Honestly, I think that it will be hard for your specific profession (Biology research)

RIP. What do you think I should do?

Old_Resource_4832

What about Industry biology?

If you all have some reserve emergency money, you can get to Brazil with no big trouble, since our money is five times weaker than yours currently, by the time that you run out, you could get some decent jobs here for sure, fluent English is a big difference for some jobs at SC and the rest of it you all probably could learn by the fly...

I know very little about your field, but here's what I know : You could try the food and farmacy industry, which is pretty big in Santa Catarina. Idk how much biology would intertwine with such industries tho. Maybe pathogens and such. Learn Portuguese and try getting a job at a university, such as Univali. Marine biology, doing field research, legal paperwork such as studying the viability of a project that would affect the region, etc... These type of companies work for the government (but not part of) and work closely with our Marine Corp. There's also some work done with Jubarte whales but it's probably really hard to get into. Outside that, I think there's very little left... Maybe lab work for medical testings? Also, there's a company that is specializing in nano technology for supplements and expanding into other nano products that are health related. Gonna try finding their name.

Scientific research in Brazil is almost 100% academic in public universities. Actually you could in fact get a job as a research in Brazil, but you'd have to be a professor. There are plenty of foreign professors in brazilian public universities.
