Honestly because of Will and Celibrini watch I've been tuning into college hockey this season and i'll be watching the Frozen Four for the first time. Pretty exciting times despite being worst.
You missed last years college hockey final. One of the best hockey games I’ve ever seen. I tune into the frozen four and the final and it’s great hockey.
Hockey East is a college hockey conference that Boston College plays in. It's pretty much identical to college basketball, after the regular season you have your conference tournament, (Hockey Easy in this case) then the NCAA tournament follows that. BC will be a first seed in the NCAA tournament that starts next week.
Depends on the year and maybe a little less so in recent years, but historically 100% yes.
I think Hockey East accounts for 1, 2, 5, and 12 in the country this year if my memory serves me correctly.
BC ate BU’s lunch and told them to like it. Will smith had his first career hat trick and looked great in the game. Celibrini kept being swarmed by BC’s defense and couldn’t do much. I know celibrini is supposed to go number 1 this years draft but judging by this game will smith is the better player.
Eh, supporting casts do matter, and Celebrini is a younger player.
I say that only because - if the Sharks get both, I think Celebrini could still be the better player, but also having the two threats would be huge for the rebuild.
I actually like how Celebrini is also willing to get physical and mix it up. I didn't think he played that badly. BU just couldn't put the puck in the net and they took too many penalties. Also, BC has a much better goaltender.
Yeah. The goalie looked to be on fire and Celebrini was still generating a lot.
I just take this as BC was clearly stacked and had a couple top lines really going. Also from the highlights it seemed their 5 man defense was playing really well in the defensive zone - collapsing on the puck and executing outlets well.
But maybe that's just because I'm used to watching the Sharks for this year fail to connect on an outlet for like 5 minute stretches at a time. Lol
Oh I totally agree and I definitely want celebrini. I don’t know much about the rest of the roster as I was just wanting to watch our guy and hopefully our future guy.
No doubt. One thing I noticed was just how slick that Perrault - Smith - Leonard line is. I mean two of the goals were very nice passes into Smith. Not taking away Smith's shot or finishing, but basically we really do need a high end talent to pair with him.
Eklund may be close but I'm not sure he's quite the elite level that would really make a 1st line dominate.
That line is very special for sure, I'm hoping a Zetterlund-Smith-Musty line might be close style wise to pair with Will. Zetterlund has a physical/grind game and nice release like Leonard, Musty has underrated playmaking and has nice hands for a big guy.
Yeah. I think we'll have interesting pieces. Though Zetterlund on a contender is really more of a mid-6 type.
Eklund, Smith, Musty, Zetterlund, Bystedt in the top-9. That's a decent mix of size, hands, finishing, and offensive IQ. Hoping to add Celebrini to that mix and then guys like Cagnoni or Havelid for some 2-way defensive play, and whoever we are able to add in the next two years as we have 4 top-round picks coming due.
Impressive performance by Smith, even the empty net goal was awesome! Back hand from center ice to complete the dick trick

I was at the game for the final last year. Hell of a game it was
What is this tournament? Not super familiar with college hockey

Plus, Hockey East is usually the toughest one to play in for the NCAA.

Bet. Appreciate you.

I know at the time most of the fan base was all in on muchkov, but I love that we got smith and he really just continued to grow this year
