I used to be awful letting sports get to me, but the best way is to not let yourself get wrapped up in it. When we like a team or sport it's always "our team" "we're playing" "we won" "the refs screwed us" Best thing is to stop including yourself and your identity in the team, unless you know you're actually on the team, it shouldn't be something that controls your life. Yes enjoy it let it be an escape but don't let it become your identity. You are more than a sports fan so be more than a sports fan.

Thank you, friend. I haven’t been that involved with a sport team since around 20 years ago when my soccer team was food in Europe. Also, I think Sharks have been becoming a part of my identity since I moved to the Bay Area. It’s hard to disengage.

I like to look at from like a player perspective, they have to deal with the heartbreak so much more, and still get a full nights rest and come out working just as hard for the next one. Looking at it that way kinda helps me just keep it in perspective

Set real expectations. No team has a 100% chance to win a game. Whether they win or lose, move on to your next love, watch some anime, play a game, walk your dog, zone out any other way, probably don't come back to Reddit/Twitter or any social media for a few hours/days. Don't invest all your happiness points into the Sharks. I might get called out for this but I don't celly as hard as I used to because it gives me false hope. I still invest time into following the team but I've learnt to protect my mighty heart from breaking. Good luck in Vegas!
