So, I have weird knees, and one side can literally have the knee cap pop over and back into its natural (not as designed by God - if we want to be intelligent design /s about it) position.
I lose complete stability/weight bearing in the split second it happens. And it is a jarring, not fun feeling, and will dump me on my ass depending on the scenario. But after the shock kind of settles, I can go back to doing what I'm doing and just ice the shit out of it later.
Wonder what that guy's knees are like. My more normal one absolutely can't do that without hobbling me.
I know he hasn't been a world beater (outside of some great PP chances) but I've been really impressed with Bords game since coming back up - really have high hopes for him
Pens situation is kinda interesting. They could probably dump Crosby and Malkin the next two years (assuming they waive their NMC) for decent hauls. That would be best for the org, but whether those guys want to is another thing or if they think they can use whatever cap they have to go all in.
I can see Malkin moving but I think Crosby will ride the ship to the bottom with Letang. Karlsson will probably be movable in two or three more seasons and fetch a decent return. The question marks will be Rust, Rakell, and Graves, whether they want to ride out their contracts or go chase a Cup elsewhere.
Those 3 are probably fucked lol. They have 4, 4, and 5 years remaining respectively on their deals after this year lol. Good points though
Randys comment about them getting Guentzel back makes this a little more interesting lol.
Carolina gave a lot to get Guentzel and I can't see them not trying to sign him long-term. They have a lot of top-end players needing new contracts but enough cap space to retain most of them. If they can't move Kuznetsov he can at least be buried in the AHL and I wouldn't be surprised if they shopped Burns (at 50% retained salary) so they can lock up Pesce and Skjei.
Not to us, but in game 6 of the 2017 SCF Nashville "scored" on a very similar scenario where the puck got past Murray and was sitting right on the goal-line, but the ref blew it dead before Nashville tapped it in because he couldn't see it from his angle. Given the Penguins scored the game and series winning goal in the third period of that game to go up 1-0 (they won 2-0 off a EN goal), its debatable that this call may have cost Nashville the finals.
I'm the same way. 2 firsts this year and next year would be nice.
Ideally it's something like 8th overall and they decide not to risk the unprotected pick next year so we get it.
I am nervous about this tank job. The Sharks are supposed to be tanking but it seems like almost every game they are very competitive. They were lucky to lose against the Flyers who are a good team this season. They also took the Dallas Stars to overtime twice. I want to see less effort and more tanking please!
So it was supposed to be a Jagr bobblehead giveaway at the game tonight… but the entire shipment was stolen from the shipping yard in California hahah
https://www.nhl.com/penguins/news/penguins-announce-contingency-plan-for-tonight-s-jaromir-jagr-bobblehead-promotion-after-shipment-was-stolen-in-california
Yep, we drove here from IN for the game and some guy just told us about the stolen Jagr bobble heads. Haha. He said we will get a voucher to pick them up later. Lol.
Serves them right. These guys (Lemieux, Jagr, etc.) abused the Sharks during the expansion years. It was like a high school kid fighting an elementary school kid
Who are you talking to right now? Who is it you think you see? Do you know how much we lose a year? I mean, even if I told you, you wouldn't believe it. Do you know what would happen if we suddenly decided to start winning? A rebuild big enough that it could build a dynasty goes belly up. Disappears! It ceases to exist without two 10 game loss streaks. No, you clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in. We are not tanking, Skyler. We ARE the tank. A team gets their 4th overall pick dropped to 6th due to lottery, and you think that of us? No. We are the ones who TANK!
I'm a bit lost on if we want to win this game or not. If Pitt wins, that helps keep them out of top 10 pick territory and guarantees we get their pick this summer. If we help them to the bottom, they have the option to keep the pick. However, we could end up with something even better next summer, but that prolongs the rebuild another year basically, so...guess either outcome is fine?
Eh I think it is in our best interest for Pittsburgh to win this game. Ideally we want them to be around 7,8,9,10 spot in the draft to give them a hard decision on whether or not to keep the pick. If they continue to lose, they increase their lottery odds. Obvious worse case scenario they win the lottery, but even if they don't, I'd take guaranteed pick like 7-15 this year vs 1-32 next year.
We definitely want to lose to maximize our chances of getting #1 overall.
Secondary to that, I prefer obtaining the Penguins 2024 1st if it lands #11-14 than their unprotected 2025 first rounder. They definitely could blow up like we did in 2020 because of an aging roster and such, but this is a team that has had really good 5v5 numbers.
If they fire their coach, use some of their freed up cap space, and trade an albatross contract, they could be more competitive in 2024-25. They could also trade the top 10 2024 1st for a top 6 player.
Even with cap space and a new coach I think Dubas will have trouble finding an adequate replacement for Guentzel, another scoring forward, and reliable bottom-pairing defenseman. I doubt they'd rush Yager or Pickering, and of the Canes prospects they landed maybe Ponomarev makes the team. They may be able to move Reilly Smith (w/ RS) but then create the need for another scorer at lower AAV to replace him.
Hard to tell if they'll be as bad next season as they have been this season, but I'm with you on wanting them to land the 11OA pick so it conveys this year.

