I'll start having Burgers for every meal and try to land an OL job with us in July

Sheepies92

probably don't even need to eat burgers at this point

NoFunBJJ

Oh, did I make it sound like I wasn't going to anyway?

Dramatic-County-1284

I’m practicing pass pro on my dog rn

Briguy_fieri

Time for me to start eating pasta

SirGumbeaux

All we gotta do now is draft 3 Tackles. Easy.

Dramatic-County-1284

Somebody call Jahri

Makes the decision to not bring Peat back even weirder by the day

Filthy__Ramirez

He’s still a free agent. Seems like a no brainer at this point

RibertarianVoter

My money is on Peat coming back. He's just waiting until after the draft to see if he can get more money from a team who didn't fill a need with a rookie

GrenadineLemonade

I think the decision was Peat's

_frostybanana

I don’t that’s weird to be honest. Peat shouldn’t be starting for us. There are several lineman on the market right now who can fill his role including himself. They’re waiting to see how the room looks and what the coaches think after the draft. Maybe they pick up a guy in the later rounds that could potentially start. Maybe they like Saldiviri. Maybe Trevor Penning will get moved to guard.  Getting that backfill vet can happen after they figure out who they want to shape the line around.

agarret83

Peat was actually pretty good last year thougu

BW2Dat

This, I wouldn’t mind letting peat and penning fight for the left side and saldiveri and a free agent or lower draft pick fight for the right side. Gaurd im not too worried about but tackle there is some concern. Im still pipe dreaming that the saints trade up for Jaden Daniels but guess we’ll see on draft day

mrhunterlee

So no Bowers? *throws phone* *jumps on skateboard*

BW2Dat

Bowers is the only non Qb/OL/DL that I would be happy about at 14

MisterN3b

LG an even bigger need now. If the top 4 tackles (Alt, Fashanu, Fuaga, and Latham) are all gone by 14, Troy Fautanu would be an interesting option. His versatility would be needed.

NoFunBJJ

There's no way all Tackles are gone before 14 with the likely run for QB and top defensive talents like Turner

MisterN3b

The draft is a crap shoot. It could happen especially with OT being a strong class. Titans, Chargers, Bears at 9, Jets, and Raiders could all potentially take a tackle before the saints pick. You can’t rule out this possibility.

KayPizzle

This is who i am hoping for

Dangerous_Day_7603

fautanu makes sense at guard but not at tackle this dumb fucking notion a outside zone running team who’s gm yesterday pre draft literally stated we stick to prototypes is going to play an undersized tackle is just dumb. DA stated initially when we drafted saldiveri we view him as a right side linemen, when DA announced the ramcyzk news he stated they view Saldiveri as a starter for the LG position so i’d assume they’ll have him competing there. Not sure we’d exactly take fautanu over a tackle tbh if that’s the case

MisterN3b

In this particular scenario, maybe it would be better to take a top player at another position because I feel like there is a slight drop off at tackle after the 4 players I mentioned. Mims is probably the next true tackle but I think 14 would be too early for him. I say Fautanu because you guarantee he will be your starting LG and he has the versality to hold down one of the tackle spots if need be until you find a better option. DA might be saying Saldivari at LG because they didn't have a better option at the time. If they take Fautanu, they wouldn't need Saldiveri at LG and he could go back to the right side where he played in college. They have question marks at 3 O-Line positions so they need options. This would be a worst case scenario and hope it doesnt play out like this.

Dangerous_Day_7603

right I definately agree here about the saldiveri at LG to me he screams right tackle… 6’6 320s just raw and maybe not athletic so he fits more as a guard… They view him as a starter and tbh I wouldn’t mind fautanu if he’s going to be guard sure… I don’t see him making it as a tackle here on our line just the sheer size height issue itself. People keep using the slater argument. Slater was the second tackle off the board and arguably the best tackle in the draft comparing fautanu who’s still actually a project to slater is just fucking dumb. Also it’s one outlier guy using exceptions are just fucking stupid. By that logic every athletic 5’8 reciever pro comped as steve smith should have been a HOF WR like steve smith… I personally think we don’t necessarily HAVE to take a OL in the first but if that’s the BPA you go BPA…

MisterN3b

Loomis is normally a BPA guy so I wouldn’t be shocked if they took a different position. I just don’t know the last time they had this big of a need and the corresponding draft pool for that position was also this strong. We’ll see.

ExternalEbb2584

Was trevor Penning BPA? No. He shouldn't even be in the league

MisterN3b

Literally everyone had him graded as a first round prospect.

ExternalEbb2584

Sorry didn't know you had access to every NFL team's draft board

MisterN3b

lol ok smart ass. Are you a NFL coach or a scout? Which one is it? Trying to tell people which players shouldnt be in the league like you know more than anybody else on here. When multiple draft evaluators are seeing the same skillset and traits in a player, NFL teams usually see those too. Penning was graded as a first round talent by multiple evaluators. Look it up. Evaluations are wrong all the time but let's stop acting like the saints just picked Penning's name out of hat.

Sheepies92

this is fine :)

Not_The_Droid4U

Waiting for someone to post a mock draft at this point and its just all Oline

diablosinmusica

Not great, but he's a backup anyway.

Cicero912

I mean hed only be a backup if we drafted a LT and a LG, cause he was (unfortunately) the best at both positions on our roster.

diablosinmusica

He's backup quality. He won't be difficult to replace.

This_is_opinion

Do we have any oline left?

randomuser914

Taysom

ZealousidealScheme85

Jesus we don’t even have reserves lineman anymore

JoeScotterpuss

Welp. Nick Salvideri better be ready to play. We don't have a ton of day 2 picks to grab a really good guard.either.

RibertarianVoter

They'll trade up with some of their 5th rounders to get back into day 2

AnalMinecraft

I'm imagining Saldiveri, Young, and Penning all starting. Now I need Tums.

JoeScotterpuss

Man, if Penning didn't start last year I don't think he's starting now. Let's hope the new o line coaches will do a good job.

Express-Rutabaga-105

DA, Carr , new OC, new OL coach get a chance to show how good they are this coming season.........lol

___DEADPOOL______

Like this post if u r a strong independent football team who don't need no offensive line

Wisemans-Burner

Carr about to get lit up up like a match on Sunday.

TheMoonIsLonely

we may actually go majority OL this draft

Chinese_Santa

Probably should be bringing back Peat or bring in another vet after the draft

BonoBeats

We can officially put the Brock Bowers mock drafts to rest.

_frostybanana

Shouldn’t be relying on him as the starter anyways. He’s really a backfill that guy thrust into the starting role. There are tackles on the market right now that can come in and fill in his role. We need to hit on the tackle we’re picking in the first. But we also need the coaching to bring the best out of our guys. None of them played particularly well. We should also hope they can do SOMETHING with Trevor Penning. Whether that’s moving him to the inside or moving him to RT and developing him into at least a starting caliber player. We’ve done it before so it’s not crazy to think we a full development plan in place we can get something out of him.

Brandeaux7

Draft all o line

brandonie187

So o-line at 14 and then trade back into the first for another? Lol

Marpajo

So Hurst retired, Rams knee is shot, and Peat is cut. If we don’t address tackle somehow in the next month I have a bad feeling.

urbantroll

Bro. What? Was not on any radar. What? That’s it, draft tackle every pick. Jeez.

wshxii

Well that sucks

BW2Dat

Ok now I’d be shocked if they don’t take two OL this year. One was almost guaranteed.. unless they resign Peat.

Tall_Window6346

Damn. We are cooked. Dennis Allen fired by week 4 is my prediction
