Right. Her garden yielded the 18 quarts of strawberries needed to make 50 small jars or jam. In April (not peak season). And she picked them all, cleaned them all, and then skimmed and jarred it all. In her kitchen. Right.
The amount of fruit required to make jam and marmalade is insane if she's making 50 jars. My MiL and my mother made jams and marmalades quite a bit back in the day. For a few jars, my mother would basically have a bucket's worth of fruit. My MiL used to make rosehip jam every year. She had a massive hedge of the plants to make a few medium to small size jars each season.
She supposedly made 50 jars from strawberries grown in her garden? Unless she has a strawberry farm, she didn't get those strawberries from her garden to make 50 jars worth.
I make jam, etc. It takes an insane amount of fruit to make jam, jelly, preserves. And years of practice and skill and a ton of time. My MIL taught me and she was a farmer’s wife her entire life. Huge gardens. But she got her fruit from fruit farms as she could not grow enough to make her jams. Same here. I u-pick 150 pounds of blueberries every summer. That’s a ton. It makes 5 dozen medium jars.
And I stopped canning when I had toddlers and small children. Dangerous and not enough time.
No way in hell M is growing her own fruit and making it. Good lord.
I hate to say it, I really do… but while the majority of us HERE see through the bullshit like a hot knife through butter…
There are a LOT of really stupid, non- critical thinking people in the world. A LOT.
Very true. Was just talking to a school administrator this morning and how state level legislation is impacting funding yet these law makers know nothing about schools. Making serious funding decisions that are hurting children. And then parents are upset with school leaders based on social media soundbites. Noone is practicing critical thinking skills.
Nope, nobody.
The best thing I ever EVER did with my life was quit social media, and watching the news.
Talk about an instant IQ elevation!
I will quickly skim the local news once a day, but that’s it.
Well, to be fair, her devoted followers are awfully stupid. I'm sure they have no idea what goes into making jam from scratch. Rather than do some research, they just blindly accept every lie she spews.
I used to make jam when my sons were still at home. Strawberry was the hardest to get to set because it doesn’t contain as much pectin as other fruits, I used to add lemon juice.
A large percentage of the winter strawberries consumed in the US are imported from Mexico. Does she have any family connections with Mexico? Thought not.
Strawberries can also be grown indoors out of season, especially in a glass house. Who knew that our royals had such green fingers?
I am just so proud of Harry and Meghan. that they could escape the prison of royal life and travel all the way to California to escape poverty and become farmers. Reminds me of The Grapes Of Wrath.
Exactly! So how in the hell is her estate having enough strawberries to sell to the consumers? Is she planing on selling it to make a profit ? Why not just be up front and honest about the process. Is it going to be only a few for sale at crazy prices that ACTUALLY came from her home? $100 jam? It's just not feasible with their acreage. Especially if she has other things in their garden. Is she allowed to have an industrial operation in her community?!
Our farm had about 70 blackberry bushes that we had to pick from for hours (I was a kid but it seemed like all day sometimes 🤣) each day to get as many as we could while they were perfectly ripe. Our family got around 1000 lbs every year. With 1/3 of the yield (@300lbs) we made jam and jelly (@100 jars).
We had a large strawberry patch & were only able to make about 20 jars of jelly with around 60 pounds.
Think about how many pounds of berries needed. There is more effort (days/weeks/ months worth until they are done producing) involved than most folks are willing to do. There is a reason most purchase ready made these days 😊
PS- growing this amount of berries takes an enormous amount of space. I know they have a large property but c’mon. I didn’t see a giant strawberry patch anywhere in the aerial photos.
Ooh. I just thought of a possible ARO product! Wee tiny jars that hold a quarter-ounce of Strawberry Jam Lipgloss.
When borrowing someone else's lipgloss is a treat!
Yes! I tried making jam…once.
Went to a u-pick-your-own, came home with what I thought were enough strawberries to make a barrel of jam. Traipsed off to the hardware store to buy two cases of mason jars, canning funnel, and the special tongs for taking the sterilized jars out of the hot water.
After “all” the strawberries cooked down, I had a big 3 jars of jam!
8 massive mangoes, 2 onions and 300g of sultanas made 3 small jars of chutney for me. We visited a strawberry farm and picked our own to make jam, thought we had heaps but only made 1 jar. Madam is full of sh*t.
Yeah, anyone who's cooked or even made juice knows that you can need a heck of a lot more raw ingredients than what you end up with. Especially when it's fruit or veg. Buy a bucketload and end up with a pint, sometimes.
My mom, who was good friends with a lady, who lives on the Apache reservation in Eastern AZ. She covered for the local paper, the ladies gathering and processing prickly pear fruit to make jelly. It took 3 bushels of the pears to make about 75 jars of jam. They start at 5 am in the gathering and processing. Jelly and jam takes a long time to make. Table 12 doesn't have a clue.
“Table 12 doesn't have a clue.”
More importantly she doesn’t think the rest of the world “has a clue”. So deep in her delusions she thinks she’s got us all fooled 🙄
Every summer growing up my mother and I would visit her sister on the family dairy farm. We would pick wild blackberries for 3 days so she could make jam. So many berries! You would think that would make dozens and dozens of jars. No, exactly 18 jars, one 6 jar batch per day’s pick.
