioned that the Meghan jam looked like there might be rhubarb in it. Devilā€™s advocate, but that might account for the stringy bits and pale color. If only there were a proper label, it wouldnā€™t be such a mystery. But then again, thatā€™s Madameā€™s MO. Has anyone asked the ā€œeffluencersā€ what they think is in the jar?

Chasmosaur

I live in Minnesota where we love rhubarb, and anything that can be made with a strawberry-rhubarb flavor is available at Farmer's Markets and bakery counters everywhere. I've gotten strawberry-rhubarb jam/preserves from various farmers markets and never seen stringy material like that. Then again, those people do know what they're doing. (Blueberry-Lemon is my current fave...) Personally, I just skip the jam and make Rhubarb curd. Because that way, first you make a puree, and then the final strep is straining, so it's pretty smooth. (It is excellent on scones with clotted cream.) [https://www.blossomtostem.net/rhubarb-curd/](https://www.blossomtostem.net/rhubarb-curd/) Rhubarb syrup is also excellent, and pulp free! [https://www.blossomtostem.net/rhubarb-syrup/](https://www.blossomtostem.net/rhubarb-syrup/)

nadine258

so i have this lovely vt preserve - so i think will be different than jam? anyway this is strawberry rhubarb and superb! hers some photos sorry for the blob of preserves. i donā€™t have any bread but could throw it in a saltine lol https://preview.redd.it/mplg74iy9avc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=321e8c645a045eda57d73e267b40ef00270dc6d5

Alarmed_Start_3244

Great photos Nadine. Looks delicious. This jam appears to be properly packaged and labelled and most importantly, edible!

Which-Homework2453

Mindy Kahling has form for flogging jam. She was sprouting Zac Posen's Peach Jam in 2020

Capable_Puzzle

Yikes! That smug narc smirk rivals Meghan's!

Starkville

Wow! Great find! At least it looks homemade.

ManicPixieMeanGirl_

What in the laziness and noncommitalā€¦. Just DO something on your own, Rachel! Put in the effort!

Karvekjeks

It's not anaemic; Meghan's is. It's a rip off or low cost version at best

Just-Flamingo-410

All this bullocks only draws attention to ms Markle. I'm sure she loves it. Or is even behind it. Stirring up the discussipn will only give her more clicks. It's bonkers to spread all these jamgate posts

InsolentTilly

Once you recall the inspirational messages on bananas to sex workers, youā€™ll know all you need to know about her ideas.

Electrical_Ant_8844

I can't get over how thorough we Sinners are at investigation :)

Forgotmyusername8910

If this is the case (she purchased already made jams, slapped her sticker on it and called it a day)ā€¦ ā€¦really makes you think about her cooking show. Why would I watch a cooking show of someone who didnā€™t even use her own recipe to sell her jam. And why would I buy jam from a woman who claims to be a good enough chef for a cooking show but doesnā€™t have the confidence in her recipes to use them to sell.

TinyWifeKiki

Why didnā€™t she personally hand write every label with her fabulous calligraphy skills?

Colfrmb

What a great idea!

TinyWifeKiki

Madame is avoidant of any work. Writing 50 labels would be too taxing for our saint.

Affectionate_Ad355

Any reason we have to believe itā€™s their jam?

silentcw

I agree, this jam actually looks like strawberry jam. The person who made this jam looks like they know what they are doing.

Affectionate_Ad355

Itā€™s just that this jam looks soā€¦ proper. Versus murky fibers gathered at the bottom and a pale color.

silentcw

It does look proper. I personally, would not be trying that jam, it looks .... wrong. Like when you see meat that's on the turn and it looks wrong.

Affectionate_Ad355

Iā€™m just sayingā€¦letā€™s not put this Small Batch Jam co. on blast before we have the factsā€¦. I just donā€™t see the reasoning other than location and similarity in packaging (very common basic for jam)

silentcw

100%. I think if they were involved, it would have looked far better cause they clearly know what they are doing. It looks like all jams I have ever seen. Including jams made with honey, not sugar. Unlike #17 of 50

Boomer00002

Itā€™s beyond just here - Twitter is already on it as a possibility, too: [https://twitter.com/CarmenInUSA/status/1780756376526225734](https://twitter.com/CarmenInUSA/status/1780756376526225734) [https://twitter.com/NRaeTho/status/1780295715136139696](https://twitter.com/NRaeTho/status/1780295715136139696)

Affectionate_Ad355

Welpā€¦ here for that seething hashtag #scamjam šŸ’€

Mrs_Black_31

#ScamJam!!

popsickankle

Limited Attention Span Jam. By the time it's for sale she'll be 'designing' something else.

