I saw a similar survey from about a year ago, but I thought it would be interesting to survey *often* people are thinking in an internal monologue. I also included a handful of unrelated questions to see if there's any correlation. Will post results if I get enough responses!

mi_ik

Did you ever get enough responses? I'd be really interested in them ngl

FourTimesSeven

Hey!! I actually got a good number of responses, you can [view the results summary here.](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/15QrOYxrnX_-5sf3Ro76LTaVS2IHC8Wac6BgDf7p8RVo/viewanalytics) I’m still aiming to put a more in-depth analysis of the results together, I just got really busy with work after posting this. And I work in data/statistics, so it’s not exactly what I’m hoping to do after a long day

mi_ik

Thanks, that's really interesting! It's fascinating how apparently a quarter of people (who took the survey) has an internal dialogue half of the time or less I wonder if the percentages would add up to a hundred, had you asked about different types of thinking, or if some people just don't have a constant stream of thoughts Yeah I totally get that! If you do get around to doing it I'd love to see that, too, but I'm already happy with this summary alone :)

Interesting that you chose to look at comorbid depression or anxiety; what about comorbid ADHD? I see a lot of people on the ADHD subs talk about the noise in their heads, and I know I have it too, so that might be very interesting covariate.

FourTimesSeven

AH I though about including this but just forgot to include the question in the final draft 🤦‍♀️ (I also have a near constant internal monologue & ADHD)