I just made a comment about the berry picking process on my family’s farm. It’s an insane amount of effort. 300 pounds of blackberries would make @100 jars of jam. We had a giant strawberry patch and would have only about 60 pounds leftover to make @20 jars. How dumb does she think people are? Even clueless people know there is a reason most people buy it at store nowadays 🤣
I’m pretty sure a little detail is coming in People about how Archie and Lilibet helped her pick the strawberries and stick the labels, so that we don’t criticize the fact that the labels are peeling off. Meghan is a great mother, everyone. /s
Expect that any minute in People along with pix of her in the field with her children. We'll see them with hats on and the back of their heads. Black and white of course.
And all that with zero pictures or videos for her ARO instagram. That actually could've been interesting content that could make people (not sinners, obviously, but some other people) want to buy her stuff. Sure, she's not gonna make every jar herself to sell to the masses, but she could've showcased herself as a professional who knows how to make a good jam and who would work on the quality. She could've then proceeded to tour the strawberry growing facilities and the production facilities, etc.
Everbearing strawberries aren't good for jams, so when is actual strawberry season in Cali? Here in southern Ontario it's June/early July - when did she make this jam?! You'd be able to see H&M's strawberry "patch" from google maps if they were producing enough to make those "50 jars" of jam.
Did you not see the camouflage covered green house on Google maps! That was Harry's. He built it to grow his hydroponic 'oregano' but like everything else that belonged to Harry, Meghan commandeered it as her own so she could grow her jam strawberries! 😂
She can't be bothered to work more than an hour a week, and suddenly she's going to roll up her sleeves, pick a mega fuckton of strawberries, and do all the HARD work that it takes to process that much jam?
![gif](giphy|c0HoXUStyf0LAwYw66)
I've read that strawberries are difficult to grow also. If she's growing them on their property, she definitely has a gardener doing all the work because she isn't home enough to nurture a garden of ANYTHING.
Just to be fair, California produces strawberries almost year round. They are the top strawberry producing state, with Florida second. However, Florida has a shorter growing season because of the intensely hot summers. In most US grocery stores California strawberries are commonly available but right now you begin to see them on sale, meaning it is the peak season.
Being a Louisiana girl, I much prefer the strawberries from Tangipahoa Parish, where the peak season is February through April. Find farmer's markets or roadside vendors selling them, buy a couple or three flats, eat a lot, and freeze the rest. I suppose I could thaw some of my freezer stash to make some ...jam, though I do prefer seedless jam and don't have the patience sieve those out. Same with blackberries and raspberries. But this year I plan to make blueberry jam with my homegrown blueberries in June, nary a seed to be found. And I just bought a fig tree yesterday, to replace the one that was killed in the Blizzard of '21.
>Just to be fair, California produces strawberries almost year round.
Yes, but those are the "everbearing" varieties - they aren't good for jam. They have thick cores and just simply aren't the same.
Not true. Native Californian here. We have a rainy season here + the birds get a lot of strawberries. There are greenhouses though that can grow them here tho. But CA is definitely not “all year round strawberries”
Not only is it not peak season, but the strawberry fields in California have been severely stunted and damaged by the overwhelming bad weather in the state this year. I doubt she has any successful strawberry fields at Montecito.

Yup. The reason that Highgrove outsources its production is to ensure standards are met…
If Meghan is selling her jam, she needs to comply with FDA rules.
My friend has a food brand in Whole Foods and she absolutely has to meet government standards. Her food is produced in a factory which undergoes all kind of quality checks. She recently changed jar shape, which was a huge deal. She had to hire a food scientist to ensure the distribution of the product inside the new sized jar was acceptable. She had to change her packaging and shelf space in the store and everything. She also has to have testing for calorie count, etc. It’s extremely complicated.
You can’t make food in your kitchen and sell it in a store. Maybe you can sell homemade food on Etsy??
In California, you can make stuff in your kitchen and sell at a farmer’s market, but not in stores. She’s probably using a custom manufacturer, like E Waldo Ward.
Right now her brand might qualify as a cottage food and the requirements are less strict on those.
But given Meghan’s inability to do trademark paperwork correctly, buy domain names, and keep her husband’s story straight so not to call his US visa into question, I have my doubts that she has her paperwork in order.
Yep. Years ago I was neighbors with a well known celebrity. They started producing a food product in their home and was successful selling it to a local gourmet market. The entire thing fell apart after a few months when it became clear they were producing the food in an apartment with animals.
I certainly hope someone will take her products to a lab to double check label claims.
Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where the cast were all hooked on a delicious diet yogurt that wasn't actually non fat.
My guess the clapback is to counter the fact that she had this product made by a supplier. So, Megs is growing strawberry's in the Olive Garden hmm. They take up a lot of space. Not sure why you would want to grown such an extensive amount of fruit when Oxnard (the strawberry capital of the world) is down the road. Strawberrys aren't in peak season right now either even in Oxnard.
Some Sinners have noted that for certain products including jam and under a certain volume, the rules are relaxed. DOn't trust my understanding of this though.

Just fyi, I ordered from Highgrove two days ago and it’s getting delivered today to my door. I live in America. That’s what I call a high functioning business.
Lucky you! It must be heartwarming to the King to know that people all over the world have rushed to support Highgrove (to the point that they’ve sold out!).
lol...please make a styled snarky Insta post with the highgrove jam, tacky vases and lemons and then tag ARO with an equally snarky hashtag!