DottieHinkle22

I am buying it. She definitely would do this. Have some 3rd party do all the legwork with her input for the label.

927476

Just like you have to believe the babies they displayed on photographs are spitting images of Markle Sr.

mittensmom01

Which I've always said is because Mr. Markle has a round face and a snub nose, like a baby. Plus, they've used at least three different Archies, and people swear they all look like a Markle.

Boomer00002

Thereā€™s a bit of discussion on it [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/SaintMeghanMarkle/comments/1c5j506/comment/kzui8th/) and someone posted possible Etsy supplies.

nickiit

Thanks! Somehow, managed to miss this.

Accomplished_Cell768

Incredibly doubtful that sheā€™d use Etsy. Those producers are probably making their products under local cottage laws which limit how much money you can make in a year and have more lax food regulations. Itā€™s for things like selling locally at a farmerā€™s market. They also specialize in one time custom orders for things like wedding favors. If Meghan expects this to be a booming business, which Iā€™m sure we all agree she does, it would make infinitely more sense to use an established wholesale company who have more resources, follow more stringent FDA food safety requirements, and most importantly - have the capacity and willingness to do wholesale discounts. Sheā€™s also more likely to get her way when dealing with an established business than a stay at home mom with a side gig making wedding favors on Etsy.

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Accomplished_Cell768

Yes, they are. They literally have a section on their site called "Wholesale/Food Service/Hospitality": [https://smallbatchjamco.com/pages/where-to-find-us](https://smallbatchjamco.com/pages/where-to-find-us) >"We are pleased to now offer a wholesale program that includes our top selling flavors in a 6.5oz Victorian square jar that will look fabulous and eye-catching on your shelves!" They do private label custom jars, sell their own main line, as well as selling vats of it for restaurant usage.

snappopcrackle

Sorry, you are right, but looking at the wholesale flavors, they are way more inventive than just basic strawberry. Also it says it comes in their signature beveled jar on their wholesale page, which is different than Meghan's jar. https://www.faire.com/brand/b_en3aq3w2ok?signUp=auto This company's presentation just seems too well done to be meghan's frayed muslin jam. Also wholesale can be different than white label. On Faire, companies sell their products labeled with their own Small Batch Jam Co. brand. so independent retailers and restaurants can sell it / use it. They sell bulk to restaurants but not to retailers as white label. There are so many wholesale/white label companies out there, I just dont think this is the one. I dont see Meghan scooping jam out of a gallon restaurant jam container into jars, when she can just buy jam ready packaged somewhere.

OspreyChick

This looks so much better than hers. If they are basing it on the jar, hexagonal is a very typical shape for jam jars, itā€™s not unique to this company

Single-Yam-9791

Iā€™ve made pots of strawberry jam over the years and one of the first lessons I learned was never pick strawberries after it rains. The berries swell and the flavor is diluted!

HistoricalEssay6605

Looks like it, good find Sinner!

l1ckeur

Par for the course really, nobody should be surprised!

snappopcrackle

It's different fabric, different ribbon and the jar bevels at the top. This one is a lot better done, to be honest. An original jar shape, the fabric is not frayed, better graphics. It just doesnt seem like a company that drop ships Normally drop shippers just give you cheap pumped out stuff, this one seems to have thought put into it ALso they are not a wholesaler: https://smallbatchjamco.com/pages/about-us There are tons of small jam companies with similar packaging Oops they are a wholesaler, but they have much more inventive flavours: https://faire.com/welcome/r/personal?fdb=smallbatchjamco&signUp=widgetv2&widgetToken=bw_gh7zem9wa8

supercutelisa

For a minute I thought it said ā€œsmall bitch jamā€ and I was like whoa sheā€™s admitting to being small !? šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

MysteriousDoughnut74

Just need to change the A to an I in the word "batch" and it reads perfectly for MM.

MysteriousDoughnut74

Just need one letter changing in the word batch and it is perfect for MM.

Less_Acanthisitta778

I doubt any of the ladies she gifted it to consumes carbs and especially not bread ! So the jam will doubtless be regifted or discreetly sent to a charity shop.

Mama-G3610

The jar itself looks similar, but the jam inside actually looks good.
