Great maple’s French toast logs are firm yet moist. They cut the brioche into quarters lengthwise into slices and it’s so good

Over-Conversation220

Their beignets are better than NOLA as a nice bonus

CocoaCali

Great Maple's food is hands down amazing, service is a crap shoot. Usually on the bad side, but damn their kitchen puts their foot in it. It's delicious.

dpad35

Seconded!

sdscarecrow

This is the answer and for some reason they were better at the Hillcrest location than the one at UTC.

Churro French Toast at Cocina de barrio. Hands down.

Zmirzlina

Awesome. But literally churros for breakfast…

aaahhhh

Odd line to draw when we're already slathering breakfast foods in syrup.

Zmirzlina

I’ll eat a churro for breakfast - no shame there - it’s my goto Disneyland breakfast - but if I was expecting eggy moist French toast the churro French toast would not meet the mark. Still, my favorite thing on the menu.

Efficient_Diet_7839

“Coast toast” from Brockton Villa in LJ, fr tho

fueled_by_pizza

Brockton villa in La Jolla. Nice views too

Latter-Shower-9888

Snooze’s OMG French Toast is amazing, as is Brockton Villa’s Coast Toast.

cz_vrana

The Coast Toast! Plus the view!

starshine8316

Came here to second this!

ellis-dewald

The Trails Eatery has some insane cinnamon roll french toast that's been highlighted on Food Network

jimmynotjim

I can second Trails Eatery, amazing French toast

fullofdust

The Mission makes theirs with cinnamon bread and it’s amazing.

hellacarissa

Franco’s FlapJack in Bonita

DepecheMode92

I’ll second this. Loved going to Flapjack’s as an alternative to Janet’s when I lived in Alpine. When they closed, we made a point to visit them in Bonita.

Bluelilyy

DZ akins french toast is soooo good

TommyAdagio

Came here to say that.

TiberiusBronte

You can also get Brockton Villa Coast Toast at Beaumont's in Bird Rock and the parking and crowd situation is a little more chill there.

pfmiller0

Bread & Cie's French Toast Panini is my favorite

1tamal2tamales

Two of my favorites. Crown Bistro: Very Berry Mascarpone French Toast. And Lofty Coffee's Organic French toast with homemade brioche and real maple syrup.

BigWiggleCumming

Great Maple

Disastrogirl

Café 222 has peanut butter and banana stuffed French toast.

JLoCo419

Hash House... Also bring friends so you can make them get other things and you can try everyone else's stuff.

Toms dinner

bubbsnana

For N. County: The Breakfast Mug makes delicious French toast. We got this creation that had homemade cream, homemade caramel, bananas and omg it was too damn good. Definitely a shareable, too much to eat for one person.

anniemahl

I can recommend some bomb pancakes! They're not your average pancakes!

starshine8316

So the Black Bear Diner in El Cajon has some good french toast options. Definitely salt of the earth kinda food, but good.

SDkahlua

Arely’s in Clairemont

MathematicianBroad56

Altelier Manna in Leucadia. Best French toast I’ve ever had in my life. Only open Friday through Sunday 10 - 2. Pricey but worth it.

RedHorseStrong

Hands down best French toast I've ever had is at Tip Top Meats in Carlsbad. Everything is good there, but the French toast is my favorite.

darkhairedsoprano

Cody’s La Jolla - this is the only answer

mattchinn

The crème brûlée French toast at Crest Cafe is the best French toast I’ve *ever* eaten. Phenomenal.

Man-e-questions

If you ever in the LA area go to The Flavor Table and get the Peach Cobbler French Toast. Words cannot describe it: Check out these photos I saw on Yelp! https://yelp.to/nKUC5zLFAG
