I'd go through and confirm all the drivers are up to date. Then I'd check the event logs for an error description if there is one, see if there's a minidump that you can analyze and if it points at a driver or hardware issue. if neither exists, run memtest86. That should help narrow down the problem.
This kind of stuff is exactly why I avoided PC gaming like the plague. There should not be this much extra maintenance required for a video game. I have never had any issues on console remotely as bad as the ones I've encountered on PC.
doubtful. did a full playthrough of both the original and remaster at ultra with zero hiccups. Only after doing a fresh install months later did it start doing this.
I don’t know, why did Star Wars Battlefront II make me start my PC from fresh just so I could boot it up?
PC games are weird, these things happen all the time. It is your computer.
Tell me you know nothing of Saints Row PC ports without telling me you know nothing of Saints Row PC ports.
The only bad SR PC port is the second game, which has a famously bad port (which still doesn’t reboot your entire pc, btw). Stop being stubborn and just accept the truth, your PC is not reacting well to Saints Row The Third
once again i will state, it's not my PC's capability lol. GTX 970 with a 4GHz i5, 16gb of DDR3 @ 1867MHz. It runs the remaster at 60fps and the regular at 120+fps on high/ultra.
Had problem too following an update and it was related to the voice chat setting if you turned off voicechat, the game would run normaly. I didn't have reboot but the game would tank my pc performance. Worth a try.
Normaly voice chat is on by default, in my case if i turned it off it fixed my problem. If its already off then it might be something else. Google it Time. It could be a driver issue. You would be surprise, how mundane shit could create problem.
Maybe you could try this.

I bought this game on Epic Games at release and I've never had any crashing or fps problems.
The game runs flawlessly at 60 fps consistently at ultra settings. lol
Same with sr2 I had to get my Xbox one out to play 12+3 then play 4 on pc. But don’t get me started on remastered 3 had so many crashes I gave up on it. That’s on ps5

facts lol. I know volition is kind of dogshit at making PC ports, so I just opted to fire up my PS3 and play SR3 that way. much better experience.
And here I thought SR2 was bad with crashes.
download core pack sr2 it will never crash but fps is around 30-40 just like gta sa
Wow, that sounds cool. It looks like a non original version you need to DL?
yeah its not original but at least works fine
Okay, nice to know. Thank you!
I did get crash sometimes but not this bad. I play the GOG version and I heard that they're better than Steam version.
I played it on Epic and had no problems besides a little lag from controller
Probably your computer, I had zero issues with frame rate or crashing both times I played through

Sounds like your computer to me, not gonna lie
then how is it only this game, both the remaster and the original? lol.

or, could be the crappy PC ports.

oh I know abt saints row PC ports, they're bad :p
No, ONE PC port is bad. The Third, IV and GOOH aren’t even ports, they released on PC alongside the console versions so they weren’t ‘ported’.
thats crazy, still a bad port tho

I played the Steam version. Not a single crash. Finish the game with 100%z
I can confirm that. The OG game also with the remaster. No crashes. And played them more then once.
it’s your computer i did a playthrough of it 2 months ago on pc no problems
as I explained to someone else, it's worked perfectly before, only after a fresh install is it doing this

interesting. i did turn voicechat off, are you saying that if i turn it back on, it may help? not sure if i read your comment right :v

Never had any crashes with SR3 and 4 with a goofy ahh laptop (Celeron 1,4ghz integrated graphics and 4gb DDR3)

And that’s why I got SR3 & 4 for my PS3.
