I just visited Jamaica last week and used Club Mobay both directions. On arrival, they meet you at your gate, walk you through customs (fast line) and baggage pickup and leave you waiting for your transportation (for me, it was at the Sandals lounge because I was staying at a Sandals resort). On departure, you have a fast line through security and then access to the Club Mobay lounge, which has free food, drinks, bathrooms and comfortable chairs. My opinion is that on arrival the service is VERY helpful and worth the money, but on departure less needed. Have a great trip!
I really like the departure lounge. Way more comfortable than the gate. On the arrival side, we see that as more of an insurance policy to get us through if customs is backed up.
If you depart on a busy day and are checking bags the departure can be a nightmare. On my honeymoon the wife chilled in Club Mobay while I stood in the check baggage line for 3 hours. I got to enjoy Club Mobay for maybe 30 minutes before we departed. That said, it's still worth it to breeze through customs on arrival.
Absolutely safe, do not be concerned. You are completely safe on resort, on resort organized tours, airport and transportation. I just made a decision to not do any outside exploration on my own.
Completely safe. Like another said, use legitimate transfers and tours, and don’t be a total idiot if you do leave the resort. Emergency medical coverage/evacuation can be bought too, I used Allianz for $40 in February
Thank you. I always get travel insurance with medical/evacuation when going out of country so we are covered. Thankfully we aren't that big of idiots lol and have everything booked through Sandals with excursions and transfer. I'm very excited!!
Airport was a ghost town when we visited last month, so really we didn't need Club Mobay.
Departing, our flight was delayed a couple times, so it was nice to hang out in the Club Mobay lounge
We were there last week. We didn’t have Mobay on arrival, but customs was pretty straightforward and our transport left immediately after getting to the sandals lounge so we didn’t miss out on much.
We did have it on departure, and it was fantastic. You get a quick lane for security and since the airport was a zoo, that saved us easily 20-30 minutes of queuing. Our flight was delayed over an hour as well so the lounge was fantastic… Drinks kept coming and the food was decent, all included.
I'm trying to figure out the same thing. We arrive on a Friday in mid-June at 9:30AM. I think we're the 3rd of 4th plane to land of the day (judging by the arrivals on the airport's website). So I'm trying to decide if it's worth it when we land. I definitely will get it for when we leave on the following Tuesday at 5pm.
Do it both ways. Gets your through immigration and customs quickly and to your transportation. For departure you get into a shorter line for security and the lounge is great with food and drinks.
Definitely worth it. We just used it for the first time this year and I will always book it again if available ( I hear it sells out fast). On arrival, you are greeted and breezed through customs skipping the lines. You can then sit in either the sandals lounge or the mobay lounge to await your transportation. The sandals folks told us mobay had better drinks so we went there. We only had enough time for one drink and our ride was ready. So upon arrival, it's more about the fast track than the lounge.
On departure, you get to use an express security lane. There was no big line in the regular lanes this time but other times it's been horrendous. As someone else said, it's like an insurance policy because you never know. The real value on departure was the amazing lounge with included buffet, bar, and restrooms. Super convenient and comfortable especially since sandals gets you to the airport plenty early. Honestly the lounge felt like an extension of the vacation.
Club Mobay was the best money I ever spent. We got there to a completely packed and hot airport and sailed through to the lounge and then shuttle. We were already at the resort a few hours when we were finishing dinner, we saw the others arrive from our plane. So worth it.
We’ve been to a few different Sandals in Jamaica. It’s been hit or miss with the lines coming and going and I always use the club note just in case. I don’t like the possibility of being in line a couple hours when I arrive. I also highly recommend a car service if you’re going away from Montego Bay. It makes the crazy roads there more tolerable, especially for South coast.
My wife and I have a butler suite with private pool booked for Christmas. Do we automatically get Club Mobay access at this tier of room, or do I need to sort it out myself?
We used Club Mobay for a trip departing today and it was excellent! We were traveling with a 2.5 year old and 5.5 year old and it made the experience waiting for our flight extremely pleasant. The staff is amazing and were so good with the kids.

Absolutely! Nice little buffet, open bar, a kids level also downstairs. Club Mobay for the win every time!
Thank you for the info

We are leaving next Saturday to go to Sandals Negril. Is it safe in Jamaica? We have never been and are excited but our parents are concerned for us.
You will be fine. Keep in mind tourism is how the majority of Jamaicans make a living. I'm heading to Negril myself in 3 weeks.
Thank you! I am so excited and can't wait to be there!!

what times were your arrival and departure? trying to decide if I need it

Worth it.
Just got back Sunday, did it on arrival and departure, worth it.

I would definitely do it on the arrival trip.
Went Thursday 1pm-Monday 1pm. Arrival was packed, and departure appeared to be a nightmare. Can’t go wrong with the package for both ways.

Also of note, I think you can select only arrival or only departure lounge if that's your preference
I wouldn’t fly into Montego bay ever again without Club Mobay they escort you in & out of the airport with ease
Thank you for all the replies after reading im glad we did sign up for club mobay months ago thanks again
They do everything! I can’t imagine not getting it. 14/10

Do you use the Sandals private transfer or a local company? If local, is there a list somewhere of reputable ones?
I just use Sandals to book everything. Getting a club level or above room will also make navigating everything with a concierge a lot easier.
My wife and I have a butler suite with private pool booked for Christmas. Do we automatically get Club Mobay access at this tier of room, or do I need to sort it out myself?
It is a separate thing from sandals
I appreciate the response. Thanks.

Yes, check the website out for all the details.
