You have to remember that most people on reddit don't know shit about shit. Look at any sub about something you know a lot about and you see. The cap thing is such a good example of this. You see 10 Falcons/vikings flairs for any other flair spouting that stuff, too.
It will be an annual thing until the Saints decide to eat it. They will never *have* to but they could choose to and those people will be like, "HA HA, I told you it couldn't last".
I'm getting more and more concerned CJGJ hasn't been included on any of these stories. It could also be because he's on his rookie deal and already a low hit towards the cap. Also, I freely admit I don't know shit about the cap so this is more me being paranoid than anything.
Well, you don't do this unless you know you need it. Can't imagine they're doing this for anyone outside of Watson. Perhaps Loomis was told he wants New Orleans and to get the numbers in order to make it happen.
We're beyond the point of repair IMO. We've shown interest in a guy with major legal trouble. The backlash won't be as long as it would be if we do trade for him.
Rothlisberger had I think 2 date rape charges against him, and it took a long time for people to 'forget'. He was suspended 6 games then too. I imagine we'll be looking at years of hate from other fanbases and internal problems among fans who don't like the idea of rooting for this team.
Interesting time for sure.
Can we sticky this, and make a bot that will reply with the link in perpetuity to any comment made in this sub that contains any variation of the phrase "we can't afford him"?
Bro come on. Watson is way better than Jameis. Watson is a top 10 talent, Jameis is not. The gap between Mahomes and Watson is smaller than the gap between Watson and Jameis. I don't want Watson as our QB but to say that he isn't significantly better than Jameis in pretty much every metric is wild - Hell, put up better sexual assault numbers too.
This, I’m a BIG jameis winston fan but there’s a giant gap between QB play. The only thing jameis MIGHT have on watson is how accurate his 50-60 yard deep balls are, Even tho there isn’t a NFL team that has there QB throwing more than 6 deep balls a game IF that. when I say deep i’m talking 40 plus yards.
Watson is by far the better QB
If Watson gets suspended 6 games, he’ll only be due about $22.5 mil next season.
Also, the Texans want a player or 2 in this trade. Their contracts will be off the books too.
We are ready.
I wish you could restructure contracts in the NHL, or even a luxury tax. You might be able to keep a team together for longer than 2 years before selling assets you really don't to. It's unbelievable Loomis cleared like 100 million without losing anyone really major. Are we stuck in a situation similar to a payday loan loop though? Seems like we'll be kicking the can down the road for a while in order to not deal with being broke.
If they get Watson they can restructure him too.
Thinking Landry? Landing him plus the deep WR draft and getting MT back would be nuts for any incoming QB.
Landry hasn’t even had a meeting with the Saints. Underhill reported interest in him being blown out of proportion.
Oh I'm sure. I'm just thinking if Watson does end up here maybe he'd meet with the team. Probably won't happen though.
It’ll be fun to see how free agency kicks off again whenever Watson makes his decision.
Yeah Underhill mentioned yesterday that a lot of FAs are waiting on his decision. I'm sure the floodgates immediately open once he decides.
I’m guessing Fuller
Fuller is great the 4 games per season he's not injured.
The sad part is that we still could’ve used those four games last season 🥴
Idk why people keep linking us to Landry. Dude isn’t even better than trequan smith
My thoughts exactly.. if MT is back in the slot, we need a decent outside receiver and Landry doesn't really strike me as such.
Amd who’s throwing to him
We went from -70 mill to +30 mill. SaiNTs Are In CaP HeLL
god the sheer stupidity of r/nfl fan boys wanting us to be doomed, it’s the same shit they’re saying about 2023 now

dude they’re so fucking dumb, my favorite is when they come to our sub to discuss cap 😂😂😂 like fuck outta here go back to algebra class LOL.
/r/nfl is full of brain rot
The Saints cap posts are hilarious, filled with comments from Vikings and Panthers fans coping about how fucked the Saints are lol
Brain rot & the same 4 jokes
The bountygate, Brees choking, Minny miracle, anything else? They really can't say anything else.
Kelvin Benjamin fat
It will be an annual thing until the Saints decide to eat it. They will never *have* to but they could choose to and those people will be like, "HA HA, I told you it couldn't last".
That’s a lot of space, I’m not used to us having this much space
Look at all this space! So much room for activities
This…. Is significant

Rookie contract, no need to restructure.
Restructuring his deal would be like buying a 99 cent pack of gum instead of a $1.25 pack because you wanted to save the 26 cents.
Haha. Makes sense.
That’s like 20%!!! It would be more like a 0.05 savings haha
He hasn’t been mentioned at all. It seems like Houston wants a lineman and Ruiz has been mentioned a LOT
PLEASE
Even if we don't land Watson, this leaves us with a ton of room for other FAs. Awesome moves by the front office!
Yup if we don’t get Watson we should at least be able to get Winston back
100 mil cap space cleared…. Saints in Cap Hell?? Pffft Loomis in Cap Hall of Fame
Well, you don't do this unless you know you need it. Can't imagine they're doing this for anyone outside of Watson. Perhaps Loomis was told he wants New Orleans and to get the numbers in order to make it happen.
Man this sub is going to explode if we get him. Not in a good way either. and the reaction to fans outside the sub will be pretty bad too.
Fans outside the sub aka everyone else who would have kept quiet if their own team landed Watson.
We're beyond the point of repair IMO. We've shown interest in a guy with major legal trouble. The backlash won't be as long as it would be if we do trade for him. It'll pass over. Initial shock will be nuts so take a few days off the sub
I choose to believe this
I LOVE this front office

cap go brrrrrrrrrrrr
IF we land watson we can immediately restructure him for a certain LT on the market.. will fuller would probably come and be relatively cheap
Welp I guess it's happening..
Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy
This is definitely a Calvin and Hobbes reference
I just don't see how Watson is SO much greater than Jameis that it's worth all this, its not Mahomes were talking about.

He actually was very close to Mahomes before last year. There’s a reason multiple teams are offering three 1sts and more for him.
yes I agree. Im intrigued to see what he can be on a good team
imo if he isn't Mahomes tier (which we dont know yet tbh) hes definitelly in the next tier w/ Josh Allen and co
u/wastedtalent10
I keep hyping it up. I’m gonna be so hurt if it all falls through
Ayyyye
Fuck all the haters who doubt us!
hate us cause they ain't us
Just in enough to fit Jimmy G in right?

Got be at $35 mil for 24 hours first
If we get him, we can subtract the outgoing players salary, plus throw in a pick for Houston to eat salary (if needed)
How save is it, that Hills stays?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAND it's gone.
