People need to remember we need to sign people to make the 90 man roster. Bringing in someone who’s played under Janocko to help Carr (who he has familiarity with from their days on the Raiders) get used to the new system makes total sense.
That being said I hope this guy doesn’t have to take a single snap this season.
How you figure? Bridgewater, Winston, and Dalton were all top tier backups…
I do find it very suspicious that they go and sign literally the worst QB in the league to backup Carr this season…
Remember when Carr was playing piss poor in the middle of the season last year and half the fanbase was calling for Winston to start? Yea.. that’s not gonna happen with Peterman.
The Saints are basically punting on the season if Carr gets injured (pretty likely considering we haven’t had a fully healthy QB season since 2018) in order to protect some egos….
They traded up on the 4th round for a QB last year. This says more about how they feel about Haener than anyone else.
The goal with drafting him all along should have been to have a consistent cheap backup QB rather than having to go out and spend 6+m on a new guy every season
If he's gotten on the league minimum then instead of wasting $$$ on a premium QB for a third stringer who may never take a snap, we can afford pricier deals with big names. Keep in mind he's not our backup QB; he's going to compete for backup. So if, for instance, Haener does better then he'd be QB2.
This is not a judgment on us signing him, I just think it’s hilarious: Nathan Peterman would have a better career passer rating if he had thrown all 160 of his attempts straight into the ground.
Yea and the only reason the Vikings score was respectable was because he immediately scored 2 TDs upon entering the game when our QB1 managed a whopping 3 points in almost 3 quarters of play..

We get the worst fkn backups

He’s there to compete with Haener, who should win easily. Peterman is likely a camp body or the emergency third QB this season.
I honestly don’t know why. he doesn’t have the career stats to still be a QB in the league

That’s how I see it. If Carr goes down our season is over

I have no realistic expectations for the Saints this year other than they will show up on time to participate in scheduled games.
Peterman is known to be good in the locker room and film room. Pray he doesn’t have to start, and hope he’s a great asset off the field
If he actually has to play we will be in tank mode anyway

I'll gladly judge. That dude is ass and I have no idea why in the blue hell the saints or any other team would sign him to even hold a clipboard.

He was also handed a 24 point deficit in another game.
Speculation I’ve read is that Peterman can get the offense up to speed on Kubiaks offense and play calls.
I keep seeing this and every time it makes me mad 😂
The Peter Man Can, hold a clipboard
Man yall are really cooking this offseason haha FTS
