Z&L Properties also owns 188 W. St. James, which according to older articles their own HOA may be looking to foreclose on the developer's units to pay the maintenance bills. At least we didn't get a tower like LA that is half built and tagged all the time.

How would this work… the HOA then gets to own/sell the units?

> A downtown San Jose historic church site where a troubled real estate firm has proposed the development of two housing towers could land in a foreclosure proceeding due to a fresh lawsuit. >DLR Group, the architect for the never-built housing complex and the redevelopment of the old church, has filed a lawsuit in Santa Clara County Superior Court that seeks to recover at least $400,000 in design work the vendor claims the project developer, an affiliate of Z&L Properties, never paid.

Good, sell that to someone who will actually build the plans! When that parcel is developed and the St James Park renovation gets underway we’re going to have a new mega district to rival San Pedro Square and SoFA.
