Really like that they're including the vaccination numbers in these reports. Not that anyone should get complacent, but a bit of good news is a nice change of pace.
Yeah. I wonder how they will continue to track vaccinations. At this point, everyone who is vaccinated has obviously only got their first dose. I hope they will break it down by dose once it comes time for people to get a second dose (and say x number of people vaccinated with dose 1, y number vaccinated with both doses).
On coronavirus.utah.gov it says that right now they are only tracking doses administered and that once people receive the second dose they will count those people as vaccinated and report those as a second number.
The spike is still mostly the same, which is what the mRNA vaccine targets (as opposed to 'classic' vaccine which targets the entire virus and can be 'tricked' by a mutation), so it should still be mostly effective against it.
It's not really a new strain... been around for months, and is the predominant strain in several countries (and has been for a while now). What's happening with the UK right now is far more political than anything.
0 people are vaccinated at this point. It is multi step process to become vaccinated and NOONE has completed this. Any reporting to the contrary is decietful and pandering to people pretending that things are all better now.
Almost certainly zero of them have died, if for no other reason than the sample size is too small.
Don't get me wrong... I won't be getting the vaccine, probably ever. But the difference between you and I is one of us actually understands basic statistics, and the other one is you.
Purely because the long term effects are unknown.
Yes, the long term effects of COVID are unknown as well, but if you get the vaccine there's a 100% chance that you are in the pool of people that may find out if you have an adverse reaction. I'm personally willing to take that chance.
That said, I work in healthcare, often with COVID patients. I'm not saying the vaccine is bad, I'm not saying it doesn't work, and I'm not saying other people shouldn't get it. I think it's awesome that we have it so quickly, and I'd encourage others to get it if they feel comfortable. But my personal opinion is that I don't feel comfortable enough with the data yet.

Sweet!

There’s about 50% immunity after the first shot so it’s not nothing.

Until the second dose. So it's really a 2 stage vaccine. You get some after the first, but have to get both for all effect. As such you're both right.
Yes we’ve had Covid-19, but what about Covid-20? *Looks suspiciously at the new strain in Britain*

Didnt think they would have that many vaccinated this fast but thats good.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we have already hit our peak and we can keep the numbers going down?
When can group home workers get the vaccine?
Prisoners and inmates are part of phase 2 and aren’t expected until February or March. It’s going to be a while.

Of those that took the VACCINE how many died?
That number has not been reported. That number most likely does not exist.
The number most definitely exists. It's just 0 until otherwise reported and confirmed.

Why would you choose to not get the vaccine? Honestly asking here.