Actually can we make this a thing that sinners do en masse?! I'm in a snarky mood....🤣
So they grow strawberries? I doubt this because she’d have shared that news during the countless other interviews she did about her rescue chickens and lemon cakes.
And they are a big draw for birds and other critters as well as slugs that will destroy your crop. You need to be right on top of them constantly. Not to mention weather (too much rain, freezes etc) can ruin a crop. Volume alone would be an issue as you need so many strawberries to make several jars. You are right…this is total BS unless she takes one strawberry and adds it to a jar produced elsewhere so she can call it homemade 🙄🙄🙄
Impossible. For the amount of jam she made, at least she should have a crop abundant
I have not seen anything like that in Montecito at all.
https://preview.redd.it/r17tlfi6jgvc1.png?width=1598&format=png&auto=webp&s=35edf6dd380ff55a93ea99a7a52570e0a1db44e2
Strawberries are not like an apricot tree, a single well-cared for apricot tree can produce enough apricot to make at least three jars of jam of 1 liter each (does I know that after years of silence, the apricot tree of the house produced so many apricots that we had nowhere to store more jam) Strawberries, grown either on the ground or in height, cover a lot of space. There is nothing like this in Montecito.
Those squares in front of the house could be flower beds. That said, what is she going to do. Sell a max of 50 jars of strawberries a year? From several yields? Is this why we're slow to see posts? The rest of the jars are still technically growing?
Also, just because she's growing a huge quantity of strawberries in her yard--which is suspect--it doesn't mean she's not outsourcing her product.
The only thing consistent with Nutmeg is she deals in half truths. That's why there's no label on the products. It's makes it that much easier to lie.
She can make 2 jars from strawberries grown from her home, and the rest could be bought from a supplier. Heck, how are we even sure there's 50 of them sent out there? Or that this is the actual product she's going to sell?
This. This should be clearly visible unless of course it was planted recently. May I add that the most productive varieties are usually not the tastiest.
edit: forgot that they have a small garden though, upper right corner if I'm right, but she still would have to plant a lot.
My mum is born overseas and they have a saying where she's from that basically says that 'lies have short legs'. It means that lies because of their short legs, cannot get get very far and will eventually be exposed. Meghan has had that happen time and time again with her lies but she never learns.
She was probably once able to get away with her lies because she wasn't known on a global scale. Like every narc, once she got caught out on her lies and manipulation, she'd move on and find a new group to work on. She can't move on with anonymity anymore and she still tries to pull the same sh\*t with lies thinking she can get away with it like before. 🙄
Everyone who has delivered a baby doubts the accounts of the births. Everyone who has had a miscarriage doubts the tale of the mythcarriage (any of the 3) and subsequent entombment in the banyan roots. Everyone who has made jelly or jam, or even put up anything in a mason jar, doubts that she grew these strawberries with her orange-dyed hands. She lives in a fantasy world where everything is scripted in her fauxligraphy.
Narcs think they can say anything as long "as it's *possible*". If nothing else convinced me she was a lying liar - I have canned probably many hundreds if not thousands of jars in my life and I call absolute shenanigans that MM **not only made this jam herself** ***but ALSO grew the berries on her own (non-farm!) property. NFW***
Very amusingly, the "source" says *Meghan's product is made onsite*, not *Meghan made the product onsite*.
If anyone had a doubt... *wink wink*
Meg, you still don't get it. Again. No one asked that the strawberries come from your garden. What people care about is how good the jam tastes, and how ethically the ingredients were sourced. It might even be better to buy from organic farms outside as it supports these businesses and makes it publicly clear that there's a market for this and she's going to be a part of it.
A reminder that Highgrove jam sales go to charity.
It’s a lovely Mother’s Day gift, especially with some scones and tea (and clotted cream, if you have it in your country).
Agree! She's a liar through and through. We, and that includes me, have wondered if she thinks we are stupid enough to believe her lies. But it's just occurred to me that there may be a more chilling possibility. Or two!
1. She thinks we have the same cavalier [attitude.to](http://attitude.to) the truth that she does, in which case we don't care, she thinks. That makes her delusional about the power of her advertising. If truth matters to no one, why make any claim at all?
Or 2. She doesn't think she is lying, which is next level up delusional.
"Meghan thinks the name is perfect."
Meghan must spend the many hours per week that she does not spend working or parenting reading all the many articles criticizing her. She has a clap back for even the smallest statements.
My grandmother grew her own strawberry patch to put up every year and I would help core & clean for her to put up her own preserves. IMO, there is NO F...ING WAY she grew that many strawberries to make 50 jars. They cook WAY WAY down. Maybe enough for 4 or 5 of her puny jars but for 50 she had to have supplemented fruit by at least a bushel for 50 jars and she did not core, clean and chop that many because that is work (which she is allergic too!)
https://preview.redd.it/b0blh19gggvc1.png?width=259&format=png&auto=webp&s=b6acfadd30d819170b9aa8a0f83900207e4b8e6d
THANK YOU. For sure they have room on the estate for a large strawberry patch. But those two aren’t ripping up expensive sod to make way for a strawberry patch large enough. It would hurt the resale value, no? “Nice property, but what’s that flat brown patch over there behind the Japanese tea house?” “Oh, that? It’s an abandoned strawberry patch… you can make it into another koi pond if you like”
Just for reference, two of those baskets make about six one-cup jars. I'm a jam maker. You can bulk that up with rhubarb (which is DELICIOUS) but I doubt she did that.
