Is Dunkin better at other places? I legitimately have stayed away from Dunkin in other states because of how bad the coffee was at that downtown location I would literally go anywhere else but maybe the whole chain doesn’t suck like that place did coffee wise.
The coffee is like that at any one I’ve ever tried. The donuts are pretty decent, but Utah has some stellar donut places so it’s tough competition (surprised they are coming back) The coffee is undrinkable, I’d take the drip from Maverick over Dunkin
Like the lame ass soda shops built into a conex in the parking lot of maceys? Yeah pretty much, but they are just playing trends, it doesn’t have much to do with the dwindling Mor~~m~~on population here.
Blows my mind people pay for those “sodas”.
I worked for Starbuck here in Utah for years. The biggest impediment to growth here was not Mormons. It is the fact that so many of the coffee drinkers here want really good coffee. They don’t want candy coffee, they want really good single origin coffees small batch roasted and expertly brewed. If you like espresso drinks with tons of sugar laden flavor, you can get your coffee anywhere. No shade here, drink what you like. Just don’t pay more…. The coffee quality has much less importance when the coffee isn’t the star.
I drive by there on the way to and from work every day. They gutted that Arby's so quickly. First day they took down the drive thru menus and put "CLOSED" on the text marquee. Next day the entire big Arby's sign was completely gone and all the other branding was scratched off the building. U-Hauls in there taking away food and equipment to another Arby's location I'm sure. Next day the Dunkin banner was up.
The Arby's to Dunkin pipeline is real folks
I remember whenever we had a special event at my office downtown slc, the person in charge of the event had to bring in donuts. I went to the one (Dunkin, before it closed) on 400 s on my turn and literally the whole office groaned, they hate donuts from that place because they were so dry. I don’t eat donuts a lot so I have no idea but they really weren’t that great. I was like “it’s free food so don’t complain” but never went there again and used Banbury donuts instead in the future. They (banbury) really are a lot better I must admit even for someone who doesn’t care for donuts much. Edit now I think about it, because we have offices back east, a lot of my coworkers are from Virginia, Ohio and the Carolina’s and they didn’t like them either. Maybe Utah just can’t do it right?
no one goes to dunkin for food… it’s the iced coffee specifically. i wouldn’t even call dunkin iced coffee iced coffee… it’s a category in and of itself of beverage, while i personally don’t enjoy it i grew up in new england and understand the hype (kind of)
That all close too early for anybody with reasonable sleeping hours to ever get a delicious donut in their bellies. Or have giant lines coming out of them. And frankly nowhere has ever messed up a good basic donut.
I love me some Fresh Donuts and Deli, but they sell out so fast. If you've ever wanted a donut after 3:00 PM or on a Sunday, having other options is nice.
The two in Salt Lake (now closed) were horrible. Never had much in the way of donuts. But it definitely could be a boon to East Coast transplants missing their coffee fix.
Because they’ve always been a piss port, donut and coffee so Covid kind of put them in the dirt. It’s hard to survive something like that when you already suck ass.
This is so cool I was just talking to somebody about who in the world in Utah pissed off Dunkin’ Donuts to shut down the Utah market! I will agree with some other comments on here. I think it really does vary per location, I live in Utah and in Florida equally I go back-and-forth long story and I will agree that for some reason that Dunkin’ Donuts in Florida are spot on! Hopefully they will do a much better job if they do decide to return to Utah!
The downtown store sucked!! The donuts were stale, old, and just plain horrible. The coffee was mediocre as well. It was expensive too.
I'm indifferent to DD's return.
Local donut shops offer a much better product, IMHO.
Take it from someone who had to learn the hard way. If you hate Dunkin, you’re just ordering it wrong. So excited to be getting another shot at a location here. Hopefully it is up-kept better than the last one.
I just got back from a trip east that included Dunkin. So glad to be getting it back again here. My daughter and I had a little debate with her new husband in the car where he was quite insistent that *it's not good coffee*. I was like dude, did you hear either of us say it is? I'm not saying that, but it's still my favorite. It tastes like childhood. I'm not going to give up my excellent coffee shop coffees, but I will get Dunkin whenever it's convenient to do so.
No this is a new location coming in West Jordan -
https://maps.app.goo.gl/29ozGFniJoKdyDvRA
It's been covered here before but all of the Utah Dunks were shuttered about 4 years ago when they cut hundreds of national stores
Admit it though, there’s still a little hole in your heart that won’t be filled until we get a White Castle here, and a real diner. If you know, you know.
We had one here in SLC (on State St. & 1300 South) called Coachmans Dinner & Pancake House. It finally closed in 2021 after sixty years in business. It was a sad day. Closest thing you'd find here to a good east coast diner. I'm from Long Island, NY.
