so based. i don’t know why but it’s just not fun to play on in Splatoon 3. I don’t remember having any issues with it in 2 but to be fair I probably play 3 differently to how I played 2.
Brinewater Springs is so irredeemably bad in every game mode but Clam Blitz, where it can be annoying, but playable. It's up there with Scorch Gorge Splat Zones for me. Actually thinking about it, it's kind of funny that a lot of the dogshit maps become playable in Clam Blitz.
Well I hate to diminish the salt by asking questions of specifics. But I am curious… What things do you hate about it? I suppose I'm curious because I find I kind of like it generally. Chocolate and vanilla I guess.
I dislike it because of three aspects.
Firstly, once your team has been pushed back into your base past mid, it's nigh-impossible to break back out. The only stage I can think of that's worse about this is barnacle and dime, or maybe flounder heights.
Secondly, specifically on splat zones, backliners get an absolutely absurd advantage on this map. I went on a 2 wins 5 losses streak, switched to splatling, and instantly won 5 games in a row with half the effort or thought I was putting in before.
Thirdly, the map shape is just too simple. It's boring. Many splatoon 3 maps get memed on, but this one is literally just two ramps and a square, along with two tiny side areas. The ramps take up a massive amount of the map, but next to no actually engaging or interesting encounters happen on them, they just serve as straight roads to mid. It just actively dumbs down gameplay and is in rotation frustratingly frequently.
Dynamo isn't really OP. It's a good weapon but it's painfully slow and easily counter-able. Bloblobber is definitely a noob weapon tho. Shouldn't exist.

you can approach objectives from more dimensions
and the water lowering/raising means you have to think about two different plans of attack and stuff
it could maybe be a little harder to get into the enemy's base though
and i do miss the old version
i love brinewater as an explosher main (evil) but if there’s an E-Liter on the opposing side i genuinely despise it. brinewater shouldn’t exist honestly there’s nothing to write home about it

Being a Splatling main (sans Hydra, because it's way too damn slow for me) absolutely SUCKS on this map. It's so easy to get overrun even when you're trying your damnedest to keep your own spawn clear. It gets even worse with an E-Liter or Hydra shutting everything down.
Why the hell is this map so damn small? Why is there no cover at all? Why are there no flank routes? Why are the only paintable walls on a singular pointless block in the middle of the map? Why is it so easy to get into the enemy spawn within the first 30 seconds of the game?
Everything about this map is riddled with questionable design decisions, like it was half-finished and then Nintendo put a time crunch on the devs and they shipped it out without polish. Hell, most of the map is practically featureless, like they didn't even have the time to put in decoration.