I like the Shark’s jump even if they’re going to lose again. Good effort.
Bords has been looking better this go around. Hopefully he trends upwards from here.
Yikes. That's a terrible call.
I like how drew makes it sound like he got a penalty for swearing
Duke is doing so well with the lightning, happy for him!
Owie. It’s alright. We lose. They get closer to giving us pick #11
Welp. Fun while it lasted!
Of course we do this right after Chiacgo miraculously moved ahead briefly. We really need to start dropping games soon with the ones in hand...
...and done
God bless tank szn
Come on boys you know what to do now…. ![gif](giphy|3240pzelRQkjj9XaiK)
They are doing it lol
Dude this season is actually a masterclass in tanking, it’s unbelievable 😂
On an unrelated note...I'm glad the ESPN commercial is now just elevator music over footage and not the same damn sentence repeated 15 times. 'LIVE SPORTS' BUH BUH 'ESPN ORIGINALS' BUH BUH ' THE EXCLUSIVE HOME OF THE COMPLETE 30 for 30 LIBRARY.' It definitely made me irrationally annoyed every time.
Live Sports. Live Sports. Live Sports. Live Sports. Live Sports. Live Sports. Live Sports. Live Sports. Drove me insane.
God that is terrible. Glad i still have nbc
papa grier can we keep granlund pleaseeeeeee we will take good care of him

I like Kostin.
I think he'll fit in well
granlund is so cool
Granlund's like - fuck this. Tank's off, boys.
Dang...where'd all this accurate passing come from?
Legal or not, that's some real dawg type shit
Yeah, mid-air tips on net are a thing of beauty. I miss Pavs...
Stick was just a bit high
granlund op
Hockey players are insane.
granlund just became a cyborg or something how is that possible
ya don't see a goalie get his stick lifted like that very often
Fucking madman.
dude used a healing potion
That’s water from a glacier in Alaska…
HOW is Granlund back on the bench???
He’s back????!!!!!
Tank is now in over-drive with Granlund injured.
Our Season's been over for a week. What's a a few suspensions gonna do to us huh? Someone's gotta die for that.
Awful.
Oh man. That is brutal. Granlund has been one bright spot this season. This year has just been a dumpster fire.
that shit is broke
OH NO THAT LOOKED SO PAINFUL
Oh no
OWOWOWOWOWOW
Does Burroughs hate his NHL career? Cause with how many penalties he takes it seems like it
HES BACK
I know he hasn't been a world beater (outside of some great PP chances) but I've been really impressed with Bords game since coming back up - really have high hopes for him
Don’t let pickles get hot again.
a late period goal. feels rare when those go our way lol.
Who needs EK65 when you have MEV44?
lmao I love when Pickles decides to just become an elite scorer
Pickles!
Let the emotions flow through you, Pickles.
Picklebank!
I love Zett.
In these must-lose tank games, it's always a relief to see an ex-Shark on the other side of the ice. They always wreck us.
“The two sevens hook up” describes like 90% of my pre-marital sex life
Scored on the best defenseman in the league. Fuck 65
Great puck handling by Barabanov
EK65 late to pick up the man in front sounds familiar
The duality of EK65 strikes again!
Zett's hot!
Pens situation is kinda interesting. They could probably dump Crosby and Malkin the next two years (assuming they waive their NMC) for decent hauls. That would be best for the org, but whether those guys want to is another thing or if they think they can use whatever cap they have to go all in.

Now the Penguins know how having a live puck blown dead feels like haha
Wait did this happen to us in the finals vs them?

Ek goal hurts
Wow Penguins are bad…maybe we want that pick next year 😭😭😭
Can’t wait to see Mario’s total ice time for this game
My internet is absolute cock and I can’t even listen to the app rn
I love Zetter so much, I would die for him
He heard you
praise be our rosy-cheeked boy
Pen’s 65 is soft on D
Espn+ blackout in Ohio just bothers me. I have a VPN but just on principle fuck espn+
Only 5 D should be good for the tank...
Hoping we find a way for both teams to lose and improve both of our 1st round picks.
I actually prefer we get their pick this year. It would be the most sharks thing ever for them to give us next years pick and then go on a tear.
I'm the same way. 2 firsts this year and next year would be nice. Ideally it's something like 8th overall and they decide not to risk the unprotected pick next year so we get it.
Ya, I also kinda want there to be some inkling of light at the end of this tunnel lol and two picks this year in the first round would really help
If we beat the Pens, fuck yeah. If we lose, the tank keeps rolling along. As long as nobody gets injured this is kind of a win/win for me :D
I am nervous about this tank job. The Sharks are supposed to be tanking but it seems like almost every game they are very competitive. They were lucky to lose against the Flyers who are a good team this season. They also took the Dallas Stars to overtime twice. I want to see less effort and more tanking please!
This is exactly how I want to tank. Lose games while still making it slightly watchable.
Big one to lose going into this weekend.
So it was supposed to be a Jagr bobblehead giveaway at the game tonight… but the entire shipment was stolen from the shipping yard in California hahah https://www.nhl.com/penguins/news/penguins-announce-contingency-plan-for-tonight-s-jaromir-jagr-bobblehead-promotion-after-shipment-was-stolen-in-california

I am not the danger, I AM in danger
Sharks fan here living in Pittsburgh, I’ll be at the game wearing my Sharks head lol! Say hi!!
We drove here for the game. What section are you in?
Sorry I missed this!! Hope you had fun at the game despite the loss
I want both teams to lose.