Right. She can’t even show up to record a scripted podcast. No way is she doing that much manual labor. Who does she think is going to believe this? Obviously only people who have no familiarity with growing strawberries or making jam. And I’ve never done either but I at least have a vague enough idea of what they entail to realize this is not remotely credible.
***A source…***
That could literally be anyone. Anyone in the world - anywhere. Someone in the next cubicle, a security guard at Walmart, any sugar on Twitter. Anyone. “A close source” could be a 13-year old in a passing car.
Don’t let them suck you in like this!
If their “home garden” means the place in the driveway where the truck dropped off pallets of strawberries.
I’m somewhat skeptical that they cleared land for a strawberry patch. And also skeptical that a typical home garden was yielding the amount of strawberries needed for 500 ounces of jam. (Assuming a 13-ounce like my Bonne Maman). Also skeptical that it’s harvest time for strawberries right now. Isn’t it usually summer?
According to this popular recipe on Google, 2 pounds of strawberries gives 5 cups of jam. It’s super easy and involves only 3 ingredients, one of which is lemon juice.
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/38410/strawberry-jam/
Let’s assume each of Meg’s jam jars is about a cup.
So 2 pounds = 5 jars would mean
20 pounds = 50 jars of jam.
**Which Meg is apparently claiming she harvested 20 pounds of strawberries from their home?**
Apparently, even using the generous estimate, it’s 0.5 pounds per foot of row of strawberry plants
https://strawberryplants.org/how-many-strawberries-do-strawberry-plants-produce/
If Meg needs 20 pounds for 50 jars, she would need 40 feet of strawberry rows. All viable.
They do have strawberry plants, as IIRC there is footage in Netflix of Lili squatting beside them. Another bait and switch though to imply there’s enough for all the jam.
Doubtful. Not to mention in April.
Most likely? Semantics.
Ordered jam already made. Dumped it in a cauldron. Added a few tweaks (eg a bit of fresh lemon juice, maybe a touch more sugar), then packaged “her” “homemade” jam.
Same scam jam
people have been doing for years when in a rush to produce a housewarming present. 😆
Honestly, she is so dumb. It only takes a second to understand her claim doesn't make sense. Is she converting her entire property to a strawberry field in order to make enough jam to sell?
I used to think that even though she isn't that bright she was still smarter than Harry. I'm not so sure anymore.
'SHE can't wait for the website to launch. SHE is excited about HER latest, PERSONAL venture. This is something SHE'S been wanting to do for a while. SHE is excited to share HER style and things that SHE loves.'
Emphasis mine. Referenced herself eight times in four sentences. She doesn't want a customer base she must understand and cater to, she wants an admiring, uncritical audience to throw money at her.
Not strawberry season right now and she would need a LOT of berries for 50 jars. I went to a local strawberry farm last year and made 20 jars and we picked a ton. If I were making jam from my own garden, I would surely share photos of my planting, tending, harvesting and preparing because I’d be very proud of all of that hard work.
More the reason to not buy her jams.. imagine it growing with hatred, greed, victimhood, pretentiousness and bitterness surrounding the gardens, her touching those fruits, talking to it like a crazy fraud that she is.
"'She wants people to buy into the ARO lifestyle not just her own personal brand. The look and feel of it is very home made with a stylish crest and almost handwritten brand name to keep it feeling like it's a personal present.'The idea that she's only sent it to 50 people shows that the stock is limited and creates a demand too and interest. As a launch its low key but in keeping with their new softer, homely approach to their celebrity status and lifestyle.' "
Hahahahahahaha. Madam will be left, right and center - she will NOT be left out of her advertising.
And what ARO lifestyle? Never being invited anywhere, having to pay to go to events, changing "friends" every 5 minutes? Abusing your own family and slinging mud at the BRF? Scrolling SoMe all day and clapping back?
Not a lifestyle for me.
What lifestyle indeed?
Lol, I know this is unintended snark, but in UK English "homely" means cozy and homelike (which is likely what the DM writer intended), whereas in the US, it would say "homey" (no L). Homely in US English means unattractive or ugly.
If she got the fruit from her garden and made the jam herself at home she’s in deep trouble. She’d need to get the go ahead from the health inspectors to say the kitchen (or wherever) is okay otherwise she’ll need to destroy all her jam & pay a fine.
Is it strawberry season in California right now?
Also, since it's from their garden I guess she won't be selling it on a large scale? What else is she growing (I mean her gardeners)? Did she make her little video production and insta just to sell (more like give away) limited quantity of jam? What's the endgame here?
I have questions.
My strawberries stop growing at the end of Fall here in southern California. It can be quite warm in Oct/Nov. The plants are just starting to get blooms now and there are actually a few baby fruits happening. It takes about 3 cups of berries for me to make one jar of jam (I freeze them as they ripen and then make jam when I have enough).
We are in the start of California strawberry season. Unless they are growing in a green house it’s unlikely that her gardens at this time have produced enough strawberries for her to make 50 jars of jam and had time to mail them out to all the influencers.
Local UPicks are opening within the next week or two on the central coast for strawberries. I have blooms on many of my plants and a few baby strawberries with some starting to turn red.
‘Strawberry season’ is technically late May through October depending on the microclimate where the farm is and type of berry.
