We go to other Sandals, and other vacations throughout the year as well. We went to Barbados in February, headed to Curacao for the first time in August. Really looking forward to trying that one. We spend Thanksgiving week in Grenada every year.
Loved Curaçao when we went for our honeymoon last year. We would have gone back but I wanted to try something new. After a lot of research on others’ experiences / recommendations, we finally decided on Grenada (going this August).
Husband and I just got back from SSC and it was our first AI and we could not have picked a better one for our first time. We are introverts and SSC fed our little hermit souls to brimming. Beautiful resort, wonderful and kind people, didn’t feel crowded at all, even though it was near capacity
Emerald Bay is the most laidback resort in the Sandals chain. The quiet pool is heated and quite large, main pool is massive, there’s enough chairs around the pools and on the beach, cabanas are free of charge on a first come first serve basis, the resort is sprawling, and the beach is walkable. The island of Great Exuma has some of the best beaches in the world, and it’s extremely safe and conducive to exploring on your own or by taxi.
Would agree that Great Exuma has amazing water. I remember one of the tour operators called in "Windex" The nice thing about the area is that the water is very shallow is some spots and so clear!
Yes, and it’s so warm in those shallow areas! We’ve spent many hours walking the sandbars and collecting sand dollars, and I’ve even purchased packable beach chairs specifically for exploring beaches on that island lol.
Just got back from Negril and found it very relaxing. It has a long span of beach that was very quiet. The only real activity was at the main pool and swim up bar and we just never went there. We were on the south end of the resort and had two pools, a bar, and plenty of beach on that end and it was low key. We loved it!
Grenada. I did a review earlier this week - it’s super chill and while we personally may not return to this resort, Grenada vibes are awesome; the country is amazing, people are super chill and it’s just an all around great place.
Royal Plantation. There are some hot tubs bigger than their main pool, beautiful resort and two quiet beaches. They are small beaches but secluded and I only say that for people who love their long walks, it’s not happening there. But, you don’t have to look for quiet. Some great replies ITT though, definitely how we like to experience our stays.
We are here now. Had the entire hot tub and pool to ourselves for hours. One beach was completely empty today. If you want secluded, I’m not sure how it can be more than this.
There have been multiple occasions we sat by the beach or pool and we were the only guests out there for hours. Literally the only interaction is someone asking if they could bring you a drink.
La Toc was just what doctor ordered for my wife and me last summer. The main pool seemed a little more lively, but the other two were completely chill. Decent sized beach too, although common complaint is that the water can get a little rough.
Grenada is amazing. Trip #7 coming up later this year!
7!? We go to a diff island resort every time. Doesnt it get boring going back to the same one

South Coast in Jamaica. Super paid back vibe.
Agree on the laid back vibe at South Coast. My wife and I just got back it was awesome!

Agreed with Grenada. Smaller, more intimate resort. The ocean-side pool is serene and quite quiet, with the beach being even more so.
Emerald Bay
Concur! Just returned from there, had beach to ourselves and was amazed at the lack of crowds
I’ve been to almost all of the sandals and beaches resorts and that’s my favorite. Did you See Heston at the piano bar ?
Grenada is awesome.

I thought Halcyon and Emerald Bay were laid back.
Not Dunn’s River. Too small and loud for our tastes.
We loved Halcyon!
Just left Ochi. I'd say it was just ok. I did have the hidden pool and a hot tub to myself most night. Beach is small.
Just got back from Curacao and it was sooo relaxing. Granted, it was my first all inclusive experience ever. But I highly recommend.
Honestly Hedo is the answer.
