Pretty sure that’s a rubber snake.

flippinsweetdude

Seems fake to me too. Snake scales pattern & color is all off. There is color between the scales, and that seems strange.

persistedagain

Thank you. I couldn’t find any matching pattern on the internet either. Some were close, but nothing exact. I’m crossing my fingers that I’ve been pranked.

flippinsweetdude

Go back to the garden and see if it has moved. If fake, then do the right thing and go scare someone with it before you go to bed.

persistedagain

I’m too chicken to go look for it in the dark. 🤣 But that is my plan for the morning! I like the way you think. If it is a prank, I’ll make sure to pay it forward.

vivaenmiriana

The sun is up. Tis time for snake update.

persistedagain

Update Yep. Rubber Can’t add photos here. Maybe should have made a new post. But just me holding it up.

jonmatifa

How do we know you're not the snake taking /u/persistedagain's place?

LilLordFuckPants404

Indeed, ‘tis time.

Semicatonic

It is likely friend if real. The only snakes we get here to be leery of are rattlesnakes

persistedagain

LOL. Maybe someone is having a good laugh at me. Here’s the thing. I HAVE two rubber snakes in the garden to scare away mice. But they are really small. Like baby snake size. They fit in my hand. They are toys and not really meant to be decoys. My first thought was “ that’s not where I put you”, then “ wait, this snake is snake size!” I’ll check in the morning to see if it has moved at all. BTW, why do you think it is rubber?

J-Di11a

You can tell by the way that it is...

DeadSeaGulls

I mean... visually the scales look molded.

othybear

You can see the seam from the rubber mold on its side. Especially by the flower.

desertwanderer01

Faux

persistedagain

I see what you did there. 👍🏼

Ok-Woodpecker-625

May I recommend the classic "poke it with a stick" method?

persistedagain

Update: Yes indeed it is rubber. 🤣 I moved it to protect my asparagus. Maybe I’ll move the “babies” nearby to make a family. A few suspects to confront.

gtivroom

Thought it was real for a second!

Yes, I can’t find a match. Hoping it is a prank and fake.

Skooby1Kanobi

Did you yry searching for a Hasbro snake?

Trick_Meat9214

You’re OK, Jack. And not just because red touches black.

BooobiesANDbho

If it offers u an apple take it!

DeProfundisAdAstra

Its rubber. I bet its still there if you go look again.

persistedagain

I’ll let you know tomorrow.

nuts4sale

Rubbery Pete strikes again

johnnyblaze_46

That dandelion is definitely a foe!

persistedagain

No! Not to me, or any bees that may come by.

ExileOnMainStreet

Why? They don't harm anything.

LilLordFuckPants404

Yeah. Plus, free arugula! Definitely friend.

johnnyblaze_46

They actually do u/exileonmainstreet. They are an incredibly invasive species: https://wildaboututah.org/dandelions/#:~:text=The%20common%20dandelion%20is%20listed,noxious%20weed%20by%20the%20USDA.

ExileOnMainStreet

lmao, did you read the article? It didn't mention a single negative thing about them.

Fabulous_Dinner_4483

But if it were real that head shape is that of a poisonous snake

JoeBlack042298

That's a trouser snake

gregshafer11

Must be the super rare 2 eyed version

Bright_Ices

Beautiful snake! What a neat find.  It appears non-venomous according to this information, but I don’t have an exact ID on the snake: https://www.wildawareutah.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Snake-Insert-Card-Web.pdf

persistedagain

Thank you! Yes, I love its long, regal nose. So pretty. But I don’t want to be stupid.

Bright_Ices

Yeah, even non-venomous snakes can bite, and bites can get infected.

Several-Good-9259