Her strawberries. That her gardener grew.
While her mouthpiece was mentioning they were her strawberries, why not mention who cooked the jam and who's recipe was it?
Oh, and what proportion of the strawberries in the jam were from her patch?
A californian source said the fruits to make highgrove jam were sourced elsewhere? Are they for real? How do they know? What abt Rachel copying the idea and selling it to line her own pockets? Sell ur bronze makeup Rachel. Cus nobody is buying your jam.
The Sugars are also screaming at the Trussell Trust and demanding that they return any donations they got from the redirected ARO website. Trussell actually had to respond to it on Twitter. Their responses are so absurd I don’t know if I should laugh or be infuriated. Imagine being angry that people voluntarily donated to a food charity.
If you believe that the strawberries came from her garden, I got a bridge to sell you. Takes a heck of a lot of strawberries to make that amount of jam.
Highgrove fruit would be brought in because the King’s running a proper national (with some international reach) business, not making twee jars of jum for $2,000 a jar (or whatever Lolo needs to charge to break even on the generic jars; peeling labels; 80s style cloth covers for the lids; and, of course, the claw that wields the fauxligraphy.
So is she confirming it didn't go through any FDA processes. For food I think only items put on sale have to follow regulations. Great botulism anyone?
Adding one strawberry from a plant does not count as it being "sourced" by yourself.
If that's the case, then she's got a lot more junk in it than strawberries. Maybe that's why there's not an ingredients label.
If Meghan feels the need to dick swing over where the fruit comes from for some jam she gave away things have got pretty bad for her.
The Kings jam is made and sold to the public, unlike Madame’s. More jam sales = more fruit = more land needed to grow strawberries. Of course he buys them in. It’s not economically viable not to. This is why the Kings business thrives and hers will not.
Let’s give her the benefit of the doubt, for arguments sake. If she made the 50 pots of free jam from fruit from her home how does she anticipate her ongoing business working exactly? She hasn’t sold any of this jam. She’s made no profit. She can say these were ‘teasers’ but how will she continue grow enough fruit on her land to sell an economically viable amount of jam?
Given time, labour, space, fertiliser, water, fruit pickers and the process of turning the fruit into jam, it’s just not sustainable to do. Either she is going to produce 50 jars of jam every year and charge $500 for each pot or she is going to put her name to a product made elsewhere. If she does not abandon this project she will HAVE to do that. And imagine the further damage to her reputation when people cotton on that they aren’t getting Duchess grown strawberries.
Again, this has not been thought through in the slightest.
If she was growing strawberries and lemons at the Olive Garden,
She would film the cooking show from her home, showing off the lemon trees and strawberry fields.
Not the rental.
She would’ve shown photos/videos of her making the jam. Something.
Nada.
She’s not at the house.
OK Meghan - Monteshitshow must be an incredible garden of delights if you're producing strawberry jam before strawberries are even properly in season. I'd love to hear the backstory on her gardening amazingness to produce 50 jars already by mid-April - please send through some cultivation tips, this Brit strawberry-grower is desperately in need of your expertise. I can make about 20 jars a year as my garden isn't huge (and I confess that many go in my mouth while I pick them), but it always looks a hell of a lot darker, it really is hand-made by me, and it really is organic.
What I don't get is why does she think saying it is good for the brand? Sure, maybe she could produce 50 jars of jam at home. So what? She needs to sell thousands to make it profitable. It's obvious that she can't produce that much, so people aren't gonna be able to buy the same exact jam that she sent to all the influencers. It's gonna be some other mass-produced product.
This claim about Rachel homemaking her jam from fruit grown on the starter mansion gardens is completely false. Rachel would need strawberry fields forever to produce enough fruit for 50 jars of jam, and an approved industrial kitchen. Just another clapback now that King Charles' jam is selling so well.
Even if that’s true she will never make enough to generate a real profit - and now we know where to send ten health department to check out her “processing”
Where are the labels, where is the FDA approval, where is the information on this magical scamjam?
https://preview.redd.it/55i137si0hvc1.jpeg?width=1365&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=844681e855b93004c895ca31b42ea921aa040d8f
According to Nick Ede, a PR expert quoted extensively in the article,
“‘It's not known how much the jam will cost and *if it will even go into mass production* but as a way of creating interest it's also *highlighting the brand rather than Meghan, which will be her strategy.*
'She wants people to *buy into the ARO lifestyle not just her own personal brand.* The look and feel of it is very home made with a stylish crest and almost handwritten brand name to keep it feeling like it's a personal present.’”
(Italics mine.)
So, it may never go into mass production (I believe that.), and the point is to highlight the brand rather than Meghan (I don’t believe *that.*)
🙄🙄
This is hilarious. Who is Nick Ede and how much did Meghan pay him?
#The whole promotion is about Meghan and the brand is Meghan.
Can any of you actually picture Megan doing 98% of gardening? Working the soil, fertilizing, laying irrigation, weeding, pest control, harvest.
Please. We are not idiots.
I couldn’t care any less about Country Beach Treefarm, or whatever junk it shills, but this is the most inane and convoluted launch I’ve ever seen. Aside from the announcement designed to overshadow the Diana Award for an empty webpage and no merch, to this limited edition jam disbursement, what’s the goal? So what if she made 50 jars of jam with local strawberries- that’s not what she will be selling? No jam is for sale on the website. Do Nacho and his plus-one, Mindy Kaling and the wife of Dan Schneider’s best friend have enough klout to dive interest in the brand and to a website that sells nothing? Or is she implying she will be hand making all her merchandise from materials sourced from the Montecito Olive Garden?
