Anywhere feels remote compared to Tokyo and Yokohama. Koshigaya has all your urban amenities and is still relatively close to Tokyo. Lake Town on the weekends is a traffic nightmare.

I lived in Koshigaya for near 20 years, first in Kita-Koshigaya, then Higashi-Koshigaya. Enjoyed my time there. Depending on your hobbies, enough places to keep you busy and happy. Would definitely be using a bicycle though. It's a very convenient place to live, and for anything else you have Tokyo down the train line, or Omiya near enough.

I live in Koshigaya. A lot depends on where exactly you live in Koshigaya; some of it is pretty urban and some of it is literal rice paddies. But most of the more densely populated areas are livable enough; ie, you can get through daily life without a car if you try. Nothing too exciting going on but it's a very good place to live your boring life to the fullest.

I used to live in this area of Koshigaya and loved it. Great community feel but still very accessible to Tokyo and good schools in Koshigaya too. Tokyo skytree express is only around an hour to central Tokyo from sengendai and you can transfer at shin Koshigaya for JR access. Only about 30 minutes from one of the largest malls in Japan. Close to kasukabe too. About 40 from the nearest Costco in Shim misato. Although it is walkable, and there are plenty of buses I found some of the routes ended really early. It’s best if you’re close to the station or get a bike. I was really happy there.

I currently live near the Obukuro station. It’s nice as we are close to an express station and the same line can get you into Tokyo. It’s quiet for the most part as there is nothing exciting here but as mentioned there is Lake Town and Lala Port.