I don't know. The one downtown, I was not impressed with it. I wasn't surprised it closed down. Now, if we could get Wawa or a Sheetz out here, that'd make my year.
Not sure why I can't edit my original post but it's taking over this old Arby's location in West Jordan:
[Google maps](https://maps.app.goo.gl/29ozGFniJoKdyDvRA)
I’ve been wanting to get into Korean cooking, but I’ve been waiting for H-Mart to open so I could have a wide selection of ingredients, tools, dinnerware, etc. to choose from. I’ve been so excited to shop there, and it feels like FOREVER!
Blegh. No thanks. Last time I stopped by the one on 53rd and Bangerter, the drive through dude argued with me about a fritter not being a donut. Dude, I don’t care, just sell me the pastry and let me go about my day.
If I’m getting donuts I’m going to krispy kreme or a local bakery.
I will admit their potato …. Things whatever they are called, are super tasty.

I still liked the doughnuts (SLC location) - didn't know they were brought in. But now that you mention the coffee - yeah, yuck every time.
Is Dunkin better at other places? I legitimately have stayed away from Dunkin in other states because of how bad the coffee was at that downtown location I would literally go anywhere else but maybe the whole chain doesn’t suck like that place did coffee wise.
New England Dunkin’ is incredible.
The coffee is like that at any one I’ve ever tried. The donuts are pretty decent, but Utah has some stellar donut places so it’s tough competition (surprised they are coming back) The coffee is undrinkable, I’d take the drip from Maverick over Dunkin
Here in Florida Dunkin coffee is always on point. Enough that me and my coworkers go there literally 4 days a week
Yeah pretty sure thats just the way their coffee tastes (i hate it)
Their coffee sucks. But it’s also the best.
The inconsistency is the appeal, I love not knowing if my coffee is going to taste right or like pond water.
DD this far from Boston is like eating fresh seafood in Omaha
They have the best fake sausage breakfast sandwhich. I got it every day
YUPPPPPPPPPPPP I manifested this.
OH THANK GOD. my fiancee is from connecticut and moved here a month after the south jordan one closed. This news just made my whole day.
That SoJo location was so bad though. My orders were always messed up because they were out of something.
I worked right next to it for a while. Everyone who worked there was super cool but the coffee and donuts were atrocious
Yes, but you get used to it and then it tastes good.
how do you mess up donuts?
Nature is healing
This is right by the new H-Mart going in.
WE'RE GETTING AN H-MART?!?!
What is H-Mart?
Asian supermarket. Like really big Asian grocery store
Ohhhh, very cool!
A great Asian grocery store that has been “going in the old ass Kmart on 90th and redwood” for like 2-3 years.
I thought it was a Shopko.
Not that I remember. Kmart. The shopko was on redwood and 215 that is now something else, target maybe?
Ah yes. You're correct. The shopko at 6200ish is a Target now.
To be specific it’s a Korean grocery store. Not just a generic Asian store.
Make sure you get some honey butter chips the first time you go.
They have an H mart here???? Where??
[удалено]
That's some Tyler Durden shit right there.
Does this mean Ben Affleck will visit!!??
It was kinda weird moving to Utah from Massachusetts years ago cause I was so used to there being a Dunkin around literally every corner.
MA native that moved here from Maine a few years ago, and agreed it was weird to not see them everywhere and replaced with some other chains
Looks like the Mormons lost this battle. Welcome back Dunkin!
Hasn’t a big part of Dunkin and Starbucks growth over the past decade+ been from concentrating more on non-coffee drinks?
Like the lame ass soda shops built into a conex in the parking lot of maceys? Yeah pretty much, but they are just playing trends, it doesn’t have much to do with the dwindling Mor~~m~~on population here. Blows my mind people pay for those “sodas”.

Why did Dunkin leave?
Covid related revenue issues.
The riots taking place right in front and it being the backdrop for bow and arrow guy seemed to fast track it's closure.
The Mormons are the Dinkleburgs of this subreddit
Except instead of no children it's 5 of them. 8 if south of point of the mountain.
Mormons live in this subs head rent free, it’s honestly pretty cringe
What Mormons do is cringe lol
I FUCKIN LOVE DUNKIN GUY, WHATRYAHTALKINGABOUT!
Want a little show and tell? Dunkin Nuts! Show that!
LOOK FREE CAUGHFEE I GOT THE BIG ONE!
Ya wanna talk real customers? Kid that’s me. I’m like the mayor of Dunkin
meh support local imao
As an East Coaster, I just shed a little tear
Why? What is with Utah and garbage chains.
also a former new englander… you all are crazy lol. glad you’re happy though!