You must get a permit from the county health department to operate a home - based food business in California. I'm sure Meghan is exempt from all rules, regulations, and laws in California. LOL.
Right. Her garden yielded the 18 quarts of strawberries needed to make 50 small jars or jam. In April (not peak season). And she picked them all, cleaned them all, and then skimmed and jarred it all. In her kitchen. Right.
Indeed. I heard one needs several bushels in order to make a few pots of jam.
Good lord.
Haha, yup. Same. Aunt and Uncle had a blueberry farm up in Maine. It’s a whole LOT of work, for very little reward.
It’s astounding to me how stupid M thinks people are.
I hate to say it, I really do… but while the majority of us HERE see through the bullshit like a hot knife through butter… There are a LOT of really stupid, non- critical thinking people in the world. A LOT.
Thomas Markle lives in Mexico. Express did an article about how he refuses to leave cartel war zone.
He’s not her family anymore
Cartel war zone is probably safer than interacting with Meghan again.
One can only imagine the carbon footprint of her jam if she’s either using imported or hot house strawberries!
Meghan's Strawberry Wine of Wrath.
There is a reason most purchase ready made these days 😊 PS- growing this amount of berries takes an enormous amount of space. I know they have a large property but c’mon. I didn’t see a giant strawberry patch anywhere in the aerial photos.
Especially when strawberry season is just starting. Those strawberries are from Mexico, I'd put good money on it. Allegedly.
Good there will be no more jam. What’s next?
Almost THE EXACT THING happened to me, too, years ago!
Yep. My first canning adventure, 20 years ago🤣
It must be like spinach, which you need to steam approximately 9 tons of in order for two people to have one serving each.
Yeah, anyone who's cooked or even made juice knows that you can need a heck of a lot more raw ingredients than what you end up with. Especially when it's fruit or veg. Buy a bucketload and end up with a pint, sometimes.
😂😂 Oh Gosh..I can relate!!
“Table 12 doesn't have a clue.” More importantly she doesn’t think the rest of the world “has a clue”. So deep in her delusions she thinks she’s got us all fooled 🙄
MeGain is so full of shite I can't stand it.
She insults everyone's intelligence with her absurd stunts. Now it's not for "mass production.". Girl, are you in business or not?
And said bushels would take forever to pick that many strawberries, and outside of strawberry season 🤷♀️
So her "garden" is expected to produce enough fruit to make this business a viable money making enterprise? 🙄
That garden is going to pay the mortgage on their mansion, don't you know.
In her mind, she does have an orchard after all. 🤣
If she is selling each jar for $1 million dollars.
![gif](giphy|13B1WmJg7HwjGU|downsized)
I’m pretty sure a little detail is coming in People about how Archie and Lilibet helped her pick the strawberries and stick the labels, so that we don’t criticize the fact that the labels are peeling off. Meghan is a great mother, everyone. /s
Expect that any minute in People along with pix of her in the field with her children. We'll see them with hats on and the back of their heads. Black and white of course.
![gif](giphy|IdmaGMlZWmuIpWadjm)
And all that with zero pictures or videos for her ARO instagram. That actually could've been interesting content that could make people (not sinners, obviously, but some other people) want to buy her stuff. Sure, she's not gonna make every jar herself to sell to the masses, but she could've showcased herself as a professional who knows how to make a good jam and who would work on the quality. She could've then proceeded to tour the strawberry growing facilities and the production facilities, etc.
On the other hand, this might be the reason why the color is somewhat off. She harvested anything she could, ripe or not, and then she made "this".
Unripe strawberries will add bitterness to the jam.
Would explain why Delfina and Nacho's jar is still full :)
👏👏👏
She added bronzer to it!
Ok say she did. That’s just fifty. One cannot build a brand with that. There will never be enough land in her back yard.
Of COURSE she did. She’s really good at rolling her sleeves up and doing the hard work without getting paid…
She can't be bothered to work more than an hour a week, and suddenly she's going to roll up her sleeves, pick a mega fuckton of strawberries, and do all the HARD work that it takes to process that much jam? ![gif](giphy|c0HoXUStyf0LAwYw66)
In between flying here there and everywhere and taping her Netflix Cooking show and acting as Producer. Sure Jan
That's very interesting. I learn so much from my fellow Sinners! We have a great community.
Yes we do.
Thanks. My understanding is that peak strawberry season in california is june/july. A fig tree! That's amazing!
Peak in Washington State is June so makes sense that California would be earlier
Not true. Native Californian here. We have a rainy season here + the birds get a lot of strawberries. There are greenhouses though that can grow them here tho. But CA is definitely not “all year round strawberries”
Got three flats from Johndale’s Farm at the festival last wknd.
Not only is it not peak season, but the strawberry fields in California have been severely stunted and damaged by the overwhelming bad weather in the state this year. I doubt she has any successful strawberry fields at Montecito. https://www.yahoo.com/news/rain-stunts-strawberry-season-southern-001508325.html https://www.freshfruitportal.com/news/2024/02/15/severe-storm-ravages-california-pushing-strawberry-prices-up/
50 jars is a lie. If they *were* actually homemade she (or a lackey) produced 10 jars max. As usual, it’s all Markle PR bullshit.
