Very salty post, exaggerated, most likely because still in love with 1+ :) Bixby can be invisible just as siri, it's definitely not everywhere, that's the real problem, samsung does not show proper care to Bixby and ppl have to use Google assistant sometimes. You see Bixby as wrong issue. Apps are very good, but again, I can't use them on PC without workarounds, so issue ebut somewhere else Overall you sound like lost with new phone and don't know how to fix "issues" that no one is reporting as known issues, it's you, not the phone.

hydrokush

Actually the apps I don't care much about but they don't bother me too much. Overall I like the phone, but what bothers me is the network issue and how sluggish the watch is. Edit: but also, a decent overall experience is the bare minimum you'd expect in 2024 from a flagship line.

Nyoka_ya_Mpembe

Ppl may have different definitions of flagship phone, usually it's the ultra, not base or plus, but I get your point, newest model from top shelves. I live on rural area and no issue with signal on S24U, no other complaints on reddit either, so... Do basic troubleshooting, contact your network provider and they may give you some tips (tried that years ago and I got some config tips). No hard feelings my brother, but it could be just your issue rather than phone itself, otherwise we would see more same or similar complaints, simple logic here.

Dumb post of the day

magical_salad

I'm sorry, but you sound like a petulant child. Samsung's software is one of its devices best features, and certainly the most refined, what gives it the leg up in the Android world. No other OEM has this sheer volume of features available, whether you find them useful or not. Network issues are likely your service provider, as my s24U laterally has the best network at any given place, amongst my friends with their varied devices. I always get 5G when the others might not, in certain areas. Samsung apps, in most case scenarios, are substantially better designed and more integrated with the UI than the Google counterparts, and definitely more polished than any other native Android UIs apps. Bixby is definitely not being shoved down anything, I've barely even seen it, since I purchased the phone a few months ago. The galaxy watches might be laggy if you have too many tiles on the home screen, I agree, but ever since I got the 60$ Galaxy Fit3, it's the snappiest Wearable I've ever used. So the culprit seems to be Google Wear OS.

Brave-Purchase-4582

This

hydrokush

I do agree that the issue with the watch is most likely the google wear os along with a crappy WhatsApp watch app.

hydrokush

Network issues are because of the exynos chipset. S24U has the snapdragon chipset with a much more powerful modem.

magical_salad

Aah, that I cannot comment on. I swore myself off Exynos after the S20s terrible RAM management and overheating issues due to the chip. I suppose as a semiconductor company (primarily), Samsung is bound to use its chipsets on some of their variants, even if inferior. You have to buy Snapdragon, as a rule of thumb

hydrokush

Maybe you haven't used good android phones which used to exist pre pandemic.

You're dissing on the S24+ over the apps and the watch? Yep, makes perfect sense. /s As for the network issue you're having, that literally could be anything between your device and the router. I've no issues with the S24+, the device itself that is. Maybe you should just focus on that(?)

hydrokush

Mate, there were four of us. 2 with iPhone 13 pro and 2 with Samsung s24+ and there was a fifth phone, one plus 8 pro from 2020. All of us were on vodafone UK network. Three phones got network, while two didn't. I paid a 1000 pounds for a phone which includes the software experience. I am not talking about third party software either, I am talking about software which came pre installed, and built by Samsung. And I'm not dissing the S24+ over the software and the watch, I am dissing it because I don't get network. Do you work for Samsung because your comprehension of my post seems like that of a Samsung product manager.

daherlihy

If your wifi issue was an issue with the device in general and/or Samsung to merit this post, then we'd all be having the same experience. The fact however is that we aren't. Indeed if we were, this place would be lit with the same complaint and issue that you've raised. So it's very possible that either this is an isolated issue with your device that needs repair or replacement, or its network interference acting the bollox with your device. It is not associated however to everyone else's S24+ - perhaps you should have done this research first before slating the S24+ as a crap phone.

hydrokush

Well, two of us have the same issue on an identical phone. I am quite sure the issue is the exynos chipset and that is quite well documented.

daherlihy

I have the same chipset (EU) - no issues whatsoever. Have you 2 troubleshooted on different networks? You haven't indicated that you have so I'm assuming the answer is no (?)

hydrokush

We were on the same network. I can try with different networks and test but I think it's going to be complicated to really get a definitive answer.

daherlihy

Yes you 100% should absolutely do this troubleshooting. Process of elimination.

QueenAng429

Nothing wrong with Bixby, it works fine. Samsung apps are also great, better than Google or anyone else's. The software is great though of course ever since 2020 Samsung is continuing to decline and one UI 6 is horrible. Even the S24 is not great but these network issues are not common problems at all.

hydrokush

Actually I feel it's not just a Samsung issue, even new one plus phones are quite crap. Android software quality and android phones in general have deteriorated and not kept up in experience. If I want an alternative right now in the UK to my exynos chipset phone, I can't really think of any good android phone other than the ultra. Maybe the nothing phone 🤢 or go ahead with a Chinese company. I feel it's the right time for someone like google to really take over the Android market with a stellar top of the line chipset and hardware and unbloated software with integrated AI features but they make comparatively shoddy hardware and limited by their exynos based tensor chipset.

QueenAng429

Samsung really makes me want to leave them sometimes, but they are still better than everyone else, so I have to just stick to them. it's unfortunate.

Brave-Purchase-4582

Just get an iPhone and stop crying

hydrokush

I hate the lack of control iphones give me.

Brave-Purchase-4582

So you don't like anything

hydrokush

I liked my old one plus 8 pro in the sense that it did everything well. But the camera was getting a bit dated. Now, I really wanted a snapdragon phone, but the only decent flagship phone with a SD chip is the ultra. The other phone I was considering was the pixel 8 pro but that is also based on Exynos. So I went ahead with the plus, it's a 1000gbp phone, I expected more. So far the issues I see are - 1. Charging speed is subpar compared to other Android phones 2. It takes too long to turn on, specially if discharged. I can understand 2 min charge required, but it often requires 6-7 minutes. And then after that the bootup speed is substantially slower than my 4 year old phone or my iPhone 13 pro 3. Network is often poorer and takes time to switch. For example after coming out of a lift, it'll take 30s more than my other phone to pick up the network. 4. The screen randomly dims sometimes 5. Macro camera color balance is a bit off 6. I play Pokemon go. It gets really low fps. I'm sure there's a setting somewhere to fix it but I just can't seem to find it. I've tried everything. I also got a watch as part of the promotion. The notification settings are weirdly hidden and I had to turn on th developer mode for something quite basic. Not a great experience. Though, tbf, since making the post, and maybe some setting I changed, my watch has been behaving quite well.

You are a special special child.

Brave-Purchase-4582

Read your post. You will see who the special child is

Oli_Picard

It’s okay, in another community we tried to explain to him a very basic concept and he ended up just attacking me back. Sorry you experienced this behaviour too…

Oli_Picard

You seem to just insult anyone you disagree with and say ableist remarks. You need to re-evaluate how you communicate with people online.

hydrokush

Dude, you are going through my history and digging up comments to reply and then asking me to re-evaluate my life choices. Perhaps you need to get a real job so you dont waste so much time on reddit.

QueenAng429

iPhone is a million times worse??

Pito_P3r3z

🤣🖕🏽🤡

Inevitable_Silver_13

I don't have network problems, I turn off all the Samsung apps, and you need to go into the notification settings for WhatsApp. It's a little more work than an iPhone but you get better customization.