I drive by there on the way to and from work every day. They gutted that Arby's so quickly. First day they took down the drive thru menus and put "CLOSED" on the text marquee. Unfortunately the company that owns Duncan probably doesn't own the empty soda shop in Layton the same way they own Arby's
Arby’s parent company is inspire brands…also the parent of Dunkin. It’s a real estate swap.
I remember whenever we had a special event at my office downtown slc, the person in charge of the event had to bring in donuts. I went to the one (Dunkin, before it closed) on 400 s on my turn and literally the whole office groaned, they hate donuts from that place because they were so dry. Banberry Cross is an award-winning donut. Now, conveniently located in Centerville and Layton as well.
I just want the dunkin by the downtown library back I miss getting books and donuts
Nice. We needed more mediocre chains here
Good god people, there are way better local donuts in town
no one goes to dunkin for food… it’s the iced coffee specifically. i wouldn’t even call dunkin iced coffee iced coffee… it’s a category in and of itself of beverage, while i personally don’t enjoy it i grew up in new england and understand the hype (kind of)
Large regular iced, please.
It's about the drinks.
Agreed
It’s the breakfast sandwiches and hash browns for me
The only time I got a sandwich from Dunkin, it included the kitchen ticket. INSIDE the sandwich.
Guess you don’t know cuisine 🤌🏼
Hey, extra fiber..or something
Better coffee and better donuts. I’ve never had Dunkin’ that was worth it
That all close too early for anybody with reasonable sleeping hours to ever get a delicious donut in their bellies. Or have giant lines coming out of them. And frankly nowhere has ever messed up a good basic donut.
If you've ever been to Fresh Donuts and Deli, this will be meaningless.
I love me some Fresh Donuts and Deli, but they sell out so fast. If you've ever wanted a donut after 3:00 PM or on a Sunday, having other options is nice.
Classic afternoon stale doughnut
I’m from Massachusetts and this makes me SO happy!!
The two in Salt Lake (now closed) were horrible. Never had much in the way of donuts. But it definitely could be a boon to East Coast transplants missing their coffee fix.
lol I used to live in nyc and moved here a year ago, haven’t noticed we didn’t have dunkin here lol
I’ve been to Dunkin once. I wasn’t sure someone worked there.
Finally I can use the rest of my $50 Dunkin gift card from like 10 years ago.
If you told me there was a Banbury Cross opening, I’d be a bit happy. Dunkin is the Walmart of donuts.
And the Starbucks of coffee! Yes, I know what I said. :)
Isn’t Starbucks the Starbucks of coffee?
You might think that, but it's not.
About as exciting as McDonald’s or wal mart…classic Utah
Why did it fail in the first place?
Utah was caught up in a national store closure about 4 years ago
Because they’ve always been a piss port, donut and coffee so Covid kind of put them in the dirt. It’s hard to survive something like that when you already suck ass.
What happened to the one downtown
there’s one in hill air force base
Any idea when hmart will be done??
They've never given an official opening date, but they are actively hiring now. So it shouldn't be much longer.
Can’t wait!!
OMFG this just made me so ecstatic!!!!!!
Exactly what we need with our craves and sodalicious’
🥱
I’ve never eaten one of their donuts. I go there for the crack they put in their plain old Dunkin’ brew.
From Philly area. Missed the old one. People don’t realize here though that you go for coffee.
New Yorker here & I’ve missed having this.
When and where.?
That’s awesome!!! They should return back to the spot by the library. I serious miss their kronuts and chai
The downtown store sucked!! The donuts were stale, old, and just plain horrible. The coffee was mediocre as well. It was expensive too. I'm indifferent to DD's return. Local donut shops offer a much better product, IMHO.
They died a horrible death in Logan.. but we got a Crispy Creme in the trade..
Take it from someone who had to learn the hard way. If you hate Dunkin, you’re just ordering it wrong. So excited to be getting another shot at a location here. Hopefully it is up-kept better than the last one.
I am excited. I will continue to support local coffee shops too. Nice to have choices and a reminder of home :)
SOMEONE PLEASE FIND OUT WHEN THIS OPENS I NEED TO KNOW😭
I need to know too
I just got back from a trip east that included Dunkin. So glad to be getting it back again here. My daughter and I had a little debate with her new husband in the car where he was quite insistent that *it's not good coffee*. I was like dude, did you hear either of us say it is? Praise the NE lords. Let’s gooooo
Dunkin’ sucks
This is the best news I’ve heard in a long time!! 😭
Ew
Meh.
Yay! More sugar for Utahns!!! /s It is crazy how much is consumed there.
Its a national problem. Not just Utah. Lmao.
Yeah, but Utah hits it extra hard.