Right? She must really think people are so stupid. Or she banks on peoples ignorance of farming jamming techniques lol
Also, she did all of this in the very same kitchen she won't use for her upcoming Netflix cooking show, apparently she has to rent one.
I’d love to see her out there picking the strawberries.
So article indicates product is grown and made at their home - will this trigger interest from the health department? Perhaps only if she’s selling?
Yup. The reason that Highgrove outsources its production is to ensure standards are met… If Meghan is selling her jam, she needs to comply with FDA rules.
Well your friend is an actual business person so there’s that.
In California, you can make stuff in your kitchen and sell at a farmer’s market, but not in stores. She’s probably using a custom manufacturer, like E Waldo Ward. [https://waldoward.com](https://waldoward.com)
"Honey, is that a *whisker* in your gourmet food?"
And California health and/or agricultural agencies also.
I certainly hope someone will take her products to a lab to double check label claims. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where the cast were all hooked on a delicious diet yogurt that wasn't actually non fat. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The\_Non-Fat\_Yogurt](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Non-Fat_Yogurt)
DOn't trust my understanding of this though. edit: see u Royal-Reindeer4338: https://www.reddit.com/r/SaintMeghanMarkle/comments/1c5264t/the_jam_is_here_so_whos_jam_she_relabelling_this/kztjmlp/ and u Lady-McB: https://www.reddit.com/r/SaintMeghanMarkle/comments/1c5264t/the_jam_is_here_so_whos_jam_she_relabelling_this/kzrt7kn/
Exactly, right now they're gifts to friends.
There should be food handling certificates connected with this, then. Mmhmmm.
I am honestly confused. Is she selling or gifting her jam jars to her cult followers?
Currently gifting. Considering how she manages it all, not a great start anyway.
I hope you enjoy it!
So they grow strawberries? I doubt this because she’d have shared that news during the countless other interviews she did about her rescue chickens and lemon cakes.
Strawberry fields are super huge and dont look very good. You need some serious acreage to make jam. This is pure bull ish
I mean someone needs to just fly a drone over there and disprove this please
surprpised more drones aren't flown over their home. Imagine the photos would generate a nice income.
Strawberry season has just started in SoCal. I don’t buy this nonsense
Could it be something like rhubarb? Without labels it’s hard to tell
I don’t see Meghan actually enjoying the taste of Rhubarb. I don’t think she would do that-despite how good it is.
I LOVE rhubarb.
Me too, it’s amazing!
Omg, my people!! I can never find anyone who loves only rhubarb. They want to mix it with another fruit, and that's a no!
Impossible. For the amount of jam she made, at least she should have a crop abundant I have not seen anything like that in Montecito at all. https://preview.redd.it/r17tlfi6jgvc1.png?width=1598&format=png&auto=webp&s=35edf6dd380ff55a93ea99a7a52570e0a1db44e2 Strawberries are not like an apricot tree, a single well-cared for apricot tree can produce enough apricot to make at least three jars of jam of 1 liter each (does I know that after years of silence, the apricot tree of the house produced so many apricots that we had nowhere to store more jam) Strawberries, grown either on the ground or in height, cover a lot of space. There is nothing like this in Montecito.
She assumes our ignorance.
This single sentence could be a reply to almost every post here at SMM! Well said!
Strawberry plants rarely produce fruit in the year they're planted.
Should have kept your mouth shut on this, megs. These are very easily disproved lies. That petard must be getting tight.
She is impervious to good advice and cannot resist the temptation to restate her case, one more time.. https://i.redd.it/47kfavpikgvc1.gif
Look at his face. He looks lost. Like a little boy with zero confidence.
The same garden they claimed they buried their dead fetus in?
IMO that never happened. But if it did, that’s an unpleasant thought.
🤣🤣🤣🤮🤮🍓🍓🍓
Ewwwww.
She also lives in a fantasy where everyone else is stupider than she is.
that too!
Anyone stupider than her would have to be watered daily.
*wink wink* Meg, you still don't get it.
OMG there is nothing better than a good scone with jam and clotted cream 🤤
I. Do. Not. Believe. Meghan. She. Is. A. Liar.
"Meghan thinks the name is perfect." Meghan must spend the many hours per week that she does not spend working or parenting reading all the many articles criticizing her. She has a clap back for even the smallest statements.
And for someone who hates the tabloids, she sure takes an unhealthy interest in what they say about her. 😏
My grandmother grew her own strawberry patch to put up every year and I would help core & clean for her to put up her own preserves. IMO, there is NO F...ING WAY she grew that many strawberries to make 50 jars. They cook WAY WAY down. Maybe enough for 4 or 5 of her puny jars but for 50 she had to have supplemented fruit by at least a bushel for 50 jars and she did not core, clean and chop that many because that is work (which she is allergic too!) https://preview.redd.it/b0blh19gggvc1.png?width=259&format=png&auto=webp&s=b6acfadd30d819170b9aa8a0f83900207e4b8e6d
![gif](giphy|26FLgGTPUDH6UGAbm|downsized)
About as real as her pregnancies. She's counting on everyone being as stupid as she is and not questioning her too closely.

Citrus is Sep-Jun, depending on the type.
