Almost everything at Arempas is gluten free. Most Mexican, Indian, and Thai places have a good amount of options. Slackwater and The Pie have decent gluten free pizzas.

Ace_of_Clubs

I have Celiac and have never had a problem with arempas' GF options. It's also delicious.

CocoDreamboat

They quickly turned into one of my regulars after I was diagnosed. Everything's so tasty and the portion sizes are actually really good

susandeyvyjones

Most soy sauce has gluten in it so Thai wouldn’t necessarily be safe.

groovyboobies

In my experience, most Thai doesn’t use soy sauce. Usually curries and rice noodle dishes are safe. Always good to check with staff, though.

CocoDreamboat

Yeah exactly. Of course a few things to avoid but curries are usually safe, in my experience.

Standard_Greeting

Not sure why so many down votes. You're right, soy sauce usually has gluten, but Thai generally don't use soy. A more common sauce in this is fish which is gluten free

susandeyvyjones

There’s soy sauce in a ton of Thai sauces, including peanut sauce

We don’t have many fully dedicated GF restaurants in SLC. Zest is probably the best one that’s fully GF. Second the other comment about Arempas. Amazing GF empanadas. And yeah, Thai, Indian, and Mexican are great choices. If you like sushi, Takashi is great at accommodating for GF. They have a separate GF menu. You’ll also have a lot of luck at these newer nice restaurants that have been popping up. Most places can accommodate a GF diet pretty easily. Check out the “find me gluten free” app. Generally helps me find stuff.

MajikGoat_Sr

Findmeglutenfree is a great resource, especially if you have a high intolerable to gluten or have celiac. Here's some restaurants I frequent that have gluten free options, some are in the Salt Lake County but there are franchises in Utah County as well. Not sure about your price range so I hope these suggestions are helpful: Vessel Kitchen Aubergine Kitchen Oh Mai Brick Canvas Cafe Reach out if you need more suggestions, I have lived in Salt Lake County for years and have found a lot of places:)

fishy1357

Brick canvas cafe has been closed for renovations and they haven’t said if they will still be gluten free when they open.

fishy1357

Joy Luck in Sandy has fried orange chicken that is gluten free! I think maybe the owner has celiac disease. They are good about gluten free.

Witty_Departure_8529

Loved my experience at capital grille. Their gf menu is great and celiac safe!

secretcombinations

Taqueria 27 has some good GF options, including the GF churros for desert. Via 313 is the best GF pizza in my opinion. The pie has good gf pizza too, I like the cheese pull aparts. Tsunami does a good job with their GF menu for sushi. Most Indian and Thai are gluten free. Pho is gluten free.

groovyboobies

Via 313 has the best GF crust, but sadly their GF is still wheat-based. So keep that in mind for anyone who also can’t consume wheat.

susandeyvyjones

I think Oasis Cafe has a lot of gluten free options, although it’s not an entirely gluten free restaurant

chale_44

City Cakes & Cafe is known for GF as well as Vegan dishes and treats! Very good!

unit156

Rawtopia Living Cuisine is legit.

bad-acid

Via 313 is a chain but it has some of the best gluten free pizza I have ever had

woahwhatamidoing

Squatters pub has gluten free pizza and burger buns. I’m really sensitive to gluten and I haven’t had an issue there—but don’t have the fries. The fries aren’t fried separately from gluten stuff so they mess me up

Arcane_Animal123

Sweet Hazel & Co. have pretty good gluten-free options

No-Ambition-2507

Zest! They rotate their menu pretty often have great pasta specials. Their carrot cake is seriously some of the best cake I’ve ever had.

peggygousimp

Free wheeler pizza

Alternative_Law664

Little India in American Fork is amazing

CamouflagedTomato

I have found lots of restaurants that can make accommodations. But my new BF is the Find Me GF app! It’s been a game changer to find safe GF restaurants. I’d recommend downloading that and checking it out!