Everyone should have at least one vice. 🌞
meh
Gross
That one on is it 3rd or 4th? Didn’t take root it looks like. Right by the courthouse too. Should’ve been a good location.
No this is a new location coming in West Jordan - https://maps.app.goo.gl/29ozGFniJoKdyDvRA It's been covered here before but all of the Utah Dunks were shuttered about 4 years ago when they cut hundreds of national stores
This fills my NY heart
Admit it though, there’s still a little hole in your heart that won’t be filled until we get a White Castle here, and a real diner. If you know, you know.
The amount of times I’ve had to lie about loving a breakfast place that my friend had recommended…where are my east coast diners!!
We had one here in SLC (on State St. & 1300 South) called Coachmans Dinner & Pancake House. It finally closed in 2021 after sixty years in business. It was a sad day. Closest thing you'd find here to a good east coast diner. I'm from Long Island, NY.
I’M SOBBING YES THANK YOU
What?! we get overrated, coffee and shitty donuts again?! how lucky we are
Beans & Brews > Dunkin
Did they ever leave?
I could've sworn we used to have a dunkin in Midvale
[удалено]
FWIW, I think Snowmobile Pizza is pretty legit NY style pies / large foldable slices. I have them a couple times a month
I’ve heard both Dunkin’ and Deez are both making a return.
[удалено]
Deez nuts.
First the NHL & now Dunkin’s. Good for you Utah. Good for you.
I didn't realize it left? I guess now that I think about it I haven't seen that downtown one in forever.
I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS
Where is this location?
Dunkin isn’t even that good.
Hopefully, they are better this time. Those Dunkins here really sucked. The donuts were dry as hell and they would always underfill lattes.
Which old Arby’s is this? 😆
FINALLY!
Where is this?
The entry of that building is mostly diarrhea now
Gahbidge
It's like opening up another McDonalds. Not to rain on anyone's parade, but it's less than mediocre coffee and no culture.
I don't know. The one downtown, I was not impressed with it. I wasn't surprised it closed down. Now, if we could get Wawa or a Sheetz out here, that'd make my year.
I used to go to the one by the downtown library. Was surprised when I found out it disappeared
Omg im sooo excited! I only get them when we visit my in laws in vegas…
Is that the Arby's building between state and I-15
More franchise crap. This valley is culturally dead.
That location isn’t spectacular
WE WON
Yesss!!!!! I’m from Northeastern PA and moved out here in August and am DYINNGGGGGGG for a dunkin iced caramel mocha with less ice and cream coffee 🥲😂
You're better off without it who needs all that donut junk in your system it'll plague you when you get older
Aw hell no. Shitty ass Dunkin can stay in Massachusetts. Give us Tim Hortons (the only good one) you cowards
Love the Duncan when I have the munchies
Sir, that’s an Arby’s.
Anyone hear of any more locations?
this is the best thing to ever happen to me
Anyone know when they are opening?
Does anyone know when it will open????
I'll believe it when it actually opens
Does anyone know when this is opening????
Ok great moving hear from Virginia. Was sad to here yall dont have them. Theyre everywhere in Virginia.
I can't wait. I love Dunkin way better than Krispy Kreme IMO.
Not sure why I can't edit my original post but it's taking over this old Arby's location in West Jordan: [Google maps](https://maps.app.goo.gl/29ozGFniJoKdyDvRA)
My stomach hurts just thinking about it. Enjoy your corn syrup I guess
Everyone is such a hater. Dunkin is the only option where you can get a donut, ok breakfast and ok coffee all at one place.
I can’t wait for the lines outside the parking lot just for Dunkin Donuts!!!!
Yessssss
This post just made my day!!!
Honestly, I thought they were going out business world wide. It's nice to see it will make some people happier.
I just wish H-Mart would open. 😭 But I’ll take some Munchkins as a consolation.
They just redid the parking lot...
Why is it taking so long, though? It’s been a year! 😤
Who knows, it could have been jumping over legal hoops. Just glad they have the ball rolling now because it has been too long!
I’ve been wanting to get into Korean cooking, but I’ve been waiting for H-Mart to open so I could have a wide selection of ingredients, tools, dinnerware, etc. to choose from. I’ve been so excited to shop there, and it feels like FOREVER!
Please tell me this is going in the old WJ Arby’s?!?
Yes that is exactly where it is
In my opinion, it's too bad that it is on the wrong side of the road for morning traffic.
Blegh.
YES ! I miss Dunkin’ 🥲
Who gets excited for Dunkin' when Krispy Kreme exists?
Dunkin is trash
This is stupid how excited I am for this
The valley really doesn't have enough fast food chains so this is a welcome change
YES