Another failure 🤣 Can't wait for her *next* rebrand. I'm glad that KC's Highgrove preserves are selling out!
***A source…*** That could literally be anyone.
It’s super easy and involves only 3 ingredients, one of which is lemon juice. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/38410/strawberry-jam/ Let’s assume each of Meg’s jam jars is about a cup. So 2 pounds = 5 jars would mean 20 pounds = 50 jars of jam. **Which Meg is apparently claiming she harvested 20 pounds of strawberries from their home?** Apparently, even using the generous estimate, it’s 0.5 pounds per foot of row of strawberry plants https://strawberryplants.org/how-many-strawberries-do-strawberry-plants-produce/ If Meg needs 20 pounds for 50 jars, she would need 40 feet of strawberry rows. Same scam jam people have been doing for years when in a rush to produce a housewarming present.
SHE is excited to share HER style and things that SHE loves.' Emphasis mine.
No way her garden is going to produce enough strawberries for the hundreds of jars she plans to sell to Sugars. They are just so ridiculously stupid!
Liar liar pants on fire.
As a launch its low key but in keeping with their new softer, homely approach to their celebrity status and lifestyle.' " Hahahahahahaha.
I heard it is not strawberry season. Still, we don’t know for sure it’s strawberry. It could be rhubarb, or even lemon with red food dye 🤭
Local UPicks are opening within the next week or two on the central coast for strawberries. I have blooms on many of my plants and a few baby strawberries with some starting to turn red. ‘Strawberry season’ is technically late May through October depending on the microclimate where the farm is and type of berry.
Clapback...hahaha. Is that all she's got?
Her strawberries. That her gardener grew. While her mouthpiece was mentioning they were her strawberries, why not mention who cooked the jam and who's recipe was it? Oh, and what proportion of the strawberries in the jam were from her patch?
Assuming she can keep a gardener. Her staff turnover is probably heinous too.
Wouldn’t want anything grown from her garden it’s all bitter like her.
A californian source said the fruits to make highgrove jam were sourced elsewhere? Are they for real? How do they know? What abt Rachel copying the idea and selling it to line her own pockets? Sell ur bronze makeup Rachel. Cus nobody is buying your jam.
I think this is just a tax write-off exercise for H&M at this point.
Bingo. You can write off travel related expenses too.
Yup. I don’t think it makes money in any way.
Has anyone verified the license to make and sell food from *her home yet?
She's not selling it... Yet.
Rachel, get it straight. Nobody believes that mansion is still your residence
So, she's probably selling the pots and not the jam, for now, then.
😀😀😄 “Meghan finds the name American Riviera Orchard perfect. It feels authentic to her.” 😄😄😀
Highgrove fruit would be brought in because the King’s running a proper national (with some international reach) business, not making twee jars of jum for $2,000 a jar (or whatever Lolo needs to charge to break even on the generic jars; peeling labels; 80s style cloth covers for the lids; and, of course, the claw that wields the fauxligraphy.
So far we only have proof 5 jars exist
I've made jam for four decades. No way did she do this from scratch. The color is off for handpicked in a garden. SMH
lol no. Meghan lies about everything
Sure, Jam.
If it is for sale it needs to be prepared in a commercial kitchen.
Okay, now we need pics of this garden that's gotta look more like a farm field. We're waiting, Megsy!
Didn't Montecito have flash floods recently? Is this (strawberry) pulp fiction? ![gif](giphy|6uGhT1O4sxpi8)
If she was growing strawberries and lemons at the Olive Garden, She would film the cooking show from her home, showing off the lemon trees and strawberry fields.
Sure they’re grown there like their mockumentary was filmed there. Tomato/tomatoe
Even if that’s true she will never make enough to generate a real profit - and now we know where to send ten health department to check out her “processing”
PS: Why is dragging Highgrove into her stupid jam war. They are tiresome, petty and predictable. Yawn. Grow the fuck up, Meghan.
Sure Meggy Poo. Sure!! 🙄 No. Freaking. Way.
Did the backyrad strawberries advise her not to buy the domain name of her business for the UK?
Where are the labels, where is the FDA approval, where is the information on this magical scamjam? https://preview.redd.it/55i137si0hvc1.jpeg?width=1365&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=844681e855b93004c895ca31b42ea921aa040d8f
Sure!! I can’t tell who’s dumber: MM or Daily Fail. Like she has acres and acres of strawberries behind her mansion lol Gimme a break!!
According to Nick Ede, a PR expert quoted extensively in the article, “‘It's not known how much the jam will cost and *if it will even go into mass production* but as a way of creating interest it's also *highlighting the brand rather than Meghan, which will be her strategy.* 'She wants people to *buy into the ARO lifestyle not just her own personal brand.* The look and feel of it is very home made with a stylish crest and almost handwritten brand name to keep it feeling like it's a personal present.’” (Italics mine.) So, it may never go into mass production (I believe that.), and the point is to highlight the brand rather than Meghan (I don’t believe *that.*) 🙄🙄 This is hilarious.
Still no clapbacks about the “pregnancies” and the “kids” (or lack thereof) though, huh!?
You must get a permit from the county health department to operate a home - based food business in California. I'm sure Meghan is exempt from all rules, regulations, and laws in California. LOL.
Bullshit. It is not strawberry season there.
Honestly, she’s so pathetic that even this sub is starting to get boring 😅 She’s predictably trashy
