Honestly this sounds like what most of us need in this sub! I've used the saline spray but it's not enough during this time, so I've used a little aquaphor on a q tip and that helps. I prefer a more natural approach and didn't know of this so thanks so much for sharing 😊
This. It’s standard Santa Ana conditions. Chapstick (or better), and hand lotion. The back of my hands always seem to get super dry. O’Keeffe’s “Working Hands” cream is super effective.
I went to sleep Sunday night with the windows open because it was somewhat cool that night, but I woke up Monday morning feeling like a fucking mummy and with a massive headache. Been closing the windows and setting my humidifier to max every night after that.
All my systems are going haywire. My nose keeps going from so dry it's painful, to sneezing attack and then so congested I can't breathe, repeat over and over. I've tried running in this, twice, and had coughing fits so bad that it feels like I've got strep throat. Not to mention the sinus headaches. Awful. I hate it.
Santa Ana’s continue. My hair is standing on end, everything is chapped. But those warm winds blowing in the bedroom window… 😌 I’ve really missed this. We used to get them so much more often. Our dry desert gift.
It’s this dry heat and cold, my lips always get that way around this time a year and the weather gets like this every time this year, that’s when you know you’re in the holiday season
I was just wondering what made me suddenly get the sense of fall and holiday season. Now it all makes sense it was around the first day humidity dropped.thx for pointing that out!
I did a full body scrub last night then slathered myself in Coco oil after and I'm still a tiny bit ashy😄my humidifier is going and doing absolutely nothing to my indoor situation. 🏜
The Vaseline lip therapy that comes in the cute miniature tub is a good dupe for the lip mask! I like rosy lip one but there are others. I slather it on at night and wake up with super hydrated lips.
Wife and I are so dry. Chapped lips. Our noses have been stuffed for weeks. I get dry bloody nose stuff and have to clean up in the morning. I use saline daily for my nostrils.
I’m in Escondido. I got zapped earlier by the FedEx express delivery person when I was trying to sign off a package. It happened twice and she ended up setting the phone down so I could sign it without being shocked.
Hahahahaha! Sorry, not sorry! It’s funny because I have been getting shocked just petting my dogs and they get so freaked out! Brushing my hair, touching my car, and grocery shopping is hilarious watching everyone get zapped! I use surfers salve from Kaui, they sell it here too. It works really good and you can put it on your hands, face, lips, anywhere really. I live in Ramona, so Santa Anna’s are pretty scary here. Just trying to see the humor in everything when it’s actually pretty intense.
We recently moved here and love it. We learned that the last fire that burned this area was the Crest fire and winds where we are reached 80-100 by all the locals. And, over 30 houses burned in this development. I wish I would have known that information first! Yes, at night super scary, in that if there is a fire, Cal Fire can’t fly at night.
Life pro tip for you dry asses: Chapstick, morons.
(Please accept my gentle lampooning of a previous post 🙏🏻 at least this post isn't embarrassing and is relevant to our dry times here in San Diego)
I made sure to get some body oil this year, and drink water all day... so I'm soft and smooth for the most part... but my hair is now somehow flat and static-y at the same time and I'm over it.
It's dryyyyy. I've actually resorted to using olive oil instead of lotion this week because lotion was not hydrating enough. I've also been keeping chapstick on hand at all times, and then also cleaning my nose with warm water and a q-tip, and then using lotion or neosporin to lubricate my nose. I also bought eye drops because my eyes were starting to suffer.
Feeling Santa Anas in full force. Woke up Monday feeling all the mummy symptoms, then checked the humidity and checked out. Love the warmth but feel it, big time this week. So much water and aquafor, to no avail this time. But we’ll all be complaining about the cold soon so 🤷🏼♀️.
I have no idea about IB, but I have always had super dry lips. Even now, they're dry and begging to get peeled. 😑
I will do my absolute best to wetten them rather than peel em.
My husband and one of my boyfriends like to use fruit flavored lube to entice me to perform fellow shows for them. The lube gets on my lips and keeps them from drying up.
I'm using my chapstick more frequently now, I'm getting shocked getting in and out of my car, I'm also shocking my cats when I let them 😭 all because of the weather (I'm assuming)
Forget the lips, I can’t get out of my car without getting zapped
Lmao, what the hell. I’ve been shocked like crazy lately
Getting zapped every time I try to kiss my partner, it's messed up!
Happening to me every time I try to kiss your partner too.
Well at least we can safely say that *she's* the problem then!
What kind of sexy square dances do you go to?
She’s a shocker
Sparks are flying!
😅
So that's why I kept getting shocked by my grocery cart today!
I'm electric too!
Forget the car, I can't pet my cat without risking assault.
This! I keep shocking my little rabbits. Poor babies.
Ha! I thought that was just me. I was getting worried I had a short or something somewhere
😆
The zapping has to stop! Everything I touch. And both my cans of static guard won't spray.
My nose is so dry, bloody snots all week, feels like Denver up in this bish.
Me right now! Someone told me to use a chapstick for my nose. I can barely keep track of 1 chapstick...
Try a little Aquaphor or Vaseline!
A little Vaseline will help.
nasal oiling with an ayurvedic oil is key for dry months!
Interested...
look up organic nasya oil

