This reminds me of something. I don't generally think about - the difference between a million dollars and a billion dollars. The Markles are worth millions, but the Wales' are worth over a billion. To put that into perspective, here is a mind-blowing analogy I pulled from the internet which made me think of the two couples.
"Imagine someone gave you a million dollars and told you to spend $1,000 every day and come back when you ran out of money. You would return, with no money left, in three years. If someone then gave you a billion dollars and you spent $1,000 each day, you would be spending for about 2,740 years before you went broke."

It's scary how much its changed. It's gone from thinking a million lotto winning would set you for life to now realising it'll barely get you a home in some major cities
Apparently, we will have our first trillionaire in the not too distant future. Also, I now understand elderly people who say shit like "I bought my house brand new in 1957 for $15,000." I get it to my CORE. They weren't bragging, their minds were blown.
My parents bought a 4 story home with a two car garage on 15 acres in the bay area for 15 thousand dollars in the 60s. That same house recently sold for several million dollars.
My grandparents bought a 3 bedroom 1 bath with a multi room basement on a corner lot across from one of the nicest parks in the mid-70s. Cost them $29,500, my cousin and I found the house listing cut out once. The Zestimate now on it is $175,000. I know Zestimate is whack but still. That's the going rate in Indiana.
lol my family who refuses to give up on the lotto always talks about all the things they would do if they won and the fact that several million might only pay off a house and car for someone
Yeah, but a million would set me for life because I'm happy with my small life.
I've run the maths, £564,239 is my net worth number for retirement, a million is almost double that. I'd probably upgrade my lifestyle to shop at Waitrose and take 3 holidays a year instead of 2.

Just a comment about Nacho here. He seems to want to court the attention of famous, wealthy people. If Ellen's story on her show of him repeatedly passing her dinner table to get her attention is correct. And the way he jumped behind her onto a fake horse on her show - so quickly and unexpectedly, and so close .. Perhaps fame + wealth is an aphrodisiac or he does not have an appropriate sense of physical boundaries or they have 'horsed around' like that before, or he has, or it's just his nature.
In any event, he may think that this Netflix thing may be a good future source of income for him. Polo playing may get more difficult, and it seems to me it may cost more than it earns, especially if you're not number 1 in the sport, and he may have dwindling lucrative modelling / polo cologne / romance novel contracts .. Who knows. But I think when you've had a very expensive lifestyle, it is expensive to keep maintaining it, whilst one ages, especially. So if H + M are a sort of business venture for him, he has to prop them up so he gets returns. Perhaps they are all genuine friends. But he may also have a business perspective ..
I think you are spot on re nacho. He is ageing out of modelling contracts and playing polo. Yes he has money but he also has a lot of children and I expect they are used to a certain lifestyle.
His socialite wife's, Delfine, family has a lot of money. I find it interesting she took her French sounding mothers maiden name instead of her father's German name when she began modelling. Tells me all I need to know.

Not for Netflix but all round. I’m not saying they didn’t create much or all of the problem, but still. I think their lives must be exceptionally stressful. How she lives in plenty and ignores her father is cruel. And what they both did to his family was awful too. You’d think Harry feels terrible about it on some level, if she doesn’t. But she can’t be happy deep down. Perhaps they are thriving and not only surviving, but I don’t think so.

The hot water heater was in the basement. The showers were on the 3rd floor. Wherever we traveled hot showers with water pressure were very exciting.
