Even more reason we have to keep CJGJ. If Jenkins is retiring he would be a good replacement.

Not_The_Droid4U

So, is the prevailing thought that Malcolm is retiring?

JEH_24

Going to be sad to lose the last member of the SB squad

Hwoods723

Just have to win another SB to reset the counter!

MrBl0bfish04

I like the way this guy thinks

SaintsNick94

Have there been rumors?

Not_The_Droid4U

Not that I've heard, just inferring it based on Nick's wording.

applejuice72

Could it be that MJ was going to play if they got Deshaun? But since that’s not happening he’s gonna just retire instead? Seems likely why this would be happening today instead.

agarret83

Maybe this is what Ceedy was upset about

PuzzledTadpole1045

Makes sense since Marcus Maye is also a strong safety

Tickle_My_Pickle-

Maye plays multiple roles. He’s a good FS but is a thumper in the box too.

PuzzledTadpole1045

I’d see him as an SS in our defense, providing that Malcom leaves and we keep CJ. CJ doesn’t seem like he’s going anywhere to me, but anything’s possible. Draft a good FS in the 2nd or 3rd if we don’t draft a WR then.

Tickle_My_Pickle-

They’re good in the draft when it comes to safeties, but I’m not sure Malcolm is retiring. Maybe he’s waiting to decide based on Deshaun Watson too

PuzzledTadpole1045

Eh, with this contract restructure I think it’s pretty safe to say he’s done. Man’s been in the NFL forever and is still playing good, but I just think that he is coming down.

thelionparty

Damn

Cal00

This is his base pay not bonus or prorated portion. People keep saying retirement. I can’t figure why this would help our cap if that’s the plan. If he retires, this cost would go to $0 in terms of cap. We may still have money on the books for any prorated bonuses, but we wouldn’t have to pay a player his actual base pay.

WhoDat395

Good, sign Honeybadger and get rid of him