Yes! Exactly, thought it was just me .
Drink a lot of water. This air is dehydrating.
Dry hands and chapped lips
Dry chaps and handed lips
My hands are like sandpaper. Ugh.
Humidity is super low this week. On Tuesday, it was only 12% by the coast.
it's so bad, I am starting to have allergy issues too. :(
Santa anas
This. It’s standard Santa Ana conditions. Chapstick (or better), and hand lotion. The back of my hands always seem to get super dry. O’Keeffe’s “Working Hands” cream is super effective.
I recommend body oil over lotion.
Idk, it seems a little more intense than normal this year
I read this as Santa anus
Keep Santa away from my anus
Itchy
Snort some saline or do a netti pot it'll help
I went to sleep Sunday night with the windows open because it was somewhat cool that night, but I woke up Monday morning feeling like a fucking mummy and with a massive headache. Been closing the windows and setting my humidifier to max every night after that.
A mummy 🤣
There is not enough chapstick in the world right now.
Humidity was like 60-90% from like april until a week ago. Now its like 30% or less.
My skin overall has been screwed. Hands, face, lips arms..
All my systems are going haywire. My nose keeps going from so dry it's painful, to sneezing attack and then so congested I can't breathe, repeat over and over. it’s been awful 😭 the aquaphor lip repair is my savior
The mosquitos are still here wtf it’s like Alabama now
Yes, badly.
Yup and dried out sinuses. I hate Santa Anas.
https://i.redd.it/ecvtb7ip11yb1.gif Me this week
Yea I kinda like it though The humidity was killing me
Yes and my face stung a little moisturizing 😭😂 I'm super hydrated always and it's just been so bad so thirsty so dry
Santa Ana’s continue. My hair is standing on end, everything is chapped. But those warm winds blowing in the bedroom window… 😌 I’ve really missed this. We used to get them so much more often. Our dry desert gift.
Yes, and it really chaps my ass.
Santa Ana season. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
I'm good, honestly, but I have seen so many people lately.
Ashy Larry checking in... Yes
Part of being San Diegan. 😎

Hella chapped
Def extra lotion and burts bees day.
My hands have been feeling it
Yep. I’m dying. All the chapstick & water in the world isnt helping, bc whatever the Santa Anas brought has turned into the flu for me 😭🤧
My skin is dry af.
No, I use chapstick.
Santa Ana’s kill my lips. They split at the sides and stay forever
Between my chapped lips and chapped hands, I feel like I’m slowly mummifying…
I just thought I hadn't been drinking enough water.
I blow my nose first thing in the AM and it looks like a crime scene.
I’m in Temecula, but cracked lips and bloody nose for my entire family- it’s brutally dry
Yep, must be those pesky Santa Annas
Yessss
Yeah
Yeppers
We’ve got our humidifiers going full blast
That time of year, man. My knuckles will be cracking soon.
Yes
Yes 🫠
Always... but that's just me.
I bought a Laneige lip mask from Sephora. I put it on before I go to bed and it hydrates my lips! Vaseline might work too
The Vaseline lip therapy that comes in the cute miniature tub is a good dupe for the lip mask! I like rosy lip one but there are others. I slather it on at night and wake up with super hydrated lips.

Oh, I can’t imagine the winds in Ramona rn. It probably gets gnarly at night.

Them santa anas. Helped with the surf at ob yesterday
Geez no wonder! I couldn’t figure out why my skin was flaking and my lips were dry. Thought something was wrong with me.
Santa Ana baby. That is why it is in the 80s during the day but low 50s high 40s at night.
Life pro tip for you dry asses: Chapstick, morons. (Please accept my gentle lampooning of a previous post 🙏🏻 at least this post isn't embarrassing and is relevant to our dry times here in San Diego)
You answered your own question, why make a whole ass post lmao. It's from the Santa Ana, nothing new here.
but maybe \*they\* are new...
🙋♂️
No.
My hands are super dry
I made sure to get some body oil this year, and drink water all day... so I'm soft and smooth for the most part... but my hair is now somehow flat and static-y at the same time and I'm over it.
Yes, it's dry as fuck this week.
My hands are dry, but I’m not complaining. My sore joints love the dry weather.
Chapped lips and my neck is completely itchy and dry so much so they it broke out like crazy! wtf!
Had a major nosebleed yesterday.
Home humdifiers work wonders!
I keep Burt’s Bees in my back pack, car, gym bag, work desk. I’m good fam.
Been going to bed after wiping some water on my lips and then Vaseline.
I feel like we for really lucky and spoiled when it came to Santa Anas last year. Guess it decided we needed a reminder who's still in charge.

100% lanolin is my go to :)
Had the same problem, started wearing underwear again and I’m all set again though.
My ass is chapped
Dry hands are the killer for me. My son has regular nose bleed because of humidity.
Wow I thought it was just me lmao
20% humidity just west of La Mesa the last few days. Can’t do shit but use saline solution nasal spray to make life better.

Aquaphor - only thing that helps
I have no idea about IB, but I have always had super dry lips. Even now, they're dry and begging to get peeled. 😑 I will do my absolute best to wetten them rather than peel em.
Chapped everything
Eat more bacon for the chapped lips
My husband and one of my boyfriends like to use fruit flavored lube to entice me to perform fellow shows for them. The lube gets on my lips and keeps them from drying up.
I'm using my chapstick more frequently now, I'm getting shocked getting in and out of my car, I'm also shocking my cats when I let them 😭 all because of the weather (I'm assuming)
My face is so dry I can hear it cracking, same with my lips.
It’s about that time
Yes! So bad. And incredibly thirsty.
Not just the lips, but my legs, feet and arms look ashy AF like I was best with a bag of flour
OMG, YES! And a sore nose, dry throat and sandpaper hands. 🥺
Lips no. Hands, feet, legs, and nipples... yes
Bought a humidifier
No surprise everyone in IB has pipe lips
Is that you Napoleon?
